On August 6, 2004, 16- year- old Cyntoia Denise Brown had been walking the East side of Nashville, Tennessee and area well known where the ladies of the night work the streets looking for her next client. The young black teen would be picked up by a 43-year-old white man named Johnny Allen. The pair would end up back at Allen’s house. Several hours later, Cyntoia would end up shooting Allen in the back of the head killing him, claiming that she had believed that her life was in emanate danger. Cyntoia Brown would end up being tried as an adult and convicted 1st degree murder receiving a life sentence with the possibility of parole after serving 51 years of her sentence.
