I was very, very nervous last week when everything started going wrong, because all I could think about was I was actually at a con when we were doing the episode, and I kept flashing to like, oh my god, who would take care of my animals? If this actually happened? What would happen to my animals? So I'm very happy this week. I don't know if you can see, but I

I kind of imagined it as something between a cyber punk yet magic the gathering angel in my mind. You know, I don't know. I'm obsessed with the whole angel looks. like an angel, and yeah, I look forward to this story. It's gonna be way different than anything I've ever role played. And this is a great this is a great crew. So and I was actually in the discord like reading everything and it was really it's really cool to read what everyone has to say in the table story discord. So that being said, I think it's time to load up your simulacrums and let's head on into our virtual world of New min Era, the Ninth World. On the last episode of simulacrum Our, players here loaded up their VRT rig betas a sort of haptic rig system, including a headset, gloves, and a sort of chest piece that had a

force feedback kind of sensation when they interacted with the world. To use of new min Era, the Ninth World, a sort of virtual MMO, a tabletop that they were able to go into and explore this world, and they

had the opportunity to create their characters and journey into this world. However, after a short amount of time when interacting with it, they were not unconscious, and when they awoke, they were seemingly able to interact with the world in a much more direct way and unable to exit or remove their VRT rigged betas Chat saw streams go dark for a moment, but only for a moment. Players, Please remove your headsets. Oh my god, did you just

realize you had that? Jay looks sake. No, that's just an unfair thing to do. So we all take our headsets off. Yeah, everybody take your headsets off. Pebe take yours off. Oh my god. Yeah. Okay, Chat, I want to make sure that we separate the players from you because there's some things that are happening right now. I'm going to let the players know not to look at Chat. Okay, So Chat, let's talk about what you saw last session, because there was a time when

you didn't really know what was going on. The players entered this world, you saw the streams go dark, but quickly after they came back, the streams were up, and any players that had cameras on themselves, aside from they're in game cameras, you would have seen the players in a much different light. There's some there's some streamers I think that have cameras for themselves when they when they do these kinds of things where they have this virtual environment,

just to see them flailing about and stuff. What you saw was them essentially slumping to the floor, falling to the ground with their rigs on, seemingly devoid of any response. I think immediately you would have seen Peebe's husband first react because they're in kind of a close space. You would have seen him run over check on Peebe as she fell to the ground. He would have checked her. He would have checked her vitals trying to get her to respond.

And that's where I'm gonna need to start role playing today. Chat. Start the role playing now. Chat. You've just seen Pumpkinberry fall to the ground, her husband runs into the camera, and you never see you never really see her husband ever on her streams you might catch a glimpse a glimpse of him. He's checking her vitals, and you see that he's taking off the VR t rig. You can see essentially that she is wide eyed,

believe it or not, but non responsive. She's blinking rapidly and you can see he's kind of yelling for her, and she doesn't seem to be responding. He pulls out his phone and immediately starts calling nine one one. As that's happening simultaneously, you see the the other streams have similar reactions. Probably in Jay's stream, next, you'd see Vio come into frame, rushing over and yelling, babe, babe. Vio rushes over to Jay and you see

you see her doing much the same thing, checking on him. She leaves on the VR t rig, being a bit wary of this whole thing, but she's calling nine one one as well. In nega Orx's stream, you see you see her slump to the ground. And this is probably the most worrying for you Chat, because I think most of nega Orx's followers and viewers know that she lives by herself. Does anyone in chat know nega ors Can

they reach out to one of her friends. What would you do on pockets stream, it would probably take a little while, but you might see her boyfriend run into the shot and check on her. He also does not remove the vrt rig beta and he's checking on her, checking her vitals and things. She is also non responsive. He calls nine to one one. And lastly, on myths stream, again, I don't think there's much response for a minute, but you'd see you'd see possibly one of his parents come into

the stream to check on him. They take off the vrt rig beta and they call nine to one one. As this is all happening chat in this sort of strange simultaneous event across these streams. This is happening on lots of Twitch channels the people that were invited to these betas, similar responses happening across There's a widespread panic that happens, and simultaneously you get insight basically, their their cameras, their setups that sort of blinked out for a moment on New

Miner the Ninth World are still live. You are still seeing all of the things that are happening to them as long as their streams are live, and that's when we're going to get everybody back. Well, that's different music.

Okay. So when last we left with the carecharacters, you had landed with a travel bubble, a cipher used by Pumpkin Berry and her character Corlai, heading to the town of Capford, and it was decided by the group that you were landing sort of on a roof in the town something along those lines, because we're invisible, right according to the because we're in our sphere thingy.

So this is kind of the look about the town. There's some I don't know if it's exactly rice, but there is sort of some rice farm kind of things happening, and there is a it's obviously like a lumber town. You can see that there's a lot of lumber stored in various places around the town. Do you land on a roof? Do you just land in a sort of inconspicuous area of town? What do you do? I think we were landing just out. Oh no, we were talking about landing just

outside. And then the point was raised that we're invisible, so we can just land on the rooftop if we wanted to. Yeah, like maybe on the edge of town or something. Because I brought up the point of like maybe we should land on a roof so we can like peer down at the people and see kind of like what kind of place we're in before just barging on into a town of strangers. We have no idea that could be like

marauders are scary people, things bad guys. I'm okay with that. If you guys want to like land on a rooftop outside on the edge of town, I think that's the best option somewhere with like really good handholds. Okay, and I will bring the bubble down, I guess, on top of a rooftop on the edge of town. Okay. As soon as you do that, do you release it? You know, once we can set on ourselves on the roof. Yes, I do. Okay, you land on the roof as soon as you That means that cipher is gone now right,

as soon as you power things down pops forever. Okay, But now we're here we ciphers. Thanks? No, uh what now? Well I'm gonna scan I guess right, because the bubbles, Yeah, we should stay low. Yeah, probably stay low. I won't open my wings. I guess someday we'll be able to use that. You're the cosmetics in you that you've paid for. Yeah, I hope it's worth it. I bought the Collector's edition, like the really expensive one that only like fifty people could get.

Yeah, I don't know, I kind of I kind of went a little all out' well they look beautiful, really cool. Yeah, but Jay, I think you really should have maybe bought the Collector's addition too. I don't know what's going on up there. Uh no, I'm that's just he likes to make meme characters in everything. Character smooch man, he's fucking ugly. Oh my god, really big lips follow up seventy six, really big lips. And I would be like, hmmm, give me a small cheek to

the all the MPCs as he's talking. I'm gonna crawl like to the edge edge of the roof and look down and and a little less inconspicuous if we just walked into town. But yeah, I'm gonna crawl to the edge and look down at like the street or can I see what, like what's below me? Perception check? I guess that won't. That won't be a perception check. You can just see below you, Oh okay, unless you're looking for something in particular. I wonder. Okay, maybe hmmm, what is

my understanding? Neumannara mean whenever you're interacting with new min era, yeah, and you are trying to figure out what it is, then you will be using that skill. Okay, okay, what do you see? I would I would like to do a perception check to like see if I can spot anyone and get like a feel for them. Beautiful, they want to m what do you mean when you say that? Like? Can I see anything about them? Do they look like they have a bunch of weapons? Are

they back like? Do they look like they're like rough and uh? Whatever? Do they look like normal townspeople that kind of like are their children around? Uh? Is it a bunch of drinkers? Like? Is this a pirate town? Is this a normal town type thing? What kind of creatures are they? Sure? I don't think you would have to make a role for this. They seem like hounds people moving about doing their daily work and

stuff. It's probably in the afternoon sometime, hm, so you know the people that might be getting up early to do their work might be finishing things up. Is there food nearby? I think you can probably smell some food throughout town. All of you would be noticeably hungry by now. By the way, my tummy growse as I smell the food and I'm like, oh, we've got to get food. Does anyone have money? Did anyone start with money? I don't know. How do we check? What is it?

Just like in our pockets? I have a little bit of money, but not a lot? I roam. Yeah, do we know how much stuff costs? Because I only have eight? But is that a lot? Here? Is that not a lot? Well? See, I kind of spent money on some of these upgrades. I guess I don't. I don't have a I didn't. I didn't start with a. We have three five chins, that's it? Yeah, I got I got four? Well you you know, don't you mith? Like how how much do you things?

Usually from down to town? But I mean like eight five to eight is about average or so. So I mean like if the eight what what what are they? Chins? Hin? Not chins chin? Yeah? I think we could probably go down there. We're gonna look fucking creepy if we just start climbing down the buildings something. They're like normal people. There's got to be like they're prepared for NPCs. Like, I'm sorry, I'm sure they're prepared for us, right, They're just NPCs. There's a game.

Yeah, they might not even notice. Honestly, Huh. I wonder if you walk up and they say the same NPC dialogue. I'm curious. Now. Yeah, there's like a kid that's walking by, like one of those little like I don't know what do they look like? By the way, Like, what are these people? Look like? A lot what you

might expect. I think the outfits are a conglomeration of a lot of different things you'd see people in sort of you know, canvas sort of attire, combined with maybe an artificial arm or some sort of strange energy floating about them. They're they're all a bit weird and a bit off than what I think you might expect. The whole world sets that feeling upon you. Are you guys gonna talk? You're talking to someone, You're just I'm hanging back if

you're talking to someone. As there's a there's a kid that walks by, and I'm like, hey, I hide, I'm kid. Yeah, I'm hiding. They look around, Oh look up up up this way like above you and like the sky is up. I'm up. They look up, go up, Hello, hey, hey, what's up besides me? I'm I'm I'm up clearly, But I need to get down. I don't know how I got up here. I don't know, I think, so how do I get down? Kid? Is there like a ladder? You got a rope? I can get you a ladder? Oh that would be I'll

pay me back. I promise it would be you a off. How did I get up here? I think I drank too much. I think it was a crazy night. See it was my birthday last night, and and so I drank too much. And I don't know why I'm up here, but I don't remember, honestly, but I should probably get down. I can see if I can find a ladder for you. Oh, that would be perfect if you could do that. So well, I mean if I if I lay on the roof and I hold you and you kind of it's outstretched, then you you drop far enough to drop and you'll only drop twelve feet. And once I hit the ground, you see he collapses into uh uh all Rick collapses into a roll and then gets up pretty quickly using the forward momentum, and I go, guys, okay, so that worked. That worked, And I just off a little bit of the mud and dirt from the coat. So if you want, I could try to explain it. Holy shit, that was amazing. What do you mean you can try and explain it? Now we have to yell it from all the way down here. No, well

mean we have to worry. We have to go fast because the kids, the kids coming back, so we have to we have to go now. If anybody will climbing down, I'm climbing down. No, I'm climbing down. And maybe one of you two can catch her, and we could we have both of you are okay, twenty feet up? Okay, I'm going to lower her down. From the moment Peebe touches my hands, I just instantly feel a lot more calmed when I'm getting very anxious and overwhelmed. If somebody kind of like puts a hand on me, it just kind of helps center me. And I take a nice deep breath and she slowly lowers me over the edge, and I just keep telling myself, You're

just on a Disneyland ride. You're just on a ride in a theme park, and it's all going to be over in a minute. And it goes so smoothly that. I don't think I even get a speck of dust or dirt onto your jacket, Myth because landing with grace and peebee, thank you, thank you, thank you. Oh my gosh, you were great, you were great, thank you. And then I'm going to try to get down. Oh yeah, how are you going to do that? And I'm going to do that. I'm going to try to do what myth did.

See if I can learn what I'm are you fasting to do? Just became a robot and you're going to jump off a building? Well, I'm curious to see. Maybe we don't have time. I'll explain later. So in watching what myth was doing, I'm trying to decide if it was like a you know, double tap forward and then I roll tumble role. I'm trying to see if like it was mechanically something I would be able to do even though me pb had no experience at

doing it. Do you consider yourself a graceful person? No, this feels different than when you try to perform a sort of acrobatic task in real life. You feel maybe more confident when you do it. You're able to move your body in a more intuitive way. You're able to sort of mimic what he did. Okay, wow, okay, well then yeah, I absolutely tumble down and gracefully roll at the end, almost exactly the way that he did before me, and then I stand up somewhat surprised and look down at

my body. That was pretty good. I should not be able to do that. I mean, I took gymnastics when I was like ten. That was that was cool? So maybe I want to be honest with you, I've done that only once on a one story in real life. So I did that? Was? That was impressive. We shouldn't be able to do this? How did you do it? A gamer, dude. I don't know. It didn't feel like I didn't feel like normal, if that makes sense. You know, when I'm on my roller skates and stuff like,

it felt different. Trying to stay up. I don't know. You have to control momentum and you have to and you have to make sure your speed that is going down goes forward instead, and that's the scariest part. So that was really well, yeah, did you clean on the system or did you do that? I think I leaned on the system. I was so there was a system then maybe I don't know. I just sort of did it and trusted that I would be able to do it, if that makes

sense. You know, like the matrix, we heard a game right what Yeah, this was like like the game like shut off and we were like, you know, maybe what we can do here is just reactuated of what we can do in real life, you know. Yeah, but like like six hours of us playing was actually only a minute and we're gonna back to our streams like, oh, hey, guys, I just went on an

acid trip because I don't know. I don't either. I try to access the menu in the chat again nothing nothing, okay, well, still nothing. I'd suggest it's at this point. It'd be at this point that the the young girls. She's probably like I would say, she looks maybe like preteen. She would come over and she's got this kind of strange looking like apparatus that she brings over. It looks kind of metallic and there's bits of

synth on it. And she's walking over with this thing and she says, hello, Hello, I poked my ho Hey, I'm still up here. She like puts this thing down on the ground. She slaps like a a something on the side, and you just see it kind of like just expand upwards towards the towards the roof and it just kind of leans forward like a normal ladder. Hum well, well that was easy. That hmm hm, well thank you, and I start climbing down. That was sick. How

did you get up there? I I honestly, I'm not even joking. I have no idea. I blacked I blacked out last night. And have you ever No, you've never drank right. You've never drank right because I wouldn't want to. I mean that's you can't write drink all the time, no, not like like alcohol or no, you have alcohol and neuminarimis it could any and yeah, it could be anything. They have weed? Can I do a knowledge based task? Can I do I know if they have

alcohol? Or what it would be called? Not knowledge based but understanding or yeah knowledge I don't know. Please make a difficulty to intellect check intellect. Okay, this is a knowledge based task. You have an inability with knowledge based tasks. Please use the knowledge based tasks. Die roll from your character sheet. Okay, knowledge based task? Uh huh uh huh okay, got it? Oh, difficulty too, ah, yeah, you have rolled in

eighteen. Who There's a really strange feeling that happens. It's difficult to describe that. I think there's a sort of disconnect for a second where your normal train of thought is focused on the task at hand, where you are trying to concentrate on the ladder situation everybody else, and then it pops into your head. You might know something and then it pops into your head. It just pops in there, and you note that, Yeah, as it does that, like I don't know why, but for some reason, my head

So I pretty much make two of those with the gadgets that I kind of have in my tool belt, and then I will sort of start to head over and then realize I have a woman holding my ears, and then pause and then kind of gesture with her to come with. And then I'll kneel down beside Jay and you know, put them over his ears, and

then I will go over to myth and do the same thing. So I think, as you've pulled these sort of strange motor like pieces, there's some kind of nanotechnology that bleeds out sort of like Iron Man kind of thing that happens, and it just kind of wraps around both of their ears. And then I will go back to cover my own ears and gesture that the woman

can stop holding my ears. Now she stops, this however, does not alleviate their condition, but I would like to gesture the woman to come back and hold my ears, and you still have a woman holding your ears. I think they were. I made her stock because I was like, why do I have her holding my ears? It doesn't make sense? And then I make her like hold my ears again. And then I want to lean down and try to do healing on Jay because I think he would be the

closest to me. Okay, have you healed Jacamerson already today? No? I know I held someone last time. I held Peb last time. Ah, you're okay, You're okay, You're okay. it if some sort of biological wire, and I start to fasten that, and then I kind of hold it up towards and then like you see, and I pulled a small vial that has like maybe a glowing piece of ore or something in it, and I pluck that out with some tweezers and I insert that somewhere in the device, and then it starts to boot up, like kind of like a pair of headphones, and then I put them over Peb's ears. One of them has like a has like a window cut out with a with some shutters, and the woman just like knocks, I guess, like pounds on the door, probably pretty loudly and forcefully, and you'll see you'll see the door open reasonably quickly.

There's an older looking man that opens the door. He's got on a robe and like a probably some kind of like weird sort of head gear that links up with the robe. It's not like a hood, but it's something some some kind of piece of synth that comes down across across the back of their head to connect with the robe. Yes, what's this going on? We need permanent ones of these? Can we? Can you make us these? But the one that you have? More visitors? I'm sorry but I haven't.

I'm sorry, more visitors. Yes, we have visitors come in fairly regular for lumber deliveries and such, but I don't have any any spare iotum left? How how much more? Excuse me? How much? So what I think happens here is it eats all of the ciphers that are there, and then it's fears itself. See this horrific uh short circuit sort of experience happen all across these devices. Each healing touch role has a difficulty, and every time you use healing touch on a character successively, it becomes one more step more difficult for the day, on the same character, on different characters, same character. Okay, so if I heal different characters, it's the same it's a low difficulty, but if I heal the same person over and over, it's more difficult. That is correct, though, don't fuck up over and over? J What the all? Right?

But you I can't control my ears getting fucking burst? That's true. Okay, I'll give you that one. But maybe I should just take this hit and save my healing later for myself, as I might need it as long as you're fine. doesn't like me. That's probably why, Okay, and then I'm I'm riding with her on the back back of the saddle thing. And then difficulty is two. Yeah, the natural twenty with plus four damage or major effect.

I'm just kidding. So I think what happens is you you get on onto this thing, and it seems to acknowledge you as you do, so it sort of puts its head towards the side as it did before when you when you when you pet this thing, this gallon, and it, uh, it makes us sort of like different kind of keening noise as you as you as you get on board, uh, and it kind of it makes it easier for you to get up on onto on on top of this thing. And it seems like it's no problem to carry both of you. And it's

pretty fast. This thing like takes off. All of them are very quick. As Peb's shoulder to where I see the bubbles and then I'm just guy, I'll just guide him according to where she's pointing. Okay, there, you make your way through the through the woods, trees like whipping past all of you. These things are fast. They're about as fast as a horse, and there's a. You know, there's branches and stuff flying over your head as you're making your way, and you can see the sphere is getting

closer and closer as you make your way through the woods. As you approach this area, you can see that the sphere seems to be resting in the ground somewhere ahead of you, maybe like one hundred feet away in the distance. What do you do? It's about one hundred feet away in the distance. Okay, what is it? It's a sphere? A sphere? Okay have you seen that movie Sphere? I don't know if I want to go near it? Okay, uh, okay, that's a big bomb to drop

their pocket? Like, is is it mechanical? Is it? You know? Are freaking? I do? Ellyfish gonna come out of it? What's happening here? I like to do a perception check if I can please make an intellect task difficulty four. If you have the perception skill, you can roll that? Can I? You have rolled a natural nineteen? Ahead of you through the woods, you can see that there are these three what are clearly metallic and synth uh triangular shaped panel that are kind of embedded in the

ground. And you can see that there are these circular holes in the ground as well. All about these panels. The panels clearly just don't fit in this scenario. There are obvious signs that this is something strange in the ground. Ah shit, is this a puzzle? Okay, stop, step steps up? All right. Oh I gotta tell you guys. Oh sorry, I was like looking that there's like, okay, let me see if I can. There's three metallic synth triangular shape panels embedded in the ground. Like

these circular holes all around these panels, but they don't really fit. And it doesn't really it just it looks odd. I think that you the crafters. Is it a machine? Is it a machine? It looks like a machine, doesn't it. Whenever I checked it out, I mean I heard you roll it was a freaking make please make an intellect task check. Okay. This is in regards to understanding New Minera. Okay, difficulty level four. Oh oh man, these are getting hard. Oh that is a natural

twenty. I need to say that more often. Wow, look at all these Look at these three roles here, so the uh these things are definitely the source of this sound. The they are New min Era. There there is something about this that is causing the sounds. From what you can tell, there are circles like holes in the ground around these triangular shapes, these New min Era. I think, judging based on this situation, you're able to tell that these circles aren't necessarily part of the new min Era. It's

quite possible that it is some kind of defense. Uh okay, I mean this is definitely what's causing the sound. Great, but it isn't a machine. That's what I need to know. Well, it's it's it's newman, it's part of the new min era. So there's okay. But the circles, they're like a defense They look like a defense system. They don't look like they're part of the actual Like someone put a defense system around these pillars. Dude, you rolled in that twenty. Is it a machine or not?

Dude, I don't. I would have never heard. I never heard a machine being told. So the word machine was never used. How's that? No, is it a machine? It's not a machine? Okay, Yeah, Like I said, the word machine never used, never heard the word machine. I'm going to assume it's not a machine. It's pillars with triangles and a bunch of circles. I'm going to assume it's a defense system and this is some sort of puzzle that's you ever watch tomb Raider, how

you've got to do puzzles and ship or whatever? Played that video game. I used to balcony and break her neck for fun. This is gonna be great. I got I got non working wings, I'll be fun, and I got heels. You know what, next time you have a migraine, I'm gonna walk closer. I just don't step on any circles. You see a circle, don't step on it, don't go past it. Just to be clear, the circles, now that you've gotten a better look, are kind of like holes in the ground. They're not like an actual circle.

Oh okay, I'm gonna try and like patrol around. I'm just gonna casually walk around and start to have a running perception check. Okay, I'm gonna signal myth, myth, come come with me. Let's check a little closer. What do these holes do as you approach, I swear to God of goblins or something pop out emerging from the holes. Nope, you see several spheres whoa from the ground around the New Man era? What did you do?

Got close? You said, those are machines. Holy sho. The gollen the gollin uh start to move a little bit uncomfortable, and the spheres begin to move. And what's weird is they actually move in a spherical formation, moving towards you, uh technom and Ulric. I think you were kind of moving forward. Yeah, I love that. Yeah, yeah, I I instantly use distant activation. You can activate or deactivate any machine you can see with in short range, even if you normally have to touch it or

manually operate the device. I instantly, vanish I recognized these sphericles, death stars, little death stars. Yeah, I think you recognize a sort of hostile like intent on these spheres as you can see these red lights powering up about them. And that's a good place for us to end today. Are you fucking kidding me? Wax Steven? All right, That's why I was so insistent on if they were machines or not. Pocket. I wasn't trying to be a dick, I just machine, So I wasn't going to tell

you it was a machine. I know, I don't know. It just a blanket term for anything that's not a machine. Just it works somehow. Yeah. Oh so if you use the term Newmonerra that it automatically kind of means not machine kind of yeah, kind of Okay, okay, could it could still be a machine, but unlikely the triangle parts at least not these little drones thingies. Nice drones or machines for sure. Holy shit. Ah
