Hey Friends! Welcome back to the Simply Faithfull podcast!

If you've ever found yourself in the place where you're wondering if you're too far gone from God, or living a life of faith; if ,even now, you aren't sure if you can even come back from where you are and get into relationship with God again or for the first time - the book of Zechariah is a must read for you, my friend! Why, you ask?

Zechariah's theme: Starting Over Is Possible!

What you'll find is a story of restoration. God shows His people that He will accept their broken pieces, and when they choose to return home from a place of exile and separation from Him, they will find:

• mercy
• grace
• abundance
• comfort
• strength
• guidance
• forgiveness
• peace

It took courage for those who chose to return from exile...of the hundreds of thousands given the opportunity to return to their homeland and reconcile again with God, only about 50,000 decided to go. I think it's because they knew what would be waiting for them when they got there:

• the temple had been desecrated
• the land was devastated
• the people had been defeated

Zechariah, a young prophet was used by God to show the people that restoration was possible! Shame could be set aside and replaced with shalom [peace]. God could and would dwell in their lives again!

Bottom Line: sin had left them separated from God for almost 70 years, BUT it was a temporary setback that ultimately did NOT change their destiny. All they had to do was choose to return to God, allow order to be reestablished in their lives - with God in His rightful place. Set pride aside. THEN hope steps in, and restoration begins!
