Welcome back to the Simply Faithfull podcast! Happy New Year, friends! I'm excited about this first episode for 2020, because I believe it will help so many of you, as it did I, to be okay with still working on some of the same goals we were working on last year!
Galatians 6:9 is such a reminder to us to keep pushing, pressing, and pursuing what God has for us to accomplish. There are so many reason some of us didn't realize some of our goals last year, and we may need to own some of the blame due to lack of discipline and good stewardship over what God has given us in our time, energy, finances, and relationships.
Paul wrote this letter to some of the first churches he'd started early on in his ministry. Word had gotten to him that they were starting to turn their backs on the Gospel, allowing everyday matters to seep in and take the up the space and place their faith once occupied.
In Galatians, He's reminding them it was faith in God that saved them and got them where they were, and if they abandoned it now their own efforts would not be suffice to accomplish what they'd started. Paul implores them:
- Stay Free from what God delivered you from
- Don't pick back up weak principles
- Don't trust in the limited power of the law or of yourself
- Bear one another's burdens
- Keep doing what is good!
I encourage you, if you're still working on the same goals this year...don't be discourages...keep going friend! I'm right there with you!
