I don't know if you can hear it. But my neighbor upstairs has been drilling, banging, and making all sorts of random noises for the last 3 days. I'm here trying to work. I've got video calls. I've got videos that I wanna make.
I've got other audio things that I'm trying to do, and there's this noise going on all of the time. This is pretty impossible. Now I'm the kind of person who really likes the idea of working from home. I think it's really convenient to roll out of bed and walk, you know, 3 seconds in my pyjamas, and I'm in my office. But when you've got noisy neighbors like this, it's a real pain.
And it does make me wonder, would my life be better with an office. Then I remember even when I was in the office it was like this. In fact, in some ways it was way worse. I remember being in an office in the middle of London, and there was crazy crazy noise in the street all day every day. And that just is not conducive to really good work.
What it encourages is sticking headphones on with noise cancellation and silent mode and blocking everything you can possibly block out of the world around you. And so what's the point of being in an office in that situation? There isn't one. So, yeah, here I am stuck at home working on all of the things that I'm trying to do, and I've got to put up with this noise. That's how it goes, I guess.
But hopefully, it will be done soon. I don't know when. And maybe life can go back to some kind of normal. Uncertain. Basically, there's a ton of building work also going on around in this neighborhood. We've had maybe 3 or 4 new whole apartment complexes being constructed. That's created lots of other problems, but the noise has been one of them too. So, yeah, maybe this is just my life now. Wish me luck.
