Hi there, I'm Diane Gorcell and I'm also known as Silver Disobedience and this is the Silver Disobedience Podcast. Today I want to talk about the idea of turning the page. One of my favorite songs is the song Turn the Page. So whether it's Bob Seger's original version, which is spectacular, or Metallica's cover, which is my personal favorite, whenever Turn the Page comes on the radio, wow, my mood gets pumped up. Even though it's kind of a slow,
Moody, intense song. Of course, while it might be painful to others and their ears, I start singing along. I know all the words and I really like that song, but what I want to talk about is not my bad singing, but rather that in life sometimes there comes that time when we have to choose to turn the page. Sometimes it could be many times when we have to choose between turning the page, closing the book, or taking the book all the way to the very end.
When we choose to turn the page, what we're really doing is we're choosing to transition in some way or another to move on, to go forth from maybe one roll to another, one position to another, one location to another, one mindset to another. It might involve making the choice to move from a negative to a neutral to possibly or hopefully a more positive situation if we've decided it's time to move on.
We don't need momentous events to trigger a turn the page moment, although it might be an event. I've got some hairs in my face, although it might be an event or a situation or a person that does cause us to decide that chapter's over. At any time in our lives we can turn the page. By making a choice to change something that would positively move us forward and create benefits in some way, we choose to turn the page. Maybe I just smiling. Smiling more is one way we can
churn the page. It can change all kinds of moods and how we're feeling in any particular moment. Choosing to laugh, laugh at ourselves to understand the absurdity sometimes of life going on around us. Embracing new friendships, maybe changing our work. Moving could be another example. Exercising. Choosing to turn the page by adding something more positive to us. Or conversely, eliminating something that's maybe an unhealthy habit.
The possibilities are endless. Maybe you've had to turn the page, close the book. Maybe you're determined to see it all the way to the end. Whatever you choose to do, here's something I know for sure about you. You've learned lessons. You've learned lessons along the way in any books you've been involved with because every book has at least one good lesson. I'm Diane Russell. I'm also known as Silver Disobedience. This is the Silver Disobedience podcast.
I try to keep these mini unless I'm interviewing someone, so they're little short takeaways for you. I hope you have a great day and I hope you subscribe. Thank you very much.
