Hi. I'm Diane gracel also known as silver to Speedy. Its welcome to the silver to speed Ian's podcast. I'm testing out some new technology today so I hope you can bear with me.
I just want to start off by saying that it's not easy today, we're going to be talking about trust and the fact that it's not easy to trust that things will work out the way we hope they might, you know, life regularly tests are beliefs in ourselves and the bigger master Lan. So if you're currently struggling with trust in any way, whether trust in yourself others situations or anything else, maybe some of these ideas
will help your faith. They do help me what I need to regroup, so maybe you two want to give them a try. So first, I want you to think about taking the practice of being mindful seriously. So what does that mean? It means simply stop. Like really stopping and taking a few deep breaths. So you can see if you can get yourself re grounded in the moment. And when we do this, it really helps to reduce anxiety about what might be happening in the future.
So we could try to do this together right now. So what you do is you simply just stop wherever you are unless you're driving a car and nobody wants to get rear-ended but just stop. Take a deep breath. And then let it out through your mouth. And even just doing one of those, I know you noticed the change, it does to your whole physical being. It changes your Your breathing your mental state just by going
in through your mouth. Any excuse me that was in through your nose and out through your mouth just give it a few tries and see how you feel. Another thing is, when negative thoughts arrive, I want you to try to reframe them in a more positive light. So, for example, instead of thinking this is never going to work out for me, try thinking I don't know how this is going to work out, but I trust that it will you know, something like
that something so simple. Can reframe your thinking and your sense of trust in how the world and your life specifically is unfolding. A next one is instead of worrying about all the things that are out of your control in your life. Take a moment to think about what you can control. So for example, when you have a moment, grab a pen and a paper and write out what you can control, so what can you control?
You can control who you speak. With the today, you can control whether you get up and show up, you can control what you eat, whether you drink enough water throughout the day. There's a zillion things you can control and taking the time to make a list of what is within your control, especially things that That move your life forward, positively can really help you feel more in control. Of your life, even if there are still factors, you can't control.
Another thing to think about is drawn, your past successes. So, here's something I know about you and I say this regularly even though maybe we've never met in person and that is, you have succeeded in every challenge life has thrown at you today. If you didn't, you wouldn't be here listening to my podcast or maybe even watching it. So I want you to draw on your Past successes by recalling. The times things did work out for you and maybe they even
worked out. Well, remind yourself in detail, how you were able to overcome past challenges? Because remembering wins that you've had in your life, can help rebuild confidence regarding your ability to handle, whatever difficult situation, you might be facing now. Another thing is find those friends or people that you can trust, you know, whether it's a friend, a family member, a therapist, you know, you need to be able to talk about your fears and concerns.
You know, sometimes we think that our thoughts running around in our head or these very real things, the fact is they are just thoughts. They become actions, they become real when we put them into actions but talking About our thoughts. You know, we all worry about what's going on in our heads. I mean, I'd hate to be judged for what goes on in my head and it, you know, I've heard that you have forty thousand thoughts a day.
Well, sometimes I think I double or triple that so don't worry about what's in your head but it is good to get it out and talk to someone to you that you can feel safe and secure with support systems can help you feel less alone, more confident and more confident in your ability to handle whatever challenges you're facing. Another one is talk to God, you know, God's a controversial subject these days.
I'm not exactly sure why. But I do believe there's some Force, whether you want to call it nature, your higher power. God, you're not alone. So no that you can ask for strength. When you feel that you are going it alone, there's other forces that can help you get through it. And lastly, did I happen to mention take a deep breath. That's one of my favorites. Let's stop and take a deep breath. Know that you can feel better by doing those simple actions. Give them a try. I'm Diane gracel.
