Episode description

The images of Brad and Angelina playing with her son in Kenya left the world absolutely gobsmacked after his shocking divorce with Jennifer Aniston. Now, we’re picking up where we left off in last week’s episode (“When Brad Pitt Met Jennifer Aniston.”)

The iconic Bradgelina—with their many kids, mansions, philanthropy and striking beauty—seemed untouchable and unbreakable at one point in time. We look back at their 12 year relationship and discuss the upsetting plane incident and child abuse allegations through the ongoing and contentious lawsuits and custody battle.

Plus, we check back with Jennifer Aniston and her relationship with Brad today.

Hope you enjoy. And if you're listening, you can probably already listen to last week's episode, which was about Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston. And this week we are covering the other relationship in this infamous or fame. Iconic. I don't know, Iconic. Say yeah. Love triangle, Which is the truly iconic Brad, Jelena, Brad Pitt, and Angelina Jolie. I thought this couple would never ever break up because they were so just untouchable in a way. I agree. I agree it.

It actually really saddens me that they're not together anymore, but. Just like Brad and Jen. I didn't know that much about them. I just saw the headlines. So I'm really excited to hear the whole story from you Mel. Oh my gosh. Once again, I forgot to come up with my 3 words. I'm like doing this on the spot. What 3 words would you use to describe Brad and Angelina? OK. Say, sensationalized sexy. That's that's damn true. And you know what? I might take this back, but I'm

going to say pretentious. OK. Why would you take it back? Because they are. I could have, said philanthropist, Which I think is a lot nicer. But I think they're also pretentious. About their. Philanthropy a little bit or just like about themselves as people, I think they did take themselves very seriously and. Their lifestyle. Yes, and they're. Better than other people. I don't know. I guess there are some things that will come up, you know, interestingly enough. Did I tell you this?

I think I did tell you this. This person who I was talking to, his roommate, is a realtor and was taking Angelina Jolie around to look at apartments. Like, a couple weeks ago, his roommate took Angelina Jolie around and said that she was a little standoffish. Oh my God. That's what I would expect of any celebrity. She was looking at apartments in New York for each of her kids. Wait one for each. I think so, or at least the ones that are like over 18. Oh my God.

OK, that is rich. That's insanely. Well, and not just like individual, like she was looking for multiple units within the same building. Oh my God, what neighborhood? I don't know. I I'm, I forget. I think it might have been the Upper East Side or something or West side. That's wealthy. That's wealthy people. You don't know New York that well. Oh my God. Imagine being able to get an apartment. Multiple apartments in New York. I can't even imagine being able to afford one.

Just one. I know. Imagine your parents just buying you an apartment for you. I hate that. I know. You know, I mean, we talk about like, oh wow, what if someday we could afford rent? In I know Manhattan, let alone purchase an apartment. Oh my God. That's crazy for each of your kids. Six kids. Wow. So yeah, we can just keep that in mind. Yeah, just in the back of our minds. Just remember that. But you said that this is a really sad episode. Or somewhat sad.

Yeah, this is a little bit. I mean I guess the last one was kind of sad too. But there will be some heavy topics that come up in this episode. So I do want to give a content warning. There is going to be mentions of suicide and self harm. Unfortunately, there will also be, of course, mentions of child abuse and domestic abuse which comes up later in the divorce.

And custody battles. So I did feel a little like since this is an ongoing thing and it is two parents, you know, icky and sad covering it so. I mean, there's a bunch of couples that I want to cover that I know would have. Dark aspects. To it like that so. Yeah, it. Happens, you know. It's it's crazy because this couple was just so.

In your face for so long, and I know their divorce is heavily publicized, but for some reason it also seems like people aren't paying as much attention as they used to. I'm not sure if that's the case or if that's just my perception of it. Alright, I will have to stop the episode right there. Thank you so much for listening

to the teaser. If you want to hear the full episode and many other bonus episodes, you can find them on Patreon.
