Episode description

When Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield first met on the set of “The Amazing Spider-Man" in 2011, they were both in relationships. But only a few months into filming, the two broke it off with their significant others, and soon, it was obvious they were into each other.

‘Stonefield’ quickly became the cutest couple in Hollywood, and both Emma and Andrew’s careers skyrocketed as they took on more challenging acting roles. Everything seemed perfect to outsiders—so what happened to this adorable, silly couple?? And where do they stand today?

Let us take you through Stonefield's entire timeline, featuring long declarations of love from Andrew, edibles at Disneyland, handmade signs for paparazzi, and a mysterious paper bag.

I think, Oh my gosh, keep that myself on the back. People loved. This couple so much. They did.

My sister Caitlin. I texted her earlier today and she said that she was devastated when spoiler they broke. My gosh, I know the pain. And we're talking about Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield today. Their love story? I see edits of them all the time. Oh yeah, you do. Yeah. Like a? Nice. Talking stuff. I good to hear. I think they're cute. I mean, I must confess to you guys, I've never seen a Spiderman movie. I've actually never seen a Marvel movie, if you can believe it. Ever.

It's impressive. Not one I I know at this point it's kind of intimidating. Well, you don't have to like. Superheroes. Or be into Spiderman to enjoy this episode. I hadn't seen The Amazing Spiderman, the Andrew Garfield versions. Actually, I had seen the Tobey Maguire ones, so I'm sure any, like super fans listening will be like, what? But I did watch it to prepare for this. Did you? Like it? So I I did. I mean, it was a little silly sometimes. A little bit.

Over the top occasionally, but it was a fun movie. And I mean I'll talk about it a little bit more later, but I didn't back in the day when they were together, I didn't keep close tabs on them or anything, but I was actually really sad when I heard that they broke up. I don't even know why. I just thought they were lovely, beautiful people and they seemed good together and I was sad when they heard about that they. Looked really cute together and I think they were two stars at

the time that. We were all just getting to know and they were very familiar faces to us, so it was comforting that they were dating. Yeah, you. Know I don't know why. Everything was right in the world. And like looking back, I feel like there was less strife at that time period. It's true. And it makes you wonder, you know, if they were together, would would things be better? Would our country be less? Divided maybe? If I did describe them in three

words, this was tough. Sometimes it's tough to think of this. I know I came up with. I would describe them as silly but also serious. Yeah, you know what I know. What you mean enduring? Enduring. I know what you mean about silly but serious? Yeah, cool. And I don't know why I can't elaborate but. They're just both somehow. OK, I'm going to get into it now. Before they met, Before they met, Emma Cetone was born Emily. Jean Stone actually named Emily.

She was born November 6th, 1988, two days before me. Well, not the same year, but very close birthday to me. She was born in Scottsdale, AZ. I don't know if we have. We had an Arizona person. Before maybe. I can't definitively say no, but. I mean now it's been this is our 51st episode, so it's getting hard to keep track. Her father, Jeffrey Charles Stone, was the founder of a general contracting business, and her mom, Krista, was a homemaker. And Emma has a younger brother, Spencer.

I read that for a couple years between the ages of 1215 they lived in Camelback in. A hotel in Paradise Valley, AZ. I'm not sure why. I don't know if their house was getting redone or something, but yeah, and Mom went to pretty regular grade school. She got all A's because she claimed she was controlling about it, but she experienced anxiety and panic attacks as a kid. And just like some other actors we've talked about, like Mila Kunis, she started doing theater to help improve her social

skills and anxiety. Yep. But I also read that she was interested in acting since age 4, so I guess both. That makes sense. Originally she wanted to do sketch comedy, and then she moved her focus to musical theater. She's actually very much a theater kid. I didn't really realize that until this. I can see that, I guess, you know, from La La Land. Yeah, yeah. Emma was homeschooled for two

years and then? And during that time, she was actually in 16 plays in Phoenix Valley's youth theater. Yeah, 16 plays in two years. That's a lot. Yeah. She auditioned unsuccessfully for all that. I. Didn't make it. I could have seen her on that. Me too. Yeah, this is that was a good show. Yeah, class. There's some, like, really classic sketches from all that.

Oh yeah, I loved all that. She only attended high school for one semester before homeschooling again to become an actress, and she actually made a PowerPoint presentation to convince her parents to let her move to California to pursue acting. Yeah, January 2004 she moved to. LA with her mother. As a teenager, people's parents are such pushovers. I mean, it worked out, but I couldn't make a PowerPoint presentation to convince my parents of anything. Alright, I will have to stop.

The episode right there. Thank you so much for listening to the teaser. If you want to hear the full episode and many other bonus episodes, you can find them on Patreon.
