Kelly today, we are covering Winona Ryder and Johnny Depp who I was just saying, I don't know anything about this couple. I know that people love them. I feel like I you start on Tumblr, see edits of them all the time, but obviously, it was before my time, I really truly. Don't know what happens. I've been wanting to do this couples. Since we first started kinda it's been like, top of my mind. Can't believe we're doing it because you love Winona. I love Winona Ryder, I'm obsessed.
I think about this earlier today. I feel like I really have what people say, but I don't know if they say it anymore. I don't know if it's like a girl crush. Try. Yeah, but okay, so would you say it's like an outdated term? Yeah. It's a little bit like 2015. What can what? Place, is it? It's like I have a platonic crush on her. Yeah, I'm obsessed with her. I'm inspired by her. I love her. I don't think there is a
replacement term. Well, I mean, platonic crashing sounds kind of lame but your friend crush on it. Yeah, I have some kind of Crash. I'm going on Ryder and I love her and yeah, do you have, do you have a friend crush? Like a girl crush? I mean, obviously Chris has sewer, but that I don't know if that's gonna. Yeah, there's there's like so many women who I really love and wish that I was it. Did your love for one in a rider stem from your For the 1994. Little Women.
Definitely starts there and it's one of my favorite movies of all time. What other movies do you really like with her? Heather's is awesome. Oh yes. Have you seen Heather? Yes. What did he look like? Huh, I just got that. Yeah, so many good lines from that movie. Yeah, those are like to my favorite movies. So, Mmm. Yeah, that's a mean thing. And I just watched two more this weekend because I realized like, oh, I have to Watch.
I can't be out here. We like I'm obsessed with her and I haven't seen like some of her major movies. So I watched to this weekend, which ones I already told you, so this is happening, but I watched Girl Interrupted and Edward Scissorhands, which also Stars Johnny Depp, which one did you like better? You know, that's tough actually really, really enjoyed both of them. Yeah, they were really good. I guess they're kind of different to. No, no, no, it's hard.
Maybe grow interrupted, you don't have to pay, okay. Anyway, the main reason I wanted to do this, and why I've always been fascinated with this couple is because of the famous Winona Forever. Tattoo have a really. Yes, I have heard of that, that giant iPad on his arm and then he changed to why no forever. And that always kind of stuck with me. Like I just always been obsessed with that because I love Winona. So like, wow, he got it. He he got it tattooed on his arm.
Yeah. How long were they dating when he got that? I'm sure you'll get into it. They will. They actually were engaged. They weren't dating for that long. A lot of engagements, a lot of broken engagement on this show. I feel like I've covered many. Okay, Ok to me. Yeah. What's up with that? Yeah, they were together from 1989 to 1993. Oh really not that long and what were your three words to describe them? Be my three words are. Intelligent. They just bolt seem intelligent
me intense. Hmm. And I know this is two words, but all-consuming boo ia ia. Yes, and guys, I do feel like I wanted to say this before. Going to, do you feel nervous about covering Johnny Depp? Yo why is Doug? Yeah a lot of people. Yeah. The list. Yeah, a lot of people wanted us to do him and Amber herb. I don't want to touch that with a 10-foot pole because I don't, I truly don't have an opinion on that. Yeah. Because I didn't really pay
attention to the trial. And it's like, it's like Game of Thrones or something. If you didn't watch it, you didn't watch it and you could get into it. But, like years later, it's not the same. Yeah, Kelly watch said, but like, it's like, I didn't follow the trial. Yeah, it's over now. Yeah, it's really intimidating. Eating to have to. It's huge. It wouldn't be very feel good. No, it's not. Oh, I know a lot of our episodes aren't good anyway, but it's going to come up in this
episode. Yeah. So we will get a glimpse of it. My sister Caitlin who was on the Jane Austen episode, she really knows the whole story. She was following it way, before anybody I knew like years ago, she was sending us like voice messages. Between them apparently and talking about it and then it kind of like became really mainstream. Yeah. I think it's like more of the popular opinion to be on Johnny Depp's side.
I know with all of that it does seem like that but I don't like I wouldn't want to like publicly be Like taking his side either. I mean not that there's anything wrong with the just like having your own opinion of it but like like my parents like they casually followed it in there. Like he's a jerk, he's awful. And I don't know. He probably is. Yeah. I think that I don't know. I know it's literally a trial but it's just so much. He said, she said, yeah, I don't know what the heck.
Yeah, exactly. It's kind of like, you know, it's like one of those situations to me that's like, you do. don't have to have an opinion every single circumstance and that's like one where I decided not to Yeah, me neither and there's so many people who are experts on that. That like I feel like we'd never be able to cover it. Yeah, I didn't get sucked in a little bit because it did come up in Johnny Winona's story. Yeah.
And then I ended up watching some videos of it because when I was actually mentioned and I was like oh my God yeah there was I thinking into it.
