So he's on the market. And so is Mariah. The year is 2001. They both are at the top of their careers.
I would say they both were just at the Grammys. I mean I'm just won four Grammys Mariah was nominated for one which she has many Grammys from the past several years Mariah's. 30 years old. Mmm. She's working on her, ninth studio album, charm, bracelet. And she supposedly reached out to Eminem Who is 28 to collaborate together on her album. I don't think anything came of it, though. I think there actually was a collaboration and in July of that year, Mariah was in the headlines.
After she had been hospitalized for what was described at the time as a nervous breakdown following the promotion of her film glitter. I don't really know where that falls in the timeline, but she was in the hospital for about a month and she attributed that to sleep deprivation from working 24-hour days. But yeah. So then the following year it's May 2002 Eminem's for studio album comes out and he has a song called Superman on it and there's lyrics. It's a straight from the hip cut
to the chase. I'll tell mother fucking slut to her face. No games say no names ever. Since I broke up with what's-her-face, I'm a different man kiss my ass. Am I too? Nice. Buy you ice bitch. If you died wouldn't bite you life. What? You're trying to be my new wife, what you Mariah fly through twice. The whole world is like what they did. They did. Yeah. And who else is Mariah? I know.
Are there any other things and so people were Were really I don't like flabbergasted flabbergasted. I think that's what he wants. Yeah, I Feel Like Rappers. Do do that. Like they name dropping their songs all the time. Like Drake has Kiki, didn't love me. And apparently, Kiki is a nickname for Kim Kardashian so people were like oh my God. Kim and Drake were together cheated on Kanye, West Drake and then Drake had a whole Feud with Kanye.
I know, I don't think so. Drake is also been in many feuds it like a section on his Wikipedia. I did. And I know. Yeah yeah he did he did. But that's that's what I think they want to get in feuds because it is unwrapped. Yeah, it's just a part of the culture. Yeah, that's why it's hard to even believe that this is real, like this View and then here's another song called when the Music Stops and he says, but there's way too much at stake for me to be fake. There's too much on my plate.
I done came way too far in this game to turn and walk away and not say what I gotta say. What the fuck, you take me for a joke, smoking crack before I do that. I'd beg Mariah to take me back. What? Oh, this is just so funny us women, I guess. But I was going to say girls, and I think if indefinitely, I feel like we're treading into territory people, wouldn't expect us to be, I know soon. But man, that is interesting.
Hmm. So then July Eminem is interviewed by Rolling Stone and the interview ask next Mariah Carey, you two were almost boyfriend-girlfriend weren't you. That's not funny. The phrase it like that. He said there's truth to that I don't want to say anything disrespectful because I respect her as a singer but on the whole personal level, I'm just not really feeling it. I just don't like her as a
person. I got to be honest, I learned a lot since In from it don't believe the hype I have respect for her but she doesn't really have it all together. I'll just say that and that she's a beautiful woman. I'm not so don't say I don't want to be disrespectful and then it's and--which the end. It was just a beautiful woman. Yeah. Yeah, exactly. He starts out. Nice annihilates right. Yeah. And is it nice? He's asking for it by saying that he is man.
So okay, then in December Mariah's, album charm. Bracelet comes out and she has a song called clown, which is seemingly about Eminem. The lyrics are I should have left it at how you doing. I should have left it at, I like your music too, and I should have never called you back when you pursued me. Me. I should have never given you my fucking to way. I should have never listened to your wolf. Who Stories the ones. I'm sure you told a thousand times before you should have never intimated.
