Episode description

Episode 580 of "SI Media With Jimmy Traina" is an all-Mailbag episode.

The show starts off with Jimmy explaining why the podcast was delayed this week and why there isn't a main guest. The "Traina Thoughts" segment featuring Sal Licata from WFAN and SNY follows the intro. Topics covered include the YouTubeTV-ESPN carriage dispute, the passing of NFL broadcaster Bob Trumpy, the Dodgers beating the Blue Jays in Game 7 of the World Series, Sal's interview with actress Sydney Sweeney and more.

Following "Traina Thoughts," Jimmy opens up the mailbag. This week, listeners had questions about Fox hiring Drew Brees to essentially replace Mark Sanchez on its No. 3 NFL crew, the performances of Joe Davis and John Smoltz throughout the Major League Baseball postseason, in-game manager interviews, Jimmy's process for writing his daily "Traina Thoughts" column, whether Jimmy hates a couple of New York sports media people, ranking the "Seinfeld" seasons and slicing a bagel.

[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome everyone to SI Media with a Jimmy Traina. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you so much for listening, a lot to let information and just give you at the top. [SPEAKER_00]: The pod came out a day late this week, so I just want to acknowledge that because I did get a bunch of replies on Thursday about where was the pod. [SPEAKER_00]: is coming out on Friday this week. [SPEAKER_00]: There's also no main guests.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I've sat on train of thoughts and then I'm going to do a mailbag segment and answer all of your questions. [SPEAKER_00]: The reason the pod is a day late and the reason why there is no main guest is because last Friday on Halloween, my dad went into the hospital. [SPEAKER_00]: He's totally fine now. [SPEAKER_00]: He's home. [SPEAKER_00]: No worries. [SPEAKER_00]: You don't need to send me tweets and best wishes and all that. [SPEAKER_00]: Everything's good.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I don't. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not saying this to alarm everyone. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm just giving you a heads up. [SPEAKER_00]: I didn't want to book a guest and then have to maybe reschedule postponed because he was supposed to come home Wednesday took a day off was all set to bring him home and then we found out Wednesday night he wouldn't be coming on until Thursday.

[SPEAKER_00]: So. [SPEAKER_00]: It worked out well that it didn't book a guess because I would not have been able to really record with anyone. [SPEAKER_00]: So thank you for bearing with me. [SPEAKER_00]: Like I said, he's fine. [SPEAKER_00]: We thought it actually was a best case scenario. [SPEAKER_00]: We thought you hadn't been feeling well for a couple of weeks. [SPEAKER_00]: Palpitations shortness of breath, no energy.

[SPEAKER_00]: We thought he might need heart surgery or a stent because he's gotten to in the past and this is how he felt. [SPEAKER_00]: It turns out he had very low blood numbers. [SPEAKER_00]: He broke Goldman is supposed to be 8.0. [SPEAKER_00]: His was 6.4. [SPEAKER_00]: They gave him blood transfusion Friday Saturday by Monday. [SPEAKER_00]: He was feeling great. [SPEAKER_00]: And then Thursday morning came home because Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, they did a bunch of tests.

[SPEAKER_00]: See what the problem was. [SPEAKER_00]: So he's fine. [SPEAKER_00]: I do want to say, only people on Long Island might get this reference. [SPEAKER_00]: And maybe people in New York City or the Treasury's area. [SPEAKER_00]: But St. Francis Hospital in Manhattan on Long Island. [SPEAKER_00]: The staff there couldn't be better. [SPEAKER_00]: My respect for nurses is [SPEAKER_00]: hard to describe.

[SPEAKER_00]: I am in all what nurses do and nurses should be making a million dollars a year minimum. [SPEAKER_00]: So that's all I have to say about that. [SPEAKER_00]: And you know, this isn't like no one there knows who I am or I have a podcast. [SPEAKER_00]: This is nothing like that. [SPEAKER_00]: I just say in France as hospital, you cannot ask for a better hospital. [SPEAKER_00]: So I just wanted to say that quickly before we get to the rest of what we got to do.

[SPEAKER_00]: So [SPEAKER_00]: Well, do you train the thoughts at the top of the sal? [SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot to get into with him because he's a YouTube TV subscriber. [SPEAKER_00]: So I want to get his mood here with the ESPN thing going on. [SPEAKER_00]: And then you guys sent me a bunch of questions that I'm going to answer in a male beg segment after sal.

[SPEAKER_00]: So we still have a full show and I still need to remind you that if you've missed any recent episodes, we've had some outstanding episodes and guests recently. [SPEAKER_00]: Brian Curtis from the ringer was on last week's show. [SPEAKER_00]: all of the sports media news going on. [SPEAKER_00]: He was excellent. [SPEAKER_00]: Lot of great feedback for that one. [SPEAKER_00]: Two weeks ago, Greg Olson from Fox was on the SI media podcast. [SPEAKER_00]: And he was great.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you're a hardcore NFL junkie, you'll love the pod with Greg Olson. [SPEAKER_00]: Lot of strategy stuff. [SPEAKER_00]: Greg is excellent on that. [SPEAKER_00]: So make sure you listen to that. [SPEAKER_00]: If you missed it. [SPEAKER_00]: And of course, our good friend, Christopher Maddug, Russo, was on the show three weeks ago. [SPEAKER_00]: So if you missed any [SPEAKER_00]: Make sure you subscribe or follow the pod.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you want to leave a review on Apple, I would be very grateful. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, we'll be back to normal things next week with the Thursday posting, a big time guest. [SPEAKER_00]: I already have a book. [SPEAKER_00]: And that's it. [SPEAKER_00]: All right, so we'll get to Salacata and train the thoughts right now. [SPEAKER_00]: Follow by a mailbox segment where I answer your questions. [SPEAKER_00]: All right, here, right now. [SPEAKER_00]: On SI Media with Jimmy Tran.

[SPEAKER_00]: All right, you're doing me now as he does every week for our train of thoughts. [SPEAKER_00]: Segment from WFA and already on New York as in YTV in New York. [SPEAKER_00]: My buddy Salacata and I cannot tell you how much I have been dying to talk to a live hostile. [SPEAKER_00]: YouTube TV subscriber, and we have Sam.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know what gave me comfort seeing JJ Watt go to social media and complain about it, and I then realized I'm not alone, and I do agree with him in that it's, you get to a point where it's just principal, enough. [SPEAKER_01]: So I did not watch a second of the month that I football game. [SPEAKER_01]: I couldn't. [SPEAKER_01]: I wasn't, I wasn't going to seek it out anyway. [SPEAKER_01]: I was watching the next, had I had access to it. [SPEAKER_01]: I would have had it on.

[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe this is a, a whole different point. [SPEAKER_01]: So YouTube TV also does not have MSG network. [SPEAKER_01]: So I, to watch the nicks have to have got them sports app, which is another issue. [SPEAKER_01]: But ideally, I'd like to have YouTube TV watching the nicks on one screen and have the multi view with the football game. [SPEAKER_01]: That's how I should be watching sports in 2025. [SPEAKER_01]: But because I don't have access to MSG, that's a separate app.

[SPEAKER_01]: And even if I did, I still couldn't access it because of the ABC thing. [SPEAKER_01]: So it's just, we get into a point where's attic and troll do. [SPEAKER_01]: It's got to stop. [SPEAKER_00]: I need to know what is going to be the thing that makes you snap. [SPEAKER_00]: Like I think you're okay missing a college football Saturday. [SPEAKER_00]: You're okay missing Cowboys Cardinals. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, this week is Packers Eagles.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know how you're going to feel about that. [SPEAKER_00]: And the next week, you could blow off the Monday night game because it's Cowboys Raiders. [SPEAKER_00]: But I don't, you know, maybe they'll be a Nick game exclusive on ABC. [SPEAKER_00]: Something has to come along, relying. [SPEAKER_00]: Do I make, do I get ESPN or no right now? [SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no. [SPEAKER_01]: So it's ESPN, any of you sit, any ESPN too, and the ESPN network is getting used.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think I think the, but again, like you say breaking point, I'm just at a point where I'm already broken. [SPEAKER_01]: What am I gonna do? [SPEAKER_01]: Are you saying breaking point meaning that, okay, well, you can't, you can't watch this game. [SPEAKER_01]: What are you going to do to make sure you figure out a way to watch it? [SPEAKER_01]: I can't do that. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, we've discussed this before.

[SPEAKER_00]: You cannot, you cannot, even if you wanted to, you cannot get Verizon Fios, correct? [SPEAKER_01]: Correct. [SPEAKER_01]: I have Verizon Internet, right? [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not eligible. [SPEAKER_01]: My area is not eligible to get the land stuff to cable. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: If you were eligible to get Verizon [SPEAKER_00]: Just because of this, I probably would have already had it. [SPEAKER_01]: Put it that way, right? [SPEAKER_01]: Put it already, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: I think, right. [SPEAKER_01]: Because you remember some people and I brought this up on radio. [SPEAKER_01]: And my partner's like, oh, well, did you save money? [SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, no, no, it's not about saving money, right? [SPEAKER_01]: When I moved my prior cable company, came in and gave me all streaming boxes for the service. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, well, this is not good.

[SPEAKER_01]: I want somebody to dig a wire from the tree to my house, drill the hole like I want the hard wire. [SPEAKER_01]: If you can't do that, then I might as well go with the best streaming service, which is Verizon. [SPEAKER_01]: And then the only option was YouTube TV. [SPEAKER_01]: So that's why I'm at where I'm at. [SPEAKER_01]: I really don't have an option. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't have another choice. [SPEAKER_01]: What am I supposed to do?

[SPEAKER_00]: Go back [SPEAKER_00]: Because, okay, I want to say a few things here. [SPEAKER_00]: First of all, take away the podcast just as your friend. [SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't do this on the podcast. [SPEAKER_00]: I would call you personally, and I would say, so if you can get files, you should just get files and cut the nonsense. [SPEAKER_00]: But you can't get files, so you're screwed in a matter of what you do.

[SPEAKER_00]: I was blown away because this has been a huge massive discussion on social media. [SPEAKER_00]: And when I went and looked it up, there are only 10 million subscribers in America to YouTube TV. [SPEAKER_00]: It's not that many, but there will almost be sports fans and I get it because the one thing [SPEAKER_00]: that no one else has, which is great is the is the multi-view. [SPEAKER_00]: It's the greatest thing ever. [SPEAKER_01]: So it should be standard.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's only 25 soon. [SPEAKER_01]: It should be 20. [SPEAKER_01]: It should be standard. [SPEAKER_00]: I can understand the person who tells me I have YouTube TV over cable because of multi-view more than the person saying I want to save money because at this point you're not even saving that much money because YouTube TV now I read is up to like 90 bucks a month. [SPEAKER_01]: So you touched on a key thing.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think most people here when I say, well, I have YouTube TV, they think you're a core cutter and you're trying to save money. [SPEAKER_01]: That's not the case. [SPEAKER_01]: There are a lot of spots. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not opposed to that obviously, I'd rather say money. [SPEAKER_01]: I prioritize, in this case, getting the fucking best service I can get. [SPEAKER_01]: I want you to connect the damn line to the back of my TV.

[SPEAKER_01]: If you can't do that and I can't get that done, the only option I had is YouTube TV and the Gotham app and streaming. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't like it, but one of my supports, you, but, and that's my point about the cost. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, this theory that the cost of YouTube TV is so much cheaper is just bullshit because here you are. [SPEAKER_00]: As a YouTube TV subscriber, paying whatever your basis at $90 a month, $85 a month. [SPEAKER_00]: But you need to have the Gotham app.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like, if you have files, you don't need any Gotham app. [SPEAKER_01]: It's all new. [SPEAKER_01]: You know how much the Gotham app is a month? [SPEAKER_01]: How much? [SPEAKER_01]: 30 bucks. [SPEAKER_01]: No way. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm paying $30 a month. [SPEAKER_01]: It's like 20, something might be 29, whatever. [SPEAKER_01]: Could be 24 if I'm mistaken. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm pretty sure it's 29. [SPEAKER_01]: Whatever it is, a month. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't even watch the ranges really.

[SPEAKER_01]: But I get access to Nick Spranger's Islander's Devils. [SPEAKER_01]: It's additional if you wanted nets and Yankees, which I don't need to. [SPEAKER_00]: Again, it's it. [SPEAKER_00]: You may, well, well, well, well, well, well, stop the clock. [SPEAKER_00]: You have to pay additional to get the Yankees on the Gotham app. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it might be like there's a total bundle fee for all of the things. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, this is ridiculous. [SPEAKER_01]: This is ridiculous.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm whether Yankees nets is separate. [SPEAKER_01]: So again, I would never in a million years. [SPEAKER_01]: want to have the app, just to stream Nick's games, but because of YouTube TV, I have no choice. [SPEAKER_00]: I can't even, I can't even continue with the pod. [SPEAKER_00]: My mind is so blown that you have to pay extra for the Yankees on the God. [SPEAKER_00]: Because when you watch a Yankee, well, they tell you to do his go to the Gotham app.

[SPEAKER_00]: And now you tell me you've got to pay extra for it to get it in addition to the Nixon range. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, well, now, [SPEAKER_01]: OK, keep in mind, if you have a cable provider that you have the yes network on or MSG, you can just stream on the Gotham app for nothing. [SPEAKER_00]: Right, but if you have a cable provider, why do you need the Gotham app? [SPEAKER_01]: Well, right, just if you want to stream on your iPad or whatever.

[SPEAKER_00]: So somewhere, again, the words in the words of the great Howard Stern drop from the iconic Fred Norris. [SPEAKER_00]: This is getting to be regardless, it's added control. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm actually, I might even be in more of the minority than the 10 million, like, somebody please help me. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm begging somebody to help you. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm trying. [SPEAKER_01]: I'll give you my money, give me a good service.

[SPEAKER_01]: And by the way, even that app, [SPEAKER_01]: It's not great. [SPEAKER_01]: Think about this in 2025. [SPEAKER_01]: I, if the Nick game starts, for example, at 730, but I don't walk in my door from my two jobs until 745, I can't even start the game from the beginning. [SPEAKER_01]: That's ridiculous. [SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't even work as a DVR. [SPEAKER_01]: I have to wait for it to end, and then whenever they post the whole thing, I could go back and rewatch it.

[SPEAKER_01]: But that could be the next morning. [SPEAKER_01]: It could be a one on the morning. [SPEAKER_01]: Like that. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's just one issue that I have. [SPEAKER_00]: Do you know, top of your head, what you're paying a month for everything for YouTube TV and whatever you're paying for streaming. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to guess and say, no, that doesn't you're not counting the internet or we are counting the internet.

[SPEAKER_00]: Not to internet just for your, you know, you're netflix, your Apple TV or [SPEAKER_01]: We have Netflix, we have HBO. [SPEAKER_01]: I now have Gotham in next season and YouTube TV. [SPEAKER_01]: I'd say YouTube TV is about, let's say 80 bucks. [SPEAKER_01]: It always change, it always goes up any day. [SPEAKER_01]: Do you have Hulu or you have the bundle? [SPEAKER_01]: Do you have peacock or paramount? [SPEAKER_01]: Currently right now.

[SPEAKER_01]: No, I thought that you have Apple TV. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, but that I think comes with my Apple music subscription and all that you pay in for it some way. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's just like if you add all that up you're not paying any less than I am a cable, which is my point that I'm not doing it to save money right I'm doing it because it's the only option I have what would I even if I had cable, it's still probably have to have.

[SPEAKER_01]: Netflix, I could get HBO through cable, you get all those ports up through Disney plus and that whole bundle that's a separate thing anyway, right. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: Need to pay for Apple. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I want to say two quick things about the JJ. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, I think because there were two things one. [SPEAKER_00]: I was blown away because JJ walk in a Ford cable, like JJ, just have cable.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, what do you, what do you fussing around with for Cocktail YouTube TV? [SPEAKER_00]: The other thing is, I think, so when I post that video, I think people misinterpreted it, like, a lot of people took it to, like, say, like, he was bashing ESPN or, like, the ESPN app. [SPEAKER_00]: No, it was just the general, this is why I despise watching things on streaming because it's always with your log in to scan this QR code put in this code go to your email, it's a disaster.

[SPEAKER_01]: All right, well, that the other issue, the log is, somebody needs to invent one spot, you know, you can consolidate your debt, consolidate my science and my streaming apps and you make a fortune on it. [SPEAKER_00]: I never thought they would have blocked out the money and I football game, so, and the rating got hurt, so we'll see, you know, we're taping this on Thursday. [SPEAKER_00]: The pod's gonna come out Friday.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I would be shocked if another Saturday of college football is wiped out, but, you know, now, I mean, I've gotten it wrong every step of the way, because I, you know, I didn't think what happened, but here we are, all right, let's move on. [SPEAKER_00]: You got destroyed from people on Twitter and people emailing me about going trick or treating. [SPEAKER_00]: at three o'clock in the afternoon.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what kind of feedback you got, but when you revealed that last week, you know, it's very rare on the internet where there's 100% agreement. [SPEAKER_00]: It was 100% agreement. [SPEAKER_00]: I got this email here from a from a listener Troy Sloan White. [SPEAKER_00]: Hey, Jimmy up here. [SPEAKER_00]: We're looking at the gentleman and buck Martinez broadcast on sports net up here. [SPEAKER_00]: Trick retreating starts at six o'clock.

[SPEAKER_00]: Salad at three o'clock is a rough luck. [SPEAKER_00]: Everyone said you are insane to go trick or treating three o'clock. [SPEAKER_00]: So tell us about your trick or treating. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, maybe I was all fine hour, but four o'clock started and there was this time it was designated areas. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't see what people don't get. [SPEAKER_01]: You knuckle heads that are disagreeing with this.

[SPEAKER_01]: If you have a four year old child, you're not going trick or treating after dark, you in the sills. [SPEAKER_00]: All of you, I don't, I do not talk to my listeners that way. [SPEAKER_01]: All of them, number two, the people that are tweeting, you don't take a four-year-old out after dark on alcohol. [SPEAKER_01]: Why? [SPEAKER_01]: She's not going by herself. [SPEAKER_01]: You're going to be with her. [SPEAKER_00]: You don't do that. [SPEAKER_00]: That's just six or maybe a sense.

[SPEAKER_00]: Six o'clock at night, you could go hollow, you could go trick a treating with a four-year-old. [SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no, absolutely not impossible. [SPEAKER_00]: 100% on one side, zero percent on yours. [SPEAKER_00]: You're all wrong. [SPEAKER_00]: Sorry, love you guys. [SPEAKER_01]: All wrong. [SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, so maybe three was early, but it's at the latest four or five.

[SPEAKER_01]: And now, we are now, there's a specific neighborhood that has houses and blocks that are dedicated to trick or treating, which is bizarre. [SPEAKER_01]: I never had that growing. [SPEAKER_00]: So the one good thing about my dad going into the hospital on the Friday was I didn't have to deal with the trick or treat us a Halloween. [SPEAKER_01]: Did you leave a bowl out front? [SPEAKER_00]: No. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, you know, it was a friday was a it was a shotgun situation.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, but it was like Halloween didn't exist from here this year. [SPEAKER_00]: So, that was one upside. [SPEAKER_00]: All right, I don't know how into the Falcons you are this year, but you know, they play Sunday at 930, will you be watching? [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I will be watching that game, but like not locked in watching, but yeah, I'll be watching that game. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm interested with the Colts could do. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not sure what the Colts are.

[SPEAKER_01]: So, I think that's an interesting game. [SPEAKER_01]: Falcons, frankly, we know that there are chance to beat the Patriots, of course, [SPEAKER_01]: the miss section point. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if I love the Slate overall this week, but that's actually one of the more interesting games for me. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm a little older than you so I don't know if you have the appreciation. [SPEAKER_00]: I was bummed when I saw the news that Bob Trumpy had passed away.

[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't even see that, but I remember him at the voice of Notre Dame on Westwood won for, uh, on the fan of those years. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay. [SPEAKER_00]: I didn't really, well, when I remember when I started getting into the NFL early 80s, obviously CBS had mad and in summer all, but NBC, because it wasn't Fox [SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, and Berg, and he did a lot of games at Merlin Olson. [SPEAKER_00]: But Trumpy, I think, was on that beat team with, like, Don Crickie.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I think Trumpy over the years worked with Marv, he ended up working with Embberg. [SPEAKER_00]: I think at some point, and he just had that voice that was made for football. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm pretty sure when I first started at the fan and I would be running the board we on Saturdays we carried Notre Dame Games on our air and I'm pretty sure he was the voice of that. [SPEAKER_01]: It's either that or maybe some NFL games I'm getting it mixed up with.

[SPEAKER_01]: But I thought he was in a Notre Dame at that. [SPEAKER_01]: It's going back to like 0 4 0 3 0 4. [SPEAKER_00]: I think it was the NFL he did on Sundays. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think it was Notre Dame, but he definitely did NFL on the radio. [SPEAKER_00]: with Westwood one for sure, but you know, if you say to me, you know, who are the end of health voices of your youth? [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he's in the top three for short, top four with NBC all those years.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I was bummed to see that news. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, news came out on Thursday. [SPEAKER_00]: the IDSPN was ending their partnership with ESPN bet and they're going to partner with draft Kings. [SPEAKER_00]: And when I saw the news, my first note was like, why I don't know why anyone cares about this. [SPEAKER_00]: And number two, I know nothing but degenerates. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know one person who's ever used the ESPN bet.

[SPEAKER_00]: Have you ever heard of anyone who's used the ESPN bet? [SPEAKER_00]: Everyone just uses draft Kings a fan to my buddy diesel. [SPEAKER_00]: He goes into like bed MGM and Caesars and all the end [SPEAKER_01]: I've heard of it. [SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, I've seen the commercials and heard about it. [SPEAKER_01]: No, I don't, but I don't use, I've only used one. [SPEAKER_01]: I shouldn't say that in my life. [SPEAKER_01]: I've used multiple, but no, I've not used that before.

[SPEAKER_00]: How are we doing with the betting these days? [SPEAKER_01]: uh... this week i went to at a three which ended up losing the money because i tied in the giants i had the giants over the night i had the stealers over the cults the bills over the chiefs and the freaking giants over the nighters so two good ones two yeah exactly and nothing to show for it that drives me up a war that's why they did parlay yes but well because of because also the giants was

[SPEAKER_01]: So I lost which is room the whole day and then I got to see the Steelers catch and this in the bill's case. [SPEAKER_00]: So what can I do to get you to stop betting parlays? [SPEAKER_01]: It's not it's just I like doing it. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I wasn't even by the way, it wasn't even just that. [SPEAKER_01]: Those were just parts of it. [SPEAKER_01]: But they tied in.

[SPEAKER_01]: If I bet the giant straight, if I won the giant straight, I would have been rolled more on the next suit. [SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean? [SPEAKER_00]: I had a terrible week. [SPEAKER_00]: I went to in seven and the one one of the two wins was the Niners hate to talk off. [SPEAKER_01]: All right. [SPEAKER_01]: I get sucked into the giants thinking that they were going to be and also the Niners with Mac Jones.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know they've been good, but I just didn't think the Niners would lose two in a row. [SPEAKER_00]: And I all think the giants went out neighbors and scattered boo with that good. [SPEAKER_00]: So yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Will you into game seven of the world's series? [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: I was out that night, but I came home in time to [SPEAKER_00]: You know, I guess you, if for us to say this, you're a med fan, I'm a Yankee fan.

[SPEAKER_00]: So we both have teams that have ridiculous payrolls. [SPEAKER_00]: But there is something joyless when you have the Dodgers speeding. [SPEAKER_00]: And the bludges have a high payroll, too. [SPEAKER_00]: But it was like, you know, everyone gets so wrapped up in like greatest world series, greatest world series game. [SPEAKER_00]: One of the best world series games, one of those, and my take is like, it's just so bad that the Dodgers won.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, I could see that it was a great series, though. [SPEAKER_01]: I love the back. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, without a doubt, it was a great drama in the games. [SPEAKER_01]: And where's the joy or the fun in the Dodgers winning? [SPEAKER_01]: My main takeaway was how gut-wrenching that was from a Toronto sense. [SPEAKER_01]: I would rather as a metspan who hasn't seen them when a world series in nearly 40 years, I would rather not make it.

[SPEAKER_01]: get that close within you have a one run lead in game seven and you'll be a blow it after, you know, not being in for 30 years. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if I'd say I wouldn't want to make it. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I don't know, I'm not saying you're wrong. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I actually think you could be right. [SPEAKER_00]: I'd have to really think it out.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I do what I do know is that when you have the loss like that, it will never, ever, ever leave you. [SPEAKER_00]: Like I still to this day, 20, it's 20, 25. [SPEAKER_00]: 24 years later, like I don't go many days when I'm thinking about the 2001 loss to the Diamondbacks. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's after you won three straight. [SPEAKER_01]: Right.

[SPEAKER_01]: So imagine not even being in one in 30 years, like the blue jays, then you get all the way back, you get all the way there, you're right there off like, [SPEAKER_00]: I see the word diamond backs, and I'm triggered. [SPEAKER_00]: I instantly go right back to that game seven in 2001. [SPEAKER_00]: Like it just never leaves you. [SPEAKER_00]: So like you said, for the BlueJay fan, this will never ever leave them. [SPEAKER_00]: That's a hard one.

[SPEAKER_00]: Which is also in a sick, perverse way, the beauty of sports. [SPEAKER_01]: Correct. [SPEAKER_01]: Most of sports, most of being a sports fan is misery. [SPEAKER_01]: So there is a part of why at least you enjoyed the run. [SPEAKER_01]: Sure, you could have enjoyed the run in lost in six. [SPEAKER_01]: You could have enjoyed the run in lost game seven in the blood. [SPEAKER_01]: To enjoy that run, have the lead, right? [SPEAKER_01]: Expect that you're gonna close it out.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, Miguel, roll off. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, I will say this. [SPEAKER_00]: I would rather lose. [SPEAKER_00]: the way the Yankees lost in the O4 ALCS, where in game seven it was like 40 to 1, right, then to lose that. [SPEAKER_00]: That I'd rather have, you know, right, to similar thought process. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: All right.

[SPEAKER_00]: Anything you've seen, anything you want to note before we wrap it up here and anything you watch, I haven't watched anything, because I've been in the hospital since Friday, but so I've been out of the loop. [SPEAKER_00]: You realize how out of the loop, [SPEAKER_00]: when you miss a couple of things here and there, but I don't think you miss much. [SPEAKER_01]: I know if you watch in the A-Rod documentary that airs tonight. [SPEAKER_01]: I know you're probably walked in at that.

[SPEAKER_01]: I couldn't have less interest. [SPEAKER_00]: I could not have less interest in anything related to Alex Rodriguez. [SPEAKER_00]: I think this will be interesting. [SPEAKER_00]: Give it a [SPEAKER_01]: There's just nothing there. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think they did a good job this post game. [SPEAKER_01]: I started to establish themselves a little bit as a show. [SPEAKER_01]: Not my leader, leader being more open. [SPEAKER_01]: I liked it. [SPEAKER_01]: Cheater.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, well, I'll listen. [SPEAKER_01]: I have no issues with cheater. [SPEAKER_01]: Do you know, we never talked about this. [SPEAKER_01]: Do you know what Sidney's queen is? [SPEAKER_01]: Actress. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I had her from the radio show last week. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, I was not familiar with a lot of homework. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not familiar with any of her work. [SPEAKER_01]: It was a weird spot, but then I started to do some research.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I tried watching the show you for you. [SPEAKER_01]: I couldn't get into it. [SPEAKER_01]: So it's just not my thing. [SPEAKER_01]: But she's in a new movie. [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe I'll check that out. [SPEAKER_01]: I know she's, wait, was she in studio? [SPEAKER_01]: No, you would have known about that. [SPEAKER_01]: I would have sent you pics about that. [SPEAKER_00]: Wait, so, wait, I know, I'm like you. [SPEAKER_00]: I know she's in you for you.

[SPEAKER_00]: I've never watched you for you, but it's supposed to be good. [SPEAKER_00]: You didn't, so you didn't like you for you. [SPEAKER_01]: It's just not, I can't do it at this point. [SPEAKER_01]: My wife and I tried to get into it the first episode of the other night. [SPEAKER_01]: It's just not teenage drug issues and as a dad now, I just I don't know if that was part of it. [SPEAKER_01]: I just don't have the bandwidth to dive into it, but I heard it was fantastic.

[SPEAKER_01]: And what else is she been in? [SPEAKER_01]: uh... she was in white lotus the first season of that which i didn't want it i'm not a hundred percent certain on it was using a commercial you might have heard about the thing you know yeah like that's how i know are more than anything is because she was in a commercial way of people got all up and that a shape about some non-sponsor something [SPEAKER_00]: What's the right? [SPEAKER_00]: So she wasn't in studio.

[SPEAKER_00]: She was on the phone was she a good guest. [SPEAKER_01]: She was very good bubbly open and why was she on exactly? [SPEAKER_01]: She's promoting a new movie. [SPEAKER_01]: She plays a boxer at female boxer. [SPEAKER_01]: So the Chris Christie something or Christie something. [SPEAKER_01]: Have you seen that movie? [SPEAKER_01]: Not yet. [SPEAKER_01]: It just came out. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to go see it on the theater. [SPEAKER_01]: I'll see it at home.

[SPEAKER_01]: But I answer, we had her on, she's talking about how she's a sports fan, I'm like, all right, we're rooting for. [SPEAKER_01]: This is during the middle of the world series and she wouldn't give an answer. [SPEAKER_01]: The next day, she shows up at Dodger Stadium and she's got a Tony jersey on. [SPEAKER_00]: Why can't she say she's rooting for the Dodgers? [SPEAKER_01]: Well, and then somebody was like, well, maybe she wasn't.

[SPEAKER_01]: They just the PR team put a jersey on her when she showed up. [SPEAKER_00]: That makes sense too. [SPEAKER_00]: But just say who you're rooting for, say I don't care. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, either I don't care, pick a team, you like both teams. [SPEAKER_01]: It was just politically. [SPEAKER_00]: How long did she give you? [SPEAKER_00]: 10 minutes. [SPEAKER_00]: How in advance did you know you're interviewing her half hour.

[SPEAKER_00]: I would be able to do that. [SPEAKER_00]: I'd have no questions for her. [SPEAKER_01]: It was tricky. [SPEAKER_01]: It was tricky, but we knew we knew it. [SPEAKER_01]: She was promoting and I knew enough.

[SPEAKER_01]: to, you know, the, the, the challenging part of that interview was not only the lack of info, but not to either get political or pervy, because you want to make sure the guys on the show will all not just tell me, you can, you can ask her about the commercial without getting political. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, well, I don't know. [SPEAKER_00]: You're at the center of the storm, how did it feel? [SPEAKER_00]: You know, that's all. [SPEAKER_00]: It was ridiculous.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you could get it. [SPEAKER_00]: But I asked her. [SPEAKER_01]: And since I've learned more about her, but I asked her what it's like to be one of the most famous, desired women in the world. [SPEAKER_01]: And she's cool. [SPEAKER_01]: I think I'm not saying by me, I'm saying in general, big sex symbol, all that's up. [SPEAKER_01]: She plays it all. [SPEAKER_01]: If I go, I don't like it, I'm in Idaho, wherever those are Iowa, wherever she's from.

[SPEAKER_01]: And then like since then, I see her provocatively eating a hot dog, you know, the pictures without any brawn, like I'm right, right? [SPEAKER_01]: She plays the part pretty well, you know? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I just, I mean, I would, I would get into a full blown conversation with him. [SPEAKER_00]: I just, I'm just so not familiar with anything about her, except I know she was in euphoria.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know she's in a commercial like how people bent that at shape, but I know she's attractive. [SPEAKER_00]: Like I have that, I'm too old for that shit.

[SPEAKER_00]: Basically, you know, but yeah, I'm more fascinated by [SPEAKER_00]: Like if someone said you have to interview Cindy Sweeney in 30 minutes, I don't know, no, no, no, that'd be rough because I went, no, what to I had a little bit of a heads up like the week prior sitting, hey, I'm trying to get Sydney Sweeney on Rob's going to happen. [SPEAKER_01]: And then it just went away until that day, he's like, hey, she's available, something fell through, she's come on and half out.

[SPEAKER_01]: That that was how it did you tell your life. [SPEAKER_01]: I did this is the back door of the story I'm glad you asked. [SPEAKER_01]: I texted her. [SPEAKER_01]: and just said, hey, talk to Sidney Sweeney on the phone today, and she gave me the thumbs up, not even an emoji, just liked what the thumbs up, the text that I sent, nothing else. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, just for that, that I use, I see that signal to me is like, I'm busy. [SPEAKER_00]: Your bothering me.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't care what you have to say right now. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly, that's horrible. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, it's not even like, oh, why? [SPEAKER_00]: Why would you talk to her? [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I like her. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I don't like her. [SPEAKER_00]: Can you something? [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not trying to downplay you interviewing Sidney Sweeney, but I do think there's a big difference on the phone in studio. [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe 100%.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you said, if you were to say to your wife, I had Sidney Sweeney in studio, [SPEAKER_00]: I think you would have gotten more than the thumbs up emoji. [SPEAKER_00]: You might have gotten a, find yourself. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, notice, I didn't say we interviewed Sidney Sweeney. [SPEAKER_01]: I said, I talk to Sidney Sweeney on the phone today. [SPEAKER_01]: Trying to, you know, yeah, having, yeah, that needle's not working.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know fence, but you're not, Sidney Sweeney's not dating Salacada. [SPEAKER_00]: I feel like she didn't buy that either. [SPEAKER_00]: Uh-huh. [SPEAKER_00]: In studio, it's a whole different pocket. [SPEAKER_00]: All right, take it out. [SPEAKER_00]: Let me know what the next starlight you interview on your show. [SPEAKER_00]: If you can break it down, and we will see you next week. [SPEAKER_00]: I do. [SPEAKER_00]: All right. [SPEAKER_00]: All right.

[SPEAKER_00]: Always fun to chat with. [SPEAKER_00]: So now let me chat with you like I said. [SPEAKER_00]: I will be answering questions you guys sent in for me in this mailbox segment and I should be doing this more often, but we got it this week. [SPEAKER_00]: So let me tackle what you guys have thrown at me as I dropped my phone. [SPEAKER_00]: All right, here we go. [SPEAKER_00]: Two questions came in sort of along the same topic. [SPEAKER_00]: Let me give them to you, Michael.

[SPEAKER_00]: Benevento asks, is there anything more useless than when media members that cover games on that tweets relaying plays that have just occurred in said game? [SPEAKER_00]: It's like they're doing play by play via tweets. [SPEAKER_00]: Anyone following them is likely [SPEAKER_00]: watching the game. [SPEAKER_00]: And then I got another question here from Kyle Moli, who says, has there ever been a worse idea in sports than the in game manager interview between innings was bad enough.

[SPEAKER_00]: But now during the game, we need to get rid of all side line reporters, interviews permanently, it has reached the point of no return and offers the viewer nothing. [SPEAKER_00]: So we got [SPEAKER_00]: media members tweeting out stuff during games and in game manager interviews.

[SPEAKER_00]: I will say, in terms of media members sending out tweets relaying plays that have just occurred, I'm not going to bash, I don't think they should be doing like full blown play by play, but the whole point of Twitter is let's say you're not home. [SPEAKER_00]: You're not in front of a TV. [SPEAKER_00]: You're out to dinner. [SPEAKER_00]: You're online picking up dinner. [SPEAKER_00]: You're online at the grocery store. [SPEAKER_00]: You're running errands with your kids.

[SPEAKER_00]: I have no issue with someone giving you highlights a play, but a media member that's covering a game, tweeting out some highlights. [SPEAKER_00]: I think that one is a little harsh. [SPEAKER_00]: The end game manager interview has got to go because an end game manager interview has never once been [SPEAKER_00]: Interesting relevant or revealed anything. [SPEAKER_00]: So I'm with you on that.

[SPEAKER_00]: And as you know, if you follow me on Twitter, if you read my columns, what I really like to see go is the rules analysts who bring nothing to the table 99% of the time. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you could have one.

[SPEAKER_00]: Again, the only time I want to see a rules analyst is when someone doesn't know the play by play guy the analyst the fans we don't know the rule I don't need the analyst to tell me all his knee hit the ground when I can see that for myself that's a waste of time and hinders the broadcast. [SPEAKER_00]: We've got Dalton, Mott, and Mike Peligrini, who posted in questions about fox hiring Drew Breeze, which we'll get into here.

[SPEAKER_00]: Dalton Mott says, how do you think the partnership between Adam and me and Drew Breeze will go? [SPEAKER_00]: Mike Peligrini says, anything more to read into the Drew Breeze deal. [SPEAKER_00]: seems odd he'd be on the third team. [SPEAKER_00]: It's not odd at all that Breeze would be on the odd team, a Martian Andrew Martian is on the puddle of time. [SPEAKER_00]: He broke the story on Wednesday I believe that Fox hired Drew Breeze.

[SPEAKER_00]: Breeze will work with Adam Amine on Fox's number three team. [SPEAKER_00]: He's not going to be on the number one team because that's Tom Brady and he's not going to be on the number two team because that's Greg Olson. [SPEAKER_00]: So it had to be the three team. [SPEAKER_00]: He's also Breeze is coming in here [SPEAKER_00]: Everyone knows that I have a Mark Sanchez getting stabbed, arrested, that whole spiel. [SPEAKER_00]: So Sanchez is not working currently for Fox.

[SPEAKER_00]: He hasn't officially been fired. [SPEAKER_00]: But obviously, he's not working for them. [SPEAKER_00]: Fox needed a guy. [SPEAKER_00]: Breeze's wanted to get back into calling games. [SPEAKER_00]: He did that one game. [SPEAKER_00]: It was a playoff game. [SPEAKER_00]: Pangles Raiders in 2022. [SPEAKER_00]: He was terrible. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't blame him. [SPEAKER_00]: I blame NBC. [SPEAKER_00]: They took a guy who did not call any NFL games and put them on a playoff game.

[SPEAKER_00]: It was not fair to him. [SPEAKER_00]: So I blame NBC for that. [SPEAKER_00]: Breeze was awful on that game. [SPEAKER_00]: It had no, just you could just tell, just was not ready for that. [SPEAKER_00]: So. [SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely 100% deserves a second chance. [SPEAKER_00]: Get a broadcasting career going. [SPEAKER_00]: So we'll see how he does on Fox's number three team with Adam Amine.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then Dan Borello sent in a question saying, is there anything new on the Mark Sanchez situation? [SPEAKER_00]: It just doesn't add up. [SPEAKER_00]: I wrote a column on Thursday for us at a com for my trend of thoughts column and I said I did the same exact thing there's to me maybe I'm wrong and I'm not a conspiracy theory guy But to me it seems like there is a part of this Mark Sanchez story. [SPEAKER_00]: We still don't know.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean right now the story is Sanchez was out of the place [SPEAKER_00]: guy came to pick up cooking oil. [SPEAKER_00]: Sanchez didn't like where the guy parked his truck and then Sanchez ended up getting stand. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, there is a hole in that story. [SPEAKER_00]: Something has to, there has to be some more information that, and I guess there were reports that Sanchez doesn't even remember the incident. [SPEAKER_00]: So, I agree with Dan that it doesn't add up.

[SPEAKER_00]: Fox has been quiet. [SPEAKER_00]: They haven't offered any public comment. [SPEAKER_00]: I think there is a trial date in December, [SPEAKER_00]: We'll see what happens there. [SPEAKER_00]: All right, Michael says, Jimmy, would love to hear your process on how you write your column every day. [SPEAKER_00]: Do you come up with it in the AM and since you're at her, immediately do you let things simmer online until you find the content online that would work for you?

[SPEAKER_00]: It's a great question. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a great read into how I do it, because it is a little of both. [SPEAKER_00]: There are some warnings, [SPEAKER_00]: For instance, this is Thursday morning where I'm taping this. [SPEAKER_00]: When I woke up Thursday morning, I knew my column was going to be about how ESPAN is taking a ratings hit with college football and Monday night football since the YouTube TV carriage dispute.

[SPEAKER_00]: I knew last night when I went to bed that was going to be my topic because the ratings had come out late yesterday afternoon. [SPEAKER_00]: Most mornings I wake up. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't exactly know. [SPEAKER_00]: I might have an idea. [SPEAKER_00]: I'll see something better happens. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, the best thing you for me is when there's news. [SPEAKER_00]: You want news to break in the morning and then react off of that.

[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't happen every morning unfortunately, but that's usually how it goes. [SPEAKER_00]: So some it it's it's I'd say I'm going to say [SPEAKER_00]: I've got a couple of questions here off of Joe Davis, John Smoltz, Fox in the world. [SPEAKER_00]: So you have John, who says, Joe Davis and John Smoltz are brutal, who should replace them, don't see them using local teams in any way.

[SPEAKER_00]: When stadiums are loud, hard to understand everything they're saying, aside from being pouring their voices are weak and I don't consider Davis's streaming a strength. [SPEAKER_00]: And then we had McLean Sarr chime in, what is your opinion of Joe Davis? [SPEAKER_00]: I try not to overly judge announcers who do national games, but also do games for individual teams.

[SPEAKER_00]: But even I think it's a little over the line to do the MC for the victory parade after just calling them on national TV. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that was a big made dog thing that Joe Davis, who just called the World Series on a national stage, then MC, the Dodgers parade. [SPEAKER_00]: And I got so many dumb responses when I post that video from people saying, well, this person hosted a parade, this broadcast was a parade.

[SPEAKER_00]: They weren't doing the world series on a national stage for Fox. [SPEAKER_00]: I personally think everyone knows Joe Buck is a Joe Davis is the Dodgers regular season local play by play guy, everyone knows Joe Davis is rooting for the Dodgers. [SPEAKER_00]: I still think it's a terrible look that Joe Davis calls the world series out for a national audience on Fox. [SPEAKER_00]: And then MC's Dodger parade just it's just a bad look.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now I do think John was a little harsh here who should replace them. [SPEAKER_00]: Joe Davis is not going anywhere. [SPEAKER_00]: Fox loves him. [SPEAKER_00]: He's like 12 years old. [SPEAKER_00]: He's going to be there forever. [SPEAKER_00]: So he's not getting replaced. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what to deal with with small. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know life. [SPEAKER_00]: Fox insists on trying him out every year. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think you bring so much to table.

[SPEAKER_00]: The point about the stadiums are loud, hard to understand. [SPEAKER_00]: I have a high, I didn't understand half of Joe Davis's home run calls during the postseason because he also allowed the verbiage gets lost and then the fox has the crowd volume so jacked up. [SPEAKER_00]: You can't hear him. [SPEAKER_00]: Voices a week. [SPEAKER_00]: Joe Davis does not have a week voice. [SPEAKER_00]: He has the opposite of a week voice. [SPEAKER_00]: So I don't agree with that point.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't consider Davis's streaming is strength. [SPEAKER_00]: I agree. [SPEAKER_00]: The [SPEAKER_00]: it's not natural and it makes it hard to understand what he's saying. [SPEAKER_00]: It's not like it Kevin Harlandeal. [SPEAKER_00]: It's it's a little different. [SPEAKER_00]: So that's sort of my deal with that. [SPEAKER_00]: All right, let's go on to the next question here.

[SPEAKER_00]: Jeremy Kasperson says, what if we simply had a none of the above vote for the 2025 Highestment trophy? [SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely. [SPEAKER_00]: Nobody is that impressive this year. [SPEAKER_00]: The highestment to me is lost all its luster. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't get into it. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what it is [SPEAKER_00]: Stay in college. [SPEAKER_00]: So the NIL people are transferring teams like crazy.

[SPEAKER_00]: I, the high has been lost a lot of luster for me. [SPEAKER_00]: So I don't get all worked up over it. [SPEAKER_00]: All right. [SPEAKER_00]: This is a weird one. [SPEAKER_00]: So I'm going to try to explain it. [SPEAKER_00]: So this comes from Isle's met Jets fam. [SPEAKER_00]: He says, [SPEAKER_00]: At Jimmy Trina, this question is a fair one. [SPEAKER_00]: Why do he don't look good and why don't you follow him? [SPEAKER_00]: I want to get into the thoughts of Jimmy Trina.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then he sends me this video clip. [SPEAKER_00]: So apparently there's a radio station here on ESPN New York. [SPEAKER_00]: It's Don LaGreca, Alan Han, Peter Rosenberg. [SPEAKER_00]: And they spend four minutes talking about me one day this week about I hate Michael K. Why don't I follow Don LaGreca? [SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know. [SPEAKER_00]: So here's what I would just say to this quickly. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't hate Donald Grecket in any way shape before.

[SPEAKER_00]: I have absolutely no reason to hate Donald Grecket. [SPEAKER_00]: I worked at Donald Grecket about a hundred years ago at score phone or sports phone. [SPEAKER_00]: I feel what it was called because it was so long ago. [SPEAKER_00]: Nice guy. [SPEAKER_00]: I didn't know I was required to follow certain people on Twitter. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't follow a ton of people and I usually follow people who I can get content from for my column that was sort of how I've always done it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Don't know, don't personally anymore, it's been so many years since we worked together. [SPEAKER_00]: But I have, [SPEAKER_00]: absolutely no hatred whatsoever for the guy like him. [SPEAKER_00]: I was happy. [SPEAKER_00]: I saw he got the devil's job, which was a lifelong dream. [SPEAKER_00]: So I thought that was great. [SPEAKER_00]: But I know it's a big hockey guy. [SPEAKER_00]: And I don't really follow any hockey people because I don't follow hockey.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think I follow like business, because we go way back 100 years from the hot clicks days. [SPEAKER_00]: And I follow Arthur Staples, because he's a personal friend of mine who like comes to my house and covers hockey. [SPEAKER_00]: But so I don't follow hockey people.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I always think of Don as a hockey guy, but it's not personal, and I didn't, you know, and as for, and then the thing about Michael K, because they kept saying, because Donald Grecker worked with Michael K, so they thought, that's why I was snubbing, I guess. [SPEAKER_00]: But Peter Rosenberg was booked to come on this podcast. [SPEAKER_00]: earlier in the year and unfortunately that day he was supposed to come on on he lost his voice so he couldn't do the pod.

[SPEAKER_00]: I definitely will have him on again down the road. [SPEAKER_00]: It's just I'm not going to have someone on who's not a football person during the football season. [SPEAKER_00]: That's usually how that works for me. [SPEAKER_00]: And I don't hate Michael K personally. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know him. [SPEAKER_00]: I've never met him. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure he's a nice person in real life. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not a fan of how he calls the Yankees. [SPEAKER_00]: That's all.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I know like people think that's like a big thing. [SPEAKER_00]: But you know, people have their opinions, [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not a huge fan of the call of the games. [SPEAKER_00]: That's all, not personal at all. [SPEAKER_00]: All right, sorry to bore you with that answer. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to wrap this up with two, all right, with an utterly absurd and ridiculous question from HaverTech.

[SPEAKER_00]: Do you ever cut your bagel into three slices in order to get in more cream cheese or toppings? [SPEAKER_00]: I can honestly say, as a fat person, I have never once in my life cut a bagel into three slices that is barbaric behavior, and I give you credit for the question because it's so utterly ridiculous, but, [SPEAKER_00]: I can tell you I have never done that.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then the last question in no offense, I appreciate the question, but I kind of hate questions like these. [SPEAKER_00]: This question comes from, I just had it here, hidden shown, can you rank the sign-filled seasons? [SPEAKER_00]: Here's why I hate a question like this, because I have to like really to do a proper ranking of the sign-filled seasons. [SPEAKER_00]: I'd have to go in and do some research.

[SPEAKER_00]: I can't answer that in 30 seconds, but I can tell you a few things to sort of work my way around it. [SPEAKER_00]: I hated the last [SPEAKER_00]: two seasons have signed up. [SPEAKER_00]: So I thought the show got way too broad and stopped focusing on sort of the daily minutia of life, which is what I love the most about the show. [SPEAKER_00]: So seasons eight nine would be eight nine on my rankings.

[SPEAKER_00]: My favorite season I believe [SPEAKER_00]: I want to say is season four. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to do the quick research here. [SPEAKER_00]: Let me just see. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, season four you have the bubble boy, the contest, the junior meant the handy caps spot. [SPEAKER_00]: So, in a party season. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay. [SPEAKER_00]: So I think season five would be one and season four would be two. [SPEAKER_00]: Here's what you have in season five of Sinefeld.

[SPEAKER_00]: The Puffy shirt, [SPEAKER_00]: The lip reader, which is a great episode, the non-fat yogurt, the barber, the dinner party, which is my all-time favorite episode, the marine biologist. [SPEAKER_00]: the Hamptons, the opposite. [SPEAKER_00]: This is not even close. [SPEAKER_00]: Season five is the best sign felt season. [SPEAKER_00]: Number one on the list, season five, number two would be season four, eight nine would be the worst two.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'd have to really sit down and do a study of the rest of the seasons. [SPEAKER_00]: All right, so those, [SPEAKER_00]: Other questions you sent in. [SPEAKER_00]: I appreciate it. [SPEAKER_00]: Appreciate you guys listening. [SPEAKER_00]: Appreciate you guys being patient this week posting a day later. [SPEAKER_00]: I hope you guys enjoyed the mail bag. [SPEAKER_00]: If you want me to keep doing it.
