Alrighty folks, here we are again with the fabulous Jenny to join us on our conclusion of season 2 of Kiwi Need to Go K. Yay! Got all sorts of stuff to talk about, gotta get crazy. Yeah. Dude, I took notes this time because I was like... Yeah, that's how crazy it is. I'm not forgetting this. I'm Joe. Hi. Yeah, you're part of the show too, huh? Yeah, you know, introducing the guests before me and the other hosts, thank you.
Well, you guys are tumbling, they're my introduction, and it's distracting me. It's because you didn't even say what show it is, you're just like, hey, what Jenny's here? Everyone knows already. Ah, right. Joe Joe, in case... Joe Joe. You didn't read the episode title. The podcast. You just clicked next, play next on your phone or whatever. Oh no, I just got done working, okay? I haven't had any, like, still out time yet. I'm high strong or something.
All those hours of Love Island really got to you. No, Love Island's over. Thanks for reminding me. Oh, man. Did they find love on the island? Were they in purgatory the whole time? Some say they did. And some of them have terrible videos leaked of them after the facts about the show. Oh, terrible like how? Like, are they a racist? Like... Cheating. Revenge porn kind of stuff. Oh, okay, yeah. So like actually bad. From people that they've been with before. So that's... That's really bad, yeah.
Yeah. So that's Love Island segment of the episode. It's been a hot second. Well, actually it's only been 12 episodes of the community to doke since the last joint was Jenny, but what have you been up to in the meantime? You recovered from your testy lead. Oh, dude. I've had a busy weekend plus today. I got in a car crash. Oh my god. I already knew about that, so I'm laughing. So I got in a car crash on Friday and then they towed. It was like Friday night, basically. So every room is closed.
I had to wait for everything to open up today for me to actually get things going. So I contacted my agent. Got my insurance assigned me. Got the repair figured out and the rental car picked up and everything else. Yeah, great. A great day of interacting with people and a lot of people who don't do their jobs correctly. Oh, no. It's okay. Everything is worked out now. My agent. You're okay. That's the hardest part. I'm okay. Yeah, I should have made that assumption. Who knows?
I just have a bruise on my knee and my temple. Oh, dear. But you have some. You have some really good news, right? The test. Oh, my God, I passed my test. Yeah. Woo. The curve must have been massive. We said it. So yes. Nice. Well, congratulations. Thank you. You were so nervous. I know. I resigned or something before. I'm just. Defeat. Yes. Have a huge. What's what's going on in your world? I had my second birthday party. This. That's right. Birthday month.
I guess I technically had like three birthday party because I just went for a stream. And it was fun. It was good. I made an ice cream cake and then I made a vegan version of an ice cream cake. And let me tell you, uh, Vegan heavy whipping cream does not whip. That is totally lie. It does not work. It's like when cream the cake is still good with that. Yeah. It just like didn't ever like it's formed stiff peaks ever. No matter how much I did it, it just went around and just didn't do anything.
I was like, okay, cool. But you know, it's fine. It's not me. I know I gave it a good shot. Good shot. So yeah, that was a good time. Um, trying to think if I've been watching any anime, I did watch a movie, a French animated movie called, I think it was called time masters or master of time. Okay. And it is a French movie. Uh huh. From 1982. Yeah. It's time masters. Okay. And it was weird. Um, Where are you finding these things?
Kind of charming, kind of charming, independent animated science fiction fill. By the same director who did, um, uh, Perfect. No. That one planet. What's the thing? Huh. Planet. The one. The weird, the famous movie. Weird planet. I can't, I can't try. Fantastic planet. That's it. Never heard of it. It's kind of the same. It's really weird. These are, this is a, this is a movie that is famous, I guess. It's got weird aliens in it. Some weird stuff happened. It was a like kind of avant-garde.
It was interesting, but was it good? I don't know. I think about it though. These have these little like gnome guys flying around. Uh huh. Hmm. Sci-Fi is good. This is what I'm getting at.
Also, like, I guess because I've been reading some like sci-fi stuff recently, I'm more used to the format where like a bunch of characters go on an adventure and there's like little segments of like little vignettes of like weird, like one-off things that happened to them because everybody else thought that was weird that I was watching it with. And I'm just like, no, this is how they used to write stuff. Hmm. What the adventures they experience on their grander adventure.
Yeah. Cause like the premise of this movie is basically like there is a family that lives on this like recently in this very hostile planet and the parents both get killed by these like bugs. Oh dear. And their kid gets sent off to like go hide in the jungle of this planet. It's like a made out of a bunch of like weird, plastic, plastic looking barbs.
And he has a little egg that is a transponder with a ship that can send messages like instantly over time and space or, you know, space time or whatever. And he is communicating with a friend that of his dad's who is piloting a spacecraft and he is currently faring to like exiled like Prince and Princess.
And so they have to keep this kid company, this little egg, cause he's like, I don't know, like six or something while also trying to make their way over and like save this kid who's just like stranded on this planet. So like every, you know, 15 minutes, they like run into some weird thing happens. Like they crash land on a planet that are made of like angels that have no individual identity and some weird stuff happens. It's like that kind of misadventure kind of thing.
Okay. The space version of supasa chronicles really got a different. What is that? It may. By Clam, of course. I've heard of that. Yeah. It was like probably early 2000s. Well, it's interesting. Cause they just got a Furby. Sauron and Sakura who are the protagonist names of carcatter Sakura. They then use the same characters in this alternate clamp series as the main characters as well. But they're like, it's with them. Oh, it's like a thing. You know, a little critter.
Everyone needs a mascot that you can sell the plushies though. Oh, it's very orb. Um, I know it looks like a, um, what's that Pokemon at the close fairy? No, what's the egg one? The egg toad. Tancy. That's it. That's what it reminds me of kind of. That was my update. How's it been for you, Sarah? Good. Tomorrow's my birthday. Oh my gosh. I'm just going to the dog park with my family. And that's about it. I hate birthdays as an adult. They're real. Like birthdays are awesome as a kid.
So by comparison, adulthood birthdays just suck. Um, so. What? Make an ice cream cake. Like definitely don't want to do that. Wow. I have a 24 hour stream. Okay. That's fine. I've worked. My birthday was on a Tuesday. I just threw three separate parties. It's fine. Okay. Well, no. So that's the thing. Um, I went to anime fest this last weekend and like, Arlington. With my kid sister who made her own little cosplay of original character. So that was cool. I just wanted Dr. Grant.
Jurassic Park. So she wasn't dressed alone. She went in like a group with her and stuff. So that was good. Got a few things. Got cute ass apron with like this cat with a, you know, gardening and watering strawberries. And I don't even need the apron, but it's so cute. I just had to have it. Um, I mean, you do need the apron for when you make your K. Okay. Uh, I have started Hello Fresh again. So at least I'm eating two meals that aren't like total garbage every week. And, and they are so good.
Oh, yeah. I do recommend Hello Fresh. It is tasty, like better than restaurant food. No, we're not. We're not that from the record. Well, maybe they will. That's right. Even, even though we have an end segment of every episode, we recommend people like buy something. Uh, not here. Okay. Okay. Um, or watch something or whatever. Hmm. Oh, I've been watching House of Dragon in the last episode was like, very good. And I'm freaking psyched for the season finale. Oh, Sarah, that reminds me.
I finished the acolyte like two weeks ago and I meant to have a test. Okay. We'll have to talk about this when you do. Okay. Uh, we'll do that at that time. I'll try and watch the rest of this week. We will do it at that time. Yep. Yep. Uh, and then this Friday, I guess more of my, what I'll do for my birthday kind of. Is go, there's a concert here in town for a third eye blind cartel. And, sorry, not cartel. Um, yellow card and Arizona.
At, uh, like circuit, so the America, which I've been to before when I saw the offspring. Uh, so I'm excited. Third eye blinds pretty good. And, uh, it's cheap tickets. So that's all we'll be doing on. Uh, I guess kind of for my birthday in the spirit of my birthday. I go to concerts now sometimes if it's like, yeah, these nostalgia bands. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, so that's kind of what I've been up to.
And, uh, I know we've all been just dying to talk about what we've all watched on Keemee, me to doke hold on. Hold on. Sorry. Jenny. Yes. You've, you are watching a season, season two. Oh yeah. Up to episode nine. What have you're thinking? You've been listening to us talk about it and you can't speak. Yeah. You said something about skento. How have you been feeling about this season up to this point? Um, it was pretty, I feel like I had similar feelings. Similar frustrations.
Just cause like, yeah. The lack of like B plots kind of really, um, hurt season two just cause there wasn't really much going on with plot. Um, but it makes sense to me that it would happen. Like this, I guess. If that makes sense. It's just, it didn't have to be this long, I would say. I mean, this is even shorter than the first season. Yeah. But like this would have been a six episode arc in the first season or like an eight episode arc.
Yes. And yeah, I mean, like, I feel like that's pretty in line. Like, I mean, that's what I was saying is that like, I like all the plot beats. I just don't like how long they all take or like how they're distributed in the episode. Yes. Um, also your guys is read on Kento. Okay. What you said you fell in between our two opposing. Perspective. Okay. Um, Centra mindset.
I agree that he has good intentions of like actually wanting to help Salgo, but he also is a little stinker by like just doing it out of his own self interest of like, I think this will be entertaining or like funny. And also he does like her to some extent. Right.
Yes. Yeah. Like he had that pivotal scene where he's like, or you could go out with me and I don't know if you understand Joe in a show, Joe, when they have that like, oh, he's actually serious kind of moment where he isn't joking and he like actually delivers it straight. That means he's serious, which means he actually is interested in her. But not to an extent where he wouldn't like still, um, I guess cheer on her and cause a, okay, well, this is like a bit more, this is like a trope then.
Yeah. But I'm just not familiar with it. It was just like a signal. It's a thing, right? I mean, we covered it where it's where he even said the whole to Karumi like, oh, I'll just date her so that you can get with him. That's the thing that's happened in many of show shows before. Um, and yeah, if there's like some character that's never serious, but then they have the like serious moment, but then normally it's like psych, they have like a just kidding, but then you like, but are they kidding?
Or are they just playing off? Um, yeah, I mean, I guess that's, I mean, if we get more clarification, the last thing that's like, I guess maybe we should just wait. I don't know. Anyway, these three episodes, like finally, oh, oh, we can make a good television show. Oh, can you believe it? We remembered how to make a fun show in the last three episodes. Yeah. They just, I don't know what they were doing. They just waited until the end to be like, Hey, remember when we had fun here?
And the answer is okay. I guess we have fun here. Yeah. Yeah. So these episodes are good. Um, and I'm going to go into it. Here we go. Okay. Episode 10 is called from here on. Uh, the girls are still sewing, but it's gotten super late. Saloko gets the text message from cause hi from last episode. That's like, we need to talk later or whatever. Um, she starts thinking about the confession from last episode. And blushes.
There's a gag where the girls learned that one of them has a crush on Andy, who's one of cause hi is friends. Do we finally learn his name? I know. I'm a generic gas one. I didn't think he was the cuter one of the bunch of little followers. The girls very seriously asked Saloko what her opinion is. And she says that they would make a great couple because she's like mystical or whatever. And she's like, I don't know what she's thinking about. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know.
Because she's like mystical or whatever. Just giving the advice. It's the day of the festival. These teens have made some crazy ass floats. Like for real, they've like really, there's one that's a pirate ship with like a sail and everything. And there's only one that's just a whole ass fix. They have all the time. Yeah. They had like months. Yes. They did have a lot of time. Um, Saloko's class is doing like a Japanese folklore theme. Like Ioni, Chizu and Saloko are all in costumes.
Ioni and Chizu are wearing like old time Japanese clothes, except I guess Chizu is like a martial artist. She's like, we're not like a martial artist gear or something. And Ioni just kind of looks normal, but she's wearing like a, I can't tell what I don't know what the actual difference in like a Yukata and isn't anything else, but like it's something like that. Yeah. Anyway, Saloko is dressed like a Japanese spirit, but like, I don't think this is what Sotoko wears is the thing.
Um, because she's like a sop and wet, like got the like big T-shirt on this wet. It's supposed to be Japanese like folklore and not the ring movie. I don't know. Maybe they can't just directly copy existing IP. That's fair. That's fair. Yeah. But she, I mean, she's looking kind of good. Everyone's impressed by how ghostly she was. Yeah. Uh, in class, Kazehaya asks Ioni where Saloko is and she tells him that she's in the hallway.
Then she adds that Saloko sewed his costume and he's just wearing like a, it's like a fitted cap and then loose pants. Um, you guys little, um, sword katana and this out of his hip. I think you look good. Yeah. He's like a swordsman guy. Uh, Penn comes in and tells them that it's all time for the festival to start. Kazehaya finds Saloko outside and is taken aback by how pretty she is as a ghost. Joe shows up and Kazehaya tells him to buzz off. Ryu, who's dressed like an ox, drags Joe off.
He's an ox. He's cute. He is cute. He's pretty good. Uh, Kazehaya says he wants to say something to her and Saloko asks if she can go first. She says that she's really happy when they went to the shrine together and she liked having his undivided attention, but was also a little scared of disappointing him. She says that if she confessed her feelings, then their friendship would come to an end. Um, but she wants to do that anyway. So can they start the relationship over now?
The announcer says the festival will start. Saloko tells him to watch her because as a testament to her growth in the last year, she'll be the best ghost girl ever. Oh, that's right. How's that? All right. She's freaking. It's very funny to me that it's like, oh, all of my social growth of like people thinking I was like a cursed person is going to be channeled into my performance as a cursed person. Yeah. As a ghost. Oh, circle. I looked at Saloko is a girl who died in a well. So, okay.
Like a. Oh, referencing like an older thing. I don't know. I we still need to do our ring. Okay. Okay. Okay. Uh, okay. Uh, cause I have smiles as she walks off. Uh, he calls out to her through the crowd saying that he likes her and everybody hears this in his either shocked or pleased. Oh my gosh. I healed up this point. Right. I was like, I was like in front of everyone. I was like, I was like in front of everyone. He finally does it. He does the thing.
I mean, this is a good, this is, this is the thing that I wanted, right? Where it's like, oh, she's saying her feelings without hiding behind a door and he is saying his feelings directly instead of being like nonverbal about it. Yeah. I think they're just overflowing with excitement because they kind of know it's about to go down. So they both just. They're like, this is what I knew these episodes might be good. Uh, the parade starts, I guess they just like all walk through town.
Like they prayed through town. Like how long is this parade man? I don't know. So it's got easy just sitting in the well. Yeah. Or anything. Yeah. There must be a big parade. Dude, I was sad they like changed to montage for this part because I was like, what happens after he just says, I like you. And then she's just like, okay, she gets in the well. Yeah. I would be, yeah, I would have a hard time doing that performance after that just happened to me.
Yeah. Also, I have a question of what Kento's supposed to be. He looks weird. Um, yeah. I know, I know. He's a Tengu. That little. Oh, okay. Okay. Yep. They're like trickster guys, right? They're like the big bird things. Um, yeah. Mount Peter. Yeah. The parade star. Yeah. We get a montage of a bunch of floats interspersed with scenes between Kazehaya and Salako from seasons one and also some from two, but mostly from one.
Yeah. I have a couple, I have a couple of notes about some of these floats. Number one, dragon quest float. What if it's one of the classes just dragon quest themed. There's a part when they walk past Kazehaya's house and his like little brother is holding Mar and Mar looks enormous. Yeah. What happened? He's just like a pumpkin head dog now. He's dense. I have to martinez the little half for fee. Happy doggo now. Yeah. Big real big off screen. Someone's getting character development. Let's see.
Salako gets to be scary rising out of the well. That was cute. She finally is scary on purpose. I guess she's done that a couple of times. And lastly, my last note is that there's a cowboy float. There's a cowboy float. It's just a horse. The guys are riding a horse. She's going in the air. Yeah. Yeah. Let's see. Apparently at the end of the parade, everybody does like a performance for the judges. I think that's the thing that pin was talking about last episode.
So Salako gets to be creepy as she appears out of a well and crawls towards the judges in a fantastic scene. This scene was so good. Dude. She gives all of the judges drinks like pin told her to and the judges immediately recognize this as a bribe. That's not even a good bribe. Not even a good bribe. It's a bad bribe. They hate those drinks. Yeah. It's the ending ceremony and the and they announced the awards. Salako's class wins best vending booth for the Sotoko Cafe.
Her classmates are all pumped and they like lift her up and like a crowd surf. But then their classes disqualified for bribery in the parade. So overall they got sixth place and lose them ahead of all of the other sophomore classes, which means there must have been a bunch of classes in this. What is it? It's normally like there's at least through F classes. I feel like I haven't seen any last number in further F. So like 20 classes or something. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, pin freaks out from losing.
They all chill for the final bonfire because you were right. There's got to be a bonfire at the end. Yeah. It's dead dancing. Dang. Watch it. I've been there. It wasn't even that dark out when they were doing it. It was just like seven o'clock or something. Kazehaya approaches Sawako and they go off to talk and by go off. I mean, they walk like three feet to the left. In front of everyone still. In front of everybody. Yeah. Kazehaya asks if they both have the same meaning of like this time.
Sawako starts crying and Kazehaya grabs her hand saying they feel the same about each other. Then he says this is just like a dream. We get a montage of all of Sawako's friends looking on approvingly because they're all just watching this because it's right there. And then we get a very close zoom in on their faces as Kazehaya starts to lean into Sawako until their foreheads touch and they smile at each other cut to credits. I got faked out twice when they did that. I was like, there's no way.
I don't remember a kiss. Is there a kiss? Of course not. They don't have to touch their foreheads. And I think people never do in real life. Except for that one vine. Where the people are just like sitting out of Starbucks or something touching foreheads and being all lovey-dovey. The person's just recording them being like, is this allowed? Yeah. No, I guess it's not a very organic thing to happen in reality. But this is show-show. It is for that camera shot.
The slightest physical contact scene. It is for the you think they're going to kiss just kidding. They're doing this. The guy with the cheeky feeling has a fever. Yeah. Uh-huh. What a fake out. Good episode. There it is. They did the confession. Yay. Oh, I like that. It's all about to be scary. There is a part when before Kazi Haya says he likes her, that Joe's trying to talk to him and he's like, was off basically. Oh my God. And then, uh, yeah, I was like, dude, you tell him finally go away.
Like, clue. Yes. Kazi Haya says it's episode 10 and the farce is over go away plot device. Yeah. Yeah. Everyone start bold and direct in this episode. That's right. Finally, finally God. Finally happens. Yeah. And look after it happens, everything is good again. These next two episodes are also good because we're not dealing with that anymore. Happy J. Yay. Yay. Any more thoughts about episode 10? We should be rolling to episode 11. 11. 11. Episode 11 when the curtain falls.
We open on Salico's parents talking. Salico's mom says that she's at the festival after party. We get a gag where her mom, who seems to know that Salico is about to be dating somebody, floats the idea to her dad and he gets all sad. I like the part where she, um, gives him a napkin for tea because he spit out his tea, but then she holds up a second. She's going to cry. That's great. Yeah. She's prepared. She's got so many of those at the ready with him.
Yes. Uh, we cut to cheese and I on a walking together. They imagine Salico and cause a hi and walking to the after party together as they walk there themselves. I have a note here that says cheese is wearing a big like she's wearing a sweater and it gives me big uncle Joe from full house. Yeah. I can see it. Joey. Yeah. It's like, it's like, it's got a lot of, it's like, I got a pattern on it, you know, good, good sweater. In reality, Salico and cause a hi are just walking there normally.
Um, Salico keeps looking over at cause a hi, but gets embarrassed when he looks back. They both get embarrassed as they keep walking. Yeah. They do a shot where it's like, I think implying that she's looking at his hands nervously, but it's just straight across shot. Right. Like, Oh my goodness. Yeah. Yeah. And his shirt is pain. I hate this shirt. It's just that thing. It's not that. I'm trees or something. It's gross.
Okay. But there's a part where Kent later on is wearing a shirt that's even worse somehow. I'll get to it. I have a shot on it later. Oh, good. Bad episode for shirts. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Bad episode for shirts. Cheesy winter sweater is carrying the fashion. At the after party. Joe and I think this is Andy or it's just another guy.
Are recreating the scene where cause hi yells out to solico that he likes her in the last episode for all of the on looking students who I guess weren't there or couldn't see it very well. Mordifying. We pan to cause a high and solico who just walked in and they are horrified. And then they came out and they were like, Oh, good. It's a little bit embarrassing. Cause I asked Joe if you could punch him. You have my girls. A million questions. Mostly about if they're dating or not.
Cause I high answers all of them by throwing up a peace sign, which I guess means yes. Didn't really get this. Yeah. It's amazing. Yep. That's true. Joe bumped solico out of the way. Oh, hate him. He's like shuffling to the floor. Quality. Now redeem yourself. Now redeem yourself. Everyone is shocked. Kazehaya tells him that he's crazy for her. Everyone but Ion E and Chizu are shocked, which includes Sawako, who is also shocked. Everybody is impressed that Sawako bagged Kazehaya.
They start the after party, which is karaoke. Everybody parties. We got a bunch of art of them partying. It's pretty good. They must only have that. Outside. What? They've only ever done things at karaoke. That's the only thing their town has. There's some Hokkaidos out in the middle of nowhere. There's nothing else to do. You know? Well, there is something else to do, which PID is doing. Because outside PID is getting drunk on the beach. Roll model.
PID-a-full. He runs into Kent and his entourage of girls with him. Hint's like, how'd you get so many girlfriends? And Kent makes fun of you for drinking alone. Yeah. Okay. This is when I have the note about Kent's shirt, which is terrible. It's like a button down shirt, but it has like the little thing for epaulets on the shoulders. Hell's bad. And also there's a big patch over where the caller should button. That's like a patch over that's also buttoned. It's weird.
I did not know this was close. I'm visiting this. It looks insane. I'll take care of it first. If I had time, I'll find a screencap of it. You are the fashion expert. Extremely weird. Yeah. Him and Kent and Penn turn and they see Salako, Kazehaya, Chizu, Ryo, and Ayane walking along the beach. Oh God, Ayane has a fifth wheel now. I know. Kent walks up to... Do you want to... Do you want Penn to step in here? Oh yeah, Joe. No, no. She's the only one available. Kent's there. True. Kent has her.
And all of his girlfriends. Kent walks up to Salako and says he's happy for the two of them. Then he drags Kazehaya off as Penn, Beck and Salako over. Kent tells Kazehaya not to make Sadako cry. Kazehaya is confused. So Kent's like, what? Did you never ask her why she was crying the other day? It was because she thought you liked someone else. And Kazehaya's like, why would she think that? And Kent's like, oh dude, because I told her that. He's just exposing himself. Climbing exchange, yeah.
Kazehaya gets mad and then he corrects Kent. And he's like, hey, her name is Salako, not Sadako. And Kent's like, oh yeah? You want me to call her Salako? Is that what you really want? Which Kent says Kazehaya off guard. Then he says he's going to stick to Sadako because he says it in like a friendly way. And then he walks off. Term of endearment. Elsewhere, Penn is asking Salako about her and Kazehaya. Kazehaya walks up and Penn is like, hey, are y'all dating?
And Kazehaya was like, oh yeah, basically. And Penn's like, no, for real. Did you like say that to her explicitly? Because like we all know her. She's not going to piece together shit. Yeah, he like reads her completely. And there's a cop. Kazehaya gets the picture and he goes up to Salako and starts to ask her if she will be his girlfriend. But before he can get the words out, Penn does an impression of Kazehaya asking if she will marry him.
Kazehaya gets mad at him and Salako says that she'll have to think about it. And then Kazehaya says, oh no, listen. And then he like grabs her hand, but she freaks out and tells him that she needs time to think and runs off. And then Penn's like, well, better. Big Ultral. Yeah, he knows her well enough to be like, you got to say this. And then also this is going to be so funny. Penn's like, well, be better go chase her. And Kazehaya is about to fight him.
But then Penn's like, I don't know, dude, maybe she'll say yes. Salako gets a phone call from her dad. She floats the idea of her getting married to her dad, but then drops it and hangs up. She looks at the sky where I guess they have no light pollution because she could just see the whole edge of the galaxy. It's so cool. Such a good view. What the fuck? That's not real. There's no way she could see that. Perks of being on the boonies. She's got the woo woo powers to be the woo woo powers.
Kazehaya walks up and says there's been a misunderstanding about the marriage thing. And Salako is like, oh, Kazehaya, did you not mean to ask me to get married? And he's like, no. And she's like, it's OK. Because I know it was a joke. Kazehaya is shocked. And we get a graphic that says what Salako meant by let me think about it is let me fantasize about it. So, you know, she recognizes jokes. It doesn't really play along correctly. But you know, she got the spirit.
Yeah. She's a little confused, but she gets it. Kazehaya explicitly asks Salako to be his girlfriend. Salako agrees. Happy face is all around. Sparkles everywhere. Except for one. Very sad. Your girl, you Joe. Yeah. We're about to get more of it. Salako decides that this is the perfect moment to say that she has impure hopes when she sees him. I'm causing her falls to his knees and embarrassment. I mean, that's two girls. Just not saying kind. He doesn't fall. He falls to his knees in like.
Very. Very. Yes. It's I legit screamed at this. It was like. She's like, don't hate me, but I have impure hopes about you. And he's like, why would I hate you for that? I'm like, I'm just going to be the dynamic. This is good. This is the stuff we needed earlier this season. Yeah. It can be funny. Cause I can't believe it. I on a cheese. Ryu and Kent. All watch this from like a little way on a railing. Like they have like balcony view to this. I on a is like, dang, I'm jealous.
Cheese is like, yeah, it all worked out. Even though I told cause a high, he was super similar to Salako. Ha, ha, ha. I guess I didn't matter. And I on a is like, wait, when was that? And she's who runs away while using Ryu as a shield. Ken's like, Oh, no worries. It all worked out. And I on a is like, you go away. I on a sees Karumi who turns and walks away. Yep. It's the next morning. So I was taped a bunch of notes to herself reassuring that last night was not a dream, but was real.
There's so many notes. There's so many notes. At school, all the students now want Salako's love advice because she somehow got cause a high. So I guess she's a pro. Also, she might be magic. Who knows in the classroom cause a high has to reassure everybody that he wasn't possessed by her or like under her thrall or whatever. He just likes her like normal. I on a makes cause a high publicly declare that cause that Salako is his girlfriend.
Yeah, cause a high then says that everybody should leave them alone now, but they don't do that because it's hot gossip. Yeah. Yeah. The ultimate gossip. Ken and Siri watch this and Ken is like, dang, they're so compatible. How did I not notice that? And siru's like, eh, it seemed kind of obvious to me, man. Then Kent sees Karumi walk off and is like, Oh yeah, I bet she's disappointed. And then we get a scene from one of the bullies from season one here in the news as we cut to credits.
Well, their boyfriend and girlfriend now official. Yeah. Freakin finally. My God. How much progress we can make. In one episode. God, not see now like it's funny. We're making progress. We get scenes with everybody. I don't hate pin. It's crazy. Crazy. We know what we can do when the show's good, huh? Happy. Yeah. Everything's working out. Episode 12 is called someone precious. We open on school cause a higher carries some bags, some trash bags for so because she's his girlfriend now.
She says it's okay. But you know, but he could, but he can only take some of them so they can go together like they both have one to take. That's fun. He is smooth operator now. Yeah. Yeah. He was all like. I'm sorry. No, God. Well, those are going to be awkward to cut anyways. It was just all like pretty smooth of like this is a duty as a boyfriend, which I also am honored to have some of it. Yeah, I like it's the perks of a boyfriend.
And then she's like, well, I want to or I'm being held by you so much. And he's like, that's another part being there to help you kind of. So I can't wait till season three. Right. He's been a boyfriend before. Yeah. Like he's read the manual. I can't wait for season three. Ryan is like, God, you're so corny. It better happen. Yeah. Because she definitely will think that it's cute.
And he tells her that he publicly confessed to her because he wanted everyone to know, at least that's what he's decided on after the fact. He's like, OK, well, I wasn't actually thinking of that when I did it, but now that it's over, this is what I'm thinking. Freaking believe them, man. Like he can't let this go around by a rumor. People, he needs firsthand account witnesses. Yeah, that's pretty funny. Yeah. Penn shows up and is annoyed that they're being lovey-dovey, so he draws Kazehaya off.
Some girls nearby start to gossip about Sawako and how maybe Kazehaya is dating her because like, I don't know, he's bored or something. They really have good reasons. Dude, yeah, it was like, what logic are you thinking about this? Were they like, oh, he just wanted a girlfriend. He would date anyone. I was like, OK. No, he's got plenty of someone for so long. Yeah. The guy who rejects a thousand girls on Valentine's Day. Yeah. Something that she's the most popular girl now. Exactly.
She's the it girl. Oh, my God. Let's see. Cheezoo and Ion, I talk about how there's some gossip about Sawako, but I guess that's expected because a lot of girls had a crush on Kazehaya, who are probably disappointed now. Sawako overhears this because she's standing just right behind them and agrees that. Yeah, that makes sense that that would happen. Then she thinks a lot about Karumi and decides to go see her.
Cheezoo tells her to remember that none of this is her fault and she might not be able to do anything about how bad Karumi feels. Yes, Cheezoo. Ah, she's just giving good words. Yeah, some advice in the hall. Bullies from season one get mad that they don't, that they didn't try to stop Sawako harder. Karumi, who's nearby, laughs at them and tells them that that attitude is why Kazehaya never noticed them. The main bully says that she was the one who told them all those rumors in the first place.
So it's like she's one to talk and Karumi retorts that they were the perfect scapegoats and also they're dumb enough to fall for this. So that's that's why I told you those rumors. But also, yeah, I guess I am just like you all. We're all the same except for Sawako, which is why he's dating her. And then she turns to see Sawako standing right there. The bullies start to interrogate Sawako and Karumi tells them all to shut up. Then she tells them that Kazehaya already made his choice.
So all their grumbling is like wasted and makes them look all fake. Anyway, clearly Kazehaya hates gaming like this. So if you do something to Sawako, he'll totally hate you. And then she like leaves. She's like, I'm out. I wrote, save your Karumi here. Got a savior. Yes. Like even when they're rivals, she's still such a good person to be like, hey, it's not Sawako's fault that she's looking at her. I was like, hi, yeah, looking for her boy extension.
Karumi is out here being like, listen, I'm a tier because I'm the rival. You guys don't even have names. All right. That's true. F tier. So I go follows after Karumi. The bully stay behind and I on a cheesy walk up and give them a lecture about having a crush and being normal about it. Oh my gosh. I wrote a note here. Cheesy was a god this episode. She's so cool. They're so good. Hmm. Yeah. A little, a little out of character. I feel like it's because she has experience with it. Well, I mean.
Now with this. Well, being like. Having like an unrequited one sided. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. The whole what's his face? Bro. Toru. I mean, basically the lecture is like you could feel ambivalent about your crush finding happiness with somebody else and also cry. Yeah, I feel like I never cried over crushes like that. Like, yeah, I relate more to them being mad at the chick that the person picks, but not the crying about it part. The jealousy part. Yeah. Yeah.
Right. Because they never even talked to him. I like there's really, I don't know, building up this narrative in their heads that there's some chance for them. This this whole section feels like this is the this is the show for teens for tweens. And like, here's the second lesson of this arc that we don't have a better way of expressing. So we're doing it this way. We're on a cheese who just give these random people. They've never really met a lecture and they just they just they agree.
I guess it's fine. Yeah. Yeah. Elsewhere where you tells Kazehaya, good job. Kazehaya is like, thanks, man. And then Penn is like, what about me? I'm the I'm the season. You be why are you thinking me? Which like might be true. Well, he does. Right. Yeah, it's kind of the season MVP. Yeah, step aside. Yeah, it's one of those. And Kazehaya does thank him, but then he's like also like leave Salco alone from now on. I'm trying to be protective. Penn says, yeah, sure.
But you're in a real relationship now. So if like a better guy comes along, you might have to like put up a fight to keep her. So like good luck, man. Not our relationship should work. Your relationship. That's that he's just no one else was to come around. Yeah. He's just teasing him. It's pretty good. Yeah. We cut to Kareem on the rooftop. So I was followed her. She tells Kareem that she confessed to Kazehaya and that they're a couple now.
Kareem seems bummed, but is like, what did you come here to brag? I'm not going to congratulate you. And so I go says, no, she just wanted to tell her herself. And then she turns to leave. Kareem calls after her calling her Salco, John. Like they're like friends now. She she says that. Does she always? Yeah, did when she is faking it. Yeah, when she was faking it. But she's still I thought she still said it. I think she's just not addressed her really since.
I think the other people she's called her Salco. OK, because I noticed when she was talking to the bullies, she referred to her as Salco, John. Yeah. Oh, OK. Maybe this isn't special. I think she's not to her face until now. Oh, true. She says that she was only able to confess her feelings to Kazehaya because of her. And if it weren't for her, she wouldn't have been able to because she would have been afraid of being rejected. And she walks past her saying that she's glad that they were rivals.
Oh, friendship. Good scene. Yeah. So good. We love Kareem. Kareem, great. Awesome. Yes. Cool girl. Kent accidentally eaves on this while he was just hanging out on the roof. Yeah. Like this little two spots. He clearly was already there and they just came up and did this scene in front of them. Yeah, but since when did he ever hang out by himself? He's like by himself. Randomly. After school, he tells Karumi that he was these dropping on her while he was hanging out alone on the roof.
He says he was surprised by how their exchange went. And Karumi agrees, saying that Sawako seemed ready to be yelled at. But she didn't say like sorry or like thank me or anything, which was good, because I would have been annoyed by that. Kent asks if things would have been better if he dated Sawako. And Karumi says, no, that probably wasn't going to happen anyway. And like if Kazehaya had liked me, he would have done something a long time ago.
So there was kind of just this is the only real outcome that could have happened. After that, Ayane comes out of nowhere, puts her hand on Karumi's shoulders. She says that Karumi can't have Kazehaya. But if she were a guy, she'd quote, except all your dirty little secrets. Unquote. Oh my God. This is where I scream. Bro, what? I knew I knew you were going to be all jazzed up about this. This should have been the B plot. This is the A plot of season three. We'll see. What? It was a copy.
So, oh my God. This recontextualizes so much of the confrontation they had in season one. I don't want you to get your whole sub job. Oh, no, it's OK. I understand subtext. I am able to. Oh, no. I am able to pieces together. Holy shit, dude. What else can this mean? What else can this mean, Sarah? I mean, we can hold, but I just don't want to get our hopes up. She walks up. She walks up to her and is like, listen, if I were a guy, I'd take you right now. How is that?
What do you do? OK, OK, OK, that's like 2000 at David or something. OK, people were gay in 2007. It's openly in. Shojo manga. How about maybe like it comes across completely how we're reading it, where she's just like, yeah, I date you if I was a guy. But maybe in this car, because I don't feel like I can't do it is brave enough to have this kind of plot. So I feel like she said it maybe in a way that could be interpreted as like guys usually don't care about girls who.
Are like conniving in that way and like cause a high is different in that way that he does care. And so she was like, if I was just some other like random guy, I would be like I would accept it easily. Yeah, well, I think she's just comforting her like, you know, what you've done isn't like unforgivable and, you know, it's kind of who you are. So whoever. You like end up liking likes you for who you are. And that. Yeah, that's part of her. Yeah.
But she doesn't say if I was if I was some guy, she says. I know. There's some tax. She says if I were. Listen, it has been out sailing moves, but do a gay shift for a while at this point. Oh, this is not this is not unprecedented. Yeah. Yeah. Well, maybe I mean, I on it. Well, because it's in the Japanese version. Let me tell you what. I mean, come on. She comes out of nowhere. She comes out of screen. She puts her hand on her shoulder. What are we doing? Well, we'll find out.
OK, you can find for this. Oh, I don't want you to be disappointed. Like we were raising. Really? Like the two best characters. Oh, that's true. That would be the power couple. Karumi tells her to mind her own business, starts crying and then leaves. Just work through those feelings. You know, it's been a long day. I know. She soon comes on to you at the end of it. Yeah. Another. But she's she's going to be around. She ain't dating anybody else. Disgusting.
You won't have a title card with pain in the next season, I bet. Oh, my God, if those two are in a title card together, I'm going to lose. No, I have a note here about what Karumi was talking about, of how she now feels free. That's an interesting viewpoint of like she's chased after Kasehaya for so long. And like she says it out loud where like if he liked me or if there was any chance he would like me, we would already be dating.
And so she don't want to accept that just because he was still single. But now that he's dating someone, she could finally let go. Partially that I think also like she might have felt, I don't know if it was responsibility, but like she wanted to see him happy. And she knew Sawako was the way to make that happen. So I feel like she was going to be satisfied until, you know, at least he ended up with his happy ending. Yeah, I don't know.
She meddled, so she felt responsible, I guess, maybe for meddling and wanted to see it through something like that, maybe. I mean, she's free. If only there was a hottie in my area that would accept all my dirty old secrets. Now I can consider that. Oh, man. We'll see. Getting care together. Oh, my God. We can share. Doner, they can share. Tony. Oh, my God. OK. Listen, all I'm saying is that season three is being made in twenty twenty
four. True. That's true. And it could happen based off of the manga, right? You know, you have to say if they fall. Have you made stuff better? Do we talk about this? Uh, I don't think so. Yeah, I'm like a part of the volumes. Yeah, I don't know. Oh, we'll find out. Incredible. We're all very excited. Anyway, Karimi's walked off. Ken's still there, though. He's like, man, this is all unpredictable. I guess causing it causing it was in the soloco.
Karimi is actually a softy and so it goes cuter than ever. Man, good call in my part for falling in love with her. And I was like, seriously? And he's like, yeah, totally. Yeah, and then they start walking off and he's like, hey, Ioni, you're a lot kinder than you look to. And they go off. Yeah. Well, he said he's relieved that he didn't really full blown fall for her. That's true. Yeah. So yeah, anything that he was kind of into her. But yeah, that's how to develop.
That's kind of what I thought is like he's kind of like half hardly into it, you know what I mean? It's like, you know, this would be like a fun outcome, but like I'm not bad invested in it. Yeah. I don't know. Normally, like, right, he's kind of supposed to be second. Well, it's not exactly more like rival. Some shows have like second male lead where it's kind of like, will they want they with both male protagonist and kind of like you pick
a team that you're on. But so clear in this, that's cause they hire and not. Yeah. I mean, I guess I have thoughts about I will. We'll talk about all the characters at the end of this. Outside, Sawako and Shizu are at the flower garden. Sawako has a lot of feelings about Karumi, but she'll probably never get to tell her or get to say them to her, except, you know, maybe if she comes over with her like new GF, I don't know. Maybe that'll happen. Ryu and cause a high approach.
Shizu gets up and runs to Ryu and drags him away by the arm to leave the couple alone. They're walking and Ryu is like, oh, this is like what you're doing because she keeps glancing back at them. And he's like, oh, hey, Shizu, I like you. Shizu gets flustered. That's really cute. Fucking. But then she tells him that she knew she knows already while she like bumps him. She like runs up into him. I'm sad buying. I know. For them at the end of the season. I don't know how to deal about this.
I kind of like it, actually. Like, I think it's I think they know they're going to cancel at this point. Oh, of what? The show that they're not going to renew. OK. So this actually feels. That's a cute thing. It was very tragic. Never banged. Like that. Yeah, I mean, I like this kind of thing because like the way she's been acting all this season is kind of like she did already now. You know what I mean? Like, I feel like this is.
And also, I feel like Ryu is not going to ask Shizu out in the very high drop away that Kazehide does because he is like a much more casual guy. Yeah, this feels like the way people actually get asked out in real life. You know what I mean? Well, I guess there's to be more of a like they don't even remember when they started dating because they've always been together and just at some point in terms of romantic. Like there's no big moment where it kicks off.
Yeah. So like, again, I didn't have a high point, but I felt like the season was over and this feels like correct for them. I mean, she kind of does the Han Solo. I love you. I know a thing. But like in the correct interpretation of that, you know what I mean? Where it's like, you don't have to say this out loud to me. I already understand this is what's happening. And I feel like that's good.
I thought I took it as like she didn't even understand that he had romantic feelings and that she took it as like I like you as like a family member, because that's how she thinks of you still. Oh, you think that's what she like blushes and was like taking it back. I mean, I know. Yeah, you'd you'd blush if anyone said I like you to your face. Yeah, I'm kind of unsure on. I don't I don't know if she takes him seriously or if I I kind of I don't find it very satisfying personally.
This whole thing happening between them. But hopefully that gets addressed in the next season as well. You think they'll walk it back? I don't know. Maybe. I guess we'll see. I thought it was fine. I thought this was like true to character. I mean, she's also dumb as a bag of bricks. So maybe we're going to have like the same thing where she catch. What you say she's well, well, like she's going to be like, hey, girls, you know, it's funny where you told me he liked me.
Isn't that funny? Blah, blah, blah. And then they're both going to be like, well, yeah, dog. She's like, wait, what? Or something. I she's so clueless with romance. I wouldn't rule it out that somehow that's going to happen. But she's been dishing out advice, not in stop in these last two episodes. Well, that's not like not. It's not necessarily but like taking the. Right. And the protection.
Yeah, basically. Yeah. Well, that kind of is similar to how she was in the very beginning of the first season where she was all like kind of doing her samurai on her kind of style where it's like, no, I don't think me. I'm just doing what I should, you know, kind of justice. She has like a strong sense of justice. Uh huh. Oh, yeah. I don't know. Well, that happens. That Rio actually has to like sit there down and be like, look, I actually like you. I think they need that seat.
Oh, you can do that. You think they do the exact same thing that happened at the end of this season with you and Chisoo again in season three? That would be torture. I think it's going to have to be like her. Maybe someone else starts liking Rio and she then realizes that she doesn't want him to be. I feel like that's going to have to happen. That would be terrible. No, he's like they're like walking home together. And then he's just like, hey, I like you.
And then she's like, yeah, OK, whatever. And then he's like, no, seriously. And then he just like drills it into her head. I feel like that's the scene that fits for them for me. Who do we think kisses first in season three? Cause I am so. Yeah, that seems more certain now. I don't think so. Well, I think I'm a friggin. Oh, my God, they would. They would day one, they would. They wouldn't be leading in a pretentious foreheads. They absolutely would go for it. I don't know.
I feel like it's going to be I. Yane, it's more in touch with the romantic side of herself, because she's dated so much already that she'll like lead Karumi like she'll guide her into her first. Oh, no, I don't know. We'll find out. We got to move on. I feel like you're going to be disappointed. All right, all right, fine. Sawako and Kazehaya walk home. They reached the point where they separated. She's about to tell him something maybe about Karumi, but then she decides against it.
She decides that she will treat him right and treasure him. I thought she paused because she was going to say that. And then she thought maybe not. I don't know. I don't know what she was going to say. We got we got like a flash of Karumi, which is why I'm like, maybe she's just going to say something about that. I don't know. I mean, she might. I don't. Yeah, I don't know. I think it would be about Karumi, but.
Well, maybe she was thinking of like, I mean, all these girls' hearts that I've broken for from dating Kazehaya, I will, I mean, not disrespect their feelings by loving Kazehaya a lot. Yeah, like make it worth it. That makes sense. Anyway, she doesn't say that. The credits start to play. The credits start to play. Kazehaya fifth, or fifth. Over a scene, over a scene of Kazehaya having a great time riding his bike.
I understand this is because he's so happy he's dating Sawako, but it really does just seem like he's having a great time riding his bike. It's just so fun. I know I was happy that he's so happy because he's been freaking through it. Wait in the waiting. The most joyous bike ride ever. Shut up. Don't ruin this moment for him. Yeah, he's happy, Joe. Don't fool you. It's so funny. Because like nothing particularly exciting happened at the end of that walk. He's just having a great time.
Yeah, life's great. Bye, Fili. Finally. We get a scene of the two of them going out of date. They go to the planetarium, which seems unnecessary because they could just look up at the sky at any point in time. It seems much better. But it's during the day. They can't do that. They can't lay down in a recliner like that. That's true. That is such a typical like go planetarium. Oh, wow, these are kinders go back. This is way more private than I thought it was going to be.
Yeah, it's like a couple's chair. Yeah, if you're usually not alone in a planetarium. Well, first dates are either that or the freaking aquarium. Those are the two options you have. The aquarium is so good. True. In the Japanese dating life, it's only aquarium or planetarium. Yeah, yeah. Those are both pretty good. They are good. Afterwards, Salco gives him the crocheted hat she should have given him on New Year's and she took the hat or just made a new one. I think she made a new one.
She would have made a new one. I feel like she took the original and made a new one for her dad. Maybe. Oh, I want them being twins. He's been wearing it. But it's not winter anymore. I know. But like his hair is all in it and stuff. You can watch it. And then she also gives him some of the chocolates that she should have given him on Valentine's Day because she made like exact copies. OK, I thought they were the same ones. And he would be like, oh, no, no, no, no. She kept them. Come on.
Those are old. She just played it. No, she didn't. Yes, I think she doesn't expect him to eat them. That's so dumb. Why would she just make new ones? It's on Sanity. It's been like it's been like three months. I don't know. You have. It's insane. Halloween can be like way, way. No, no. OK. This is insane behavior. Now, I refuse to believe I think she just made new ones. I think she made new ones of everything because we know that she's big effort. She looks putting effort in stuff.
She cares about sanitation. She's not going to be holding on to those chocolates for three months. She probably tossed them out or gave them to her dad or something. I love that to them for sure. She would have hold on. Oh, my God. I think it's because she refers to it as like this is the hat I was going to give you and these are the chocolates as in like this thing. So she's saying those chocolates. She meant literally these things.
I thought I was just like, oh, this was the thing I was supposed to give you, but I'm giving it to you now. But then you know what I mean? She phrased it as in like I was going to give you chocolates. So why are you kind of standing around on things like this? Because it's important. This is a character thing. Listen, I think Saoko is very much like, listen, it's still it's still the ship of Theseus if you replace all the boards because I say it's the ship of Theseus.
All right. These are your Valentine's Day chocolates because it's the same ones. I made you that one time, not literally the same, but I think it is. And she well, because right there, we're made with so many hopes and whatever. It doesn't matter. Yeah. All right. Well, Jesus Christ, I sure hope not. Because I have where's the hat and eats the chocolate. It sounds like food poisoning or something and I'll be OK. How am I the one ruining this? My interpretation is way more charitable and better.
Yours is gross. Are you gross? We didn't tell them to eat it. Oh, it's very happy that them being together will be the norm. Cause a hug sir, as the sun sets behind them, cuts black. No. End of season two. Oh, she says she wants to skip to the part where it's normal. And he's like, no, I want to treasure this time together. Something along those lines. Because my tummy doesn't feel so good. God, just have a little rainbow vomit theme. Season two. OK. My God. Ended on the high note.
Freaking finally. Because they're trudging through. Good episode. Lots of Karumi content. Karumi can get a new girlfriend. That's fun. They're both pretty caddy. They're gonna have some major fight. Yeah. Good man. All right, I think we should have our character. Or we have like big thoughts about season two. And it was weird. It was. Bizarre. Right. We ended up such a high note and then no. Nothing remained of that at the beginning of season two. And only until the last like.
Three episodes are we back to feeling happy about everything. Weird. Yeah, they really did just burn like half of these episodes on nothing. Yeah. Reasons that are I don't understand, because it's not like they were low effort. You know, I felt like I felt like it was there was like a really cheap or anything. Just like didn't have anything to do. Yeah. Bizarre. Bizarre choices. But we got some characters. Yes. Are we I guess we'll rank by this season.
I can't be blinded by my affections for the characters from previous seasons where they don't have that much to do this season. Yeah. Oh, it's gonna be tough. Oh, yeah. Limited options now. How do we feel about Kent? I don't as the character that was in my head. I feel like it. It he kind of didn't work for me because I feel like you guys are right. That like they wanted to have that type of character, like the guy, the male rival, right?
Yeah. But they didn't want to commit to it, it feels like. So he was kind of only half into it. It's weird because Kimi Nitsudoke is like pretty well written and stuff. But a lot of like crappy show Joe, like the ones that never, you know, like all the ones I read online that never they're all being translated. But I feel like that's the thing. They just introduce a secondary character for like a chapter or two to cause drama between the main two. But then they like totally back off.
It's like a throwaway character and art altogether. Like that's pretty common in a lot. Yeah. But this is why like it didn't work because I feel like if they committed, like I've seen stuff with like love rivals and stuff before. And the reason I kept it like interpreting stuff and you guys like, oh, no, this is like a stock trope is because like I feel like they would have gone for it if they were going to do it. But instead they like really have to it. Well, that's how he was.
He's only half into it anyways. So yeah, but it just made it hard to interpret like what was going on. You're all aboard the Kento ship when he first showed up. Because I thought like it is fun to have a character that's just like, I'm a little chaos Gremlin. I like just doing stuff, you know what I mean? Like I just make things happen on a whim. Isn't that fun? And I'm not like and also part of it was every other character was so hands off. Yeah. It's like nothing could happen.
Like the reason why those first five episodes suck is because everyone's so hands off. I don't do anything. Kermi doesn't do anything. Well, Kermi does. Kermi does her best. She tries. Yeah. And Kent's the only one making stuff happen. So I'm like, OK, well, I kind of like this guy because he's doing everything. But like, is he a rival? He doesn't really seem like it. He is her sensei. Like Karumi was a rival. Yeah. Kent is not really a rival. No. No. He's a speed bump.
Yeah. And it almost feels like all those conversations he has with Karumi at the end being like, oh, it would have worked out better if I did it. So we're like, hey, it would have been better if I was actually this trope and said being just half this trope. And she's like, no, that trope sucks. It's like, OK.
Yeah, you know, it's interesting because I feel like when I was watching this this time around, right, there's a lot of times where they kind of imply some kind of connection between her and Kent, because I feel like we see them interact a lot, even though we don't really hear about their history at all. But so I thought maybe they would end up kind of being pushed together as like, but I don't think that I don't know. I think. Right. Like something should have been happening there.
Like she rejected him and he's hung up or mad at her. I don't know. Yeah, his whole deal is weird now that I think about it, because it's like he's he's popular. He has his friends with a lot of women. He's popular with girls, but also everybody else thinks he's a D bag and thinks he's insincere, even though like because I've seen the trope where it's like, oh, this is like the really popular guy, but he's insincere, but like kind of gets away with it.
Kind of like what Kroomey was doing, but like the guy version of it. Yeah. Except nobody buys it. Like everybody thinks he's full of shit. Well, except for these posse of girls he has. Just like a way. No, I don't think that they don't think so either. I think they just are like happy to have male company or they're like into it. Yeah. I don't know. Go to karaoke on his dime or something. Maybe. Yeah, I guess it just never seemed like everyone knows what they're getting into with Kent, I think.
Yeah, it's just a weird. It was just weird. A weird pick for like a rival kind of thing. Yeah. Well, I mean, this is like a pretty fairly long running manga series. So surely other rivals show up at some point. Yeah. Yeah. That's weird because now they're together. Yeah. Yeah. I need someone else to go first because I'm not sure how I feel. Joe, how about you? You seem confident. I seem confident. Thartons and your feelings. Man, it's hard because I have to consider the whole season.
I can't just consider these last three episodes, which would have shuffled everything around. So that means Solico and Kazehaya take an enormous hit from those first several episodes. But they're also the few people getting any kind of face time with us. They also get the most airtime out of anybody. Yeah. Uh huh. Yeah, I guess. So in third place, third place, I'll place Kent. Yeah, that feels that feels right. Third place. Uh huh. That feels pretty good. Okay. In second place, I'll place Ayane.
Because even though she didn't do very much last episode for you, she stepped up as last episode. This is good. She got to be funny in times. Like, she's who drops out of the top because she just didn't get any screen time, I feel like like she had a couple of gags like per episode of those kind of basically. And number one is Karumi, who like stepped it up enormously and carried this whole season on her back. Sorry, Penn, you were fourth place. This is so tough. Yeah. That's mine.
Karumi and Ayane should be making out on top of the first and second stadium or podium. Oh my God. And so over there being like, wow, that's unexpected. Yeah. What about Andy? We finally... Who? Andy, who? How about you? Jenny. You want to go? Yeah. I'm going to go. I'm going to go. I'm going to go. Jenny, you want to go? Okay. I'm still kind of debating. Third place is between Saoko and Kazahaya. You should pick Saoko over Kazahaya. Yeah. Yeah. All right. Saoko. Yeah. She tried really hard.
She learned a lot this season. She grew a lot. It actually executed as she wanted successfully. Second place, Ayane. First place, Karumi. Yeah. Oh man. Saoko is probably my fourth or fifth. Maybe I'll knock Pin down because I don't like him. Two pins sucks. He does kind of suck. He's like doing his laugh. He's like the letter N. I do like how much he barbs Kazahaya. That's the best thing. Everybody should bully Kazahaya a little bit. He seems fun to tease. He does. I know.
Okay. I'm going to say number three is Cheezoo. She actually made me, I think I mentioned this a few episodes ago. I kind of teared up at one part. The episode where after Saoko was like crying in the courtyard or whatever and Cheezoo is like, you know, sad because why can't Saoko value herself the way that they do because they just love her so much. I was like, oh my God, friendship is beautiful.
Yes. I think she's been encouraging and she has been funny like moments where she's like, wait, hold on a second. Kazahaya likes someone that person you like to Saoko? Say what? That was good. She said that Kazahaya likes, I wish she's like, we have to tell Saoko. Yes. So good. And then I guess number two, I'll do Ayane. She's just like Saoko's very godmother. You know, she's trying to oversee her in a more hands-off way. Trying to let her develop on her own, but looking out for her. Number one.
How do you know number two picked it? Not number one. Oh no. In either first or fourth place is... Oh no. No one has got an Edison tie-up. Shut up. Okay, Saoko number one. She's been super cute this season. Oh, she was super cute. Yeah. We're seeing more like, if she was a normal person, glimpses. Or she's all blustered and like, you know, she's so different in this season.
Like she has expectations and hopes and more feelings and not just, you know, like she's feeling her own feelings and not just trying to tiptoe around how everyone else feels or accommodate their feelings. She's thinking about herself, but then eventually she gets to the point where she's like, I should probably think about how's I hire two? I don't know. I'm not proud of her in these last few episodes. Stepping up to the plate. Doing what needs to be done. Yeah. Okay. There. Just take charge.
After eight episodes, she does take charge. Yes. Yeah. Wait for season three where we don't have to deal with that. Yep. Speaking of season three, do we want to... I think we should talk about what we want from season three first. Okay. And then watch it. Okay. Well, obviously number one thing we all want is Ayane, Karumi, Huffling. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. This better happen. I don't think it's going to, but we can hope. I'll take the... But maybe... It should. It should. It should.
One single sentence is all it took for this to come to full. Listen, sometimes that's all it is, you know? Yeah. I don't know. Just cute moments with... We want a kiss. We want a freaking kiss. Yes. We want to know more about Ayane as a person. Yes. Like what up with her? Anything. And he gives me anything. Okay, Sawako meets his little brother. That's something we should see. Yeah. Sure. Yeah, she's an only child. That'll be like a big thing for her. Yeah. Freaking Joe needs to transfer.
We don't need to see him. It's okay. Go away. Penn needs to change his hair. I hate it. I don't think it's happening, but... Jenny, what do you want? I feel like... Are you done? I'm done. I'm done. You just cut her off. That's because she was getting the pins in her hair. I was just going to keep rambling. I have everything now. Okay. Yeah, want kiss? I want more dates. I want to see more dates of them just being cute together and dressing up in cute clothes and going on dates.
I want to have the scene with Chizu and Ryu. They finally get together. I feel like it'll take time for Chizu because she only thinks of Ryu as a brother. So far, I want... What was I going to say? I'm interested to see how Karumi's character is going to be handled now, since her whole role as like... Yes, as like a rival and... Well, I guess she could still hold on to the rival of like Keepsako in line. In line. Responsible and not stupid. But she doesn't... That's it.
It's a very, very small part from like how she was a rival in first season. I see. Kind of second. If she ends up having her own little romance of them being hung up on her, still being hung up on Kazehaya, like being worried that she's not over him. Being a... Yeah, I'm worried. They're going to like put her as another side plot of her romance where she has to get over Kazehaya and the person pursuing her has to be like really like Adam and I guess.
Yeah. You know, I don't know how this series ends, but I have seen that there is like a secondary Kimi Nii Tadokke manga series in print right now. Maybe that's about her. Maybe. That would be nice. Yeah. Right. Because she's been such a big character that maybe that'll be her like get her own really. Maybe if we don't see it in this next season, I'm not sure. I have no idea. Yeah. I want to see where the people are. No drama. No drama. That's not happening.
No drama between the South Coast and the... A quarter of what we got in this season, I think that would be adequate. I want them to finally be the happy established couple. So like there's like different categories. You can have your relationships in your series. They need to already be established happy so we can get only cute scenes of them. And then B plots, C plot can be the other characters getting together with other people. So B plot can be Chizu and Ryu. B plot, Kuroo and I on it.
Oh my God. It sounds like you want fan fiction. It's not fair. Joe, don't we all? You want the fluff. Yeah. I'm not saying we shouldn't make it. I'm just saying like that would be because like you got to have different relationships shown. Can't have two of the same. Yeah. So. Yeah. I think it's. Yeah. Joe. I want, I have several things I want. Anything about Ayane. I know I want her to get with Harumi, but like I'll honestly I'll just take anything at this point. Anything. That's the violence.
Maybe she's just a season about how she like comes to terms with being single and is like happy being single. Not everybody has to be in a relationship. Maybe she can just hang out. She's jealous. And like last two episodes. Sure. What if you just make these bets? No. Unacceptable. They graduate high school and she starts dating. Oh, God. Who would find him attractive? Just turns into the catch up predator or whatever. Catch up. Don was on the scene.
He said to catch a. I thought she said catch up. No. Let's see. Yeah. I mean, Riyu and she is, we should get sorted out. I think it's probably already sorted out, but we'll see if it's not. They'll probably do some other stuff. I need a scene where cause a high has to meet Sawako's parents and her dad has to try to be like a stern dad and can't do it. No. I want to see where they go on a double date.
And like they're like a relationship like the way they interact is very different than the other relationship. And they're like, oh man, are we weird? Are you a weird couple? Yeah. I wanted to be like, are we a weird couple? Like, are other people not like this? Yeah. I want the drama to be about them like trying to contextualize their relationship, not like miscommunications between them. You know what I mean? Yeah. I mean, it turns with their dynamic.
Like, is it really tacky if we were like a matching outfit? Like, is that stupid? Maybe we shouldn't do that. That kind of, that's what I want. Yeah. Just have like little moments. Yeah. Growing pains. I think that'd be good. Yeah. And also I feel like, I don't know, I don't think we need to see more Kent. I feel like we're good with him. I feel like this is a good exit for Karumi as much as I like Karumi unless she is like going to date Ayane.
I just don't know they could do anything that wouldn't, that would be good. But I'm sure they'll do something. So I'll be interested with that. Yeah. Yeah. All right. Sweet. All right. So we're going to watch the trailer. Yeah. So official trailer number one. Yeah. I got, I got, I got both of them pulled up. We could watch one than two. But first off, please appreciate Ken's terrible shirt. What is happening? Look at this shirt. This is what I'm saying. It's paying, it's got epilates.
It got that holder for epilates. It's got a pocket. I mean, it's because that little like V part would have been too scandalous. He's got covered up with a separate piece of fabric. Oh my God. It's like the, as seen on TV little thing. Oh dude, they censored his cleavage. Yes. Now, oh my God. It's, you're right. That takes the cake. That is horrible. That's crazy. The worst shirt I've ever seen. It's such a bad shit. All right. Okay. Here we are.
We're watching Netflix official trailer number one. I'm going to press go. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. Sorry. My phone fell and clicked my mouse. All right. All right. The buying going. All right. Are we ready? I'm going to press play. Audience at home. You can do this too. I'm going to try to talk. I've seen footage. 13 years after season two in real time. In real time. 13 years. No, it's in real time. No, I know. It took this long to get there season. Oh yeah.
Her feelings and the art style looks pretty good. Sometimes you never know. The way factors are modern. It's yeah. It's not as, I don't know. There. This is scenes we've already seen. This is the confession through the door. Scene. Yeah. Animated. Yeah. They're finally together. It says, yeah, Jesus Christ. Movie trailers. So I was like, what am I going to do? How do you be in a couple? I'm all flustered. Oh God. Is she going to be insecure about the relationship? The whole season. Oh, yeah.
She can do it a little bit. Are they going to hold hands? Dude, they're not going to kiss. There's no way they're going to kiss. If like the drama point is, are they going to hold hands? All the voice actors are back. Yeah. Kent is also back. Karumi is also back. Do I look calm and calm? Oh, they hold hands at the end of the trailer. So maybe there is enough room for a kiss. Just real. Maybe we'll do a time skip. I'm going to do a time skip. I'm going to do a time skip.
I'm going to do a time skip. I'm going to do a time skip. Maybe we'll do a time skip. No, I hate time skips. Maybe like a couple months at most. The love story continues. It's going to be like what happened. Go to college. Are they going to stay in college? Are they going to break it off? That's going to be a thing. Yeah. So season one or trailer one, not that much new information. Just holding the style. It does look slightly different. It does. All right.
Official trailer number two is a little bit longer. So maybe it's got more juice. Okay. Okay. This is the first day out the close cash. Planetarium day. Okay. So we're getting elaboration on the date that we see it. We're going to get elaboration on this date. We don't need elaboration on this. Oh, he looks so cute. Oh, Ion is sure he's getting close to Sawler. She knows what that looks like. Ion is sure his co-fool is getting close to women. She wants her to kiss.
The co-fool is getting close to women. He's going to get close to women. He's going to get close to women. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. They go to Okinawa. Wow. Kazai Haya is here in my daily life. Big whale in the sky. Oh. Wow. He's dragging her off. Dude, I remember you talking about his voice actors the same for his. So kind. It's so wild. Oh, I forgot. I don't know. Oh, I forgot. Joe's in it. I fucking told you. Oh, B-plot. I told you. So she definitely did not enter.
Yes, exactly. Okay. We get a B-plot with Cheezoo about it. She's going to date someone else. Cheezoo realizes he can actually date. Oh, Ion A. Fuck yeah, man. Oh, we get some Ion A content. Yeah. Well, Ion A fall in love with someday. You already have, maybe. Search in your heart. No. Oh, no. It's going to be cat. No. Don't sell for him. Karumi's right there. Oh, they're so close. They're bumping into each other. You guys are never going to kiss. Oh, you're so close.
You're going to touch four hats again, cowards. Oh, but she's looking up. Okay. Here we go. Snap. Close your eyes, Solaco. Close your eyes. Remember the last time she closed her eyes. Opening song, et cetera. Oh, true. Cause I was ready to kiss her episode four. Like, bum now. Ion A. To be with Kento. It's, it's. It feels so much like he's the leftover guy. So she has, that's it, you know, I mean, I guess it's better than pin. We got to pair everybody up.
It's the end of Naruto and everybody has to get in a sexual relationship now. I'm embarrassed. Oh my God. That's like a good thing. Oh no. Yeah. Okay. I'm stressed out now. I don't want her with Kento. No. It's not the best. Um, he better shape up for my Ion A. Oh my God. Okay. I'm sorry, but I called it with it having to be some external factor to push Shizu to realize her feelings for you. Yeah. Yeah. You're right. I guess it would have been kind of lame if it was the thing we got in this.
I just feel like this was okay. I felt like, you know, I was, I was all right with. I want to know. 13 years. Oh my God. Okay. Well, I'm giving my thoughts. Oh my God. Joe is still in it. Oh, do we see it? Oh, I just probably like pin clogs him on the head. Okay. Good. Okay. Well then pins not a concern maybe or they're throwing a boss throwing us off the set. Yeah. Now it's going to be Kenta. Guess it seems like a consolation prize. I feel like Ion A could do a little bit better than that.
I mean, I, he is on her wavelength. Like she wants somebody who's smarter. At least they're the same age. What? They're the same age at least. They're the same age. City college boys up to this point. You know, he is, he is, he's not a huge jerk. I mean, he's not a jerk really. He's just kind of like a noxious. He just told her he kind of was into her friend. Yeah, but like whatever. I'm distracted by this video in my recommended that says Korean kids meet Billie Eilish. Oh, I watched that.
But I didn't finish it. Okay. So this comes out in like, three days. Yeah. So we're going to do episodes like what standalone episodes that just are, no, we're going to do alternating weeks. So we'll do our first episode. Of what our new, our next show is and then the next following week will be the two episodes. Or no, is this all dropping at once? I don't know. They haven't said, I think it's going to be airing. My guess is that it's airing.
And also Netflix has been kind of staggering releases of stuff. Like pretty regular. Yeah. Shown in stuff. I don't know about show Joe. Yeah. So I'm going to expect that they do that. If it's not. So if they, if they drop it all at once, we'll just do episodes like normal. If they don't do it, they're going to do it. So two episodes of it. And then we'll do it. Or we'll be doing it all at once. Well, just do episodes like normal.
Yeah. If they don't drop it all at once, then we're going to alternate two episodes of the show that we're going to watch or however many we're going to cover. It's probably two. And then two episodes of this. So it's every other week. Okay. Well, so I reveal what. have banger opening. Very cute. The protagonist, I love her. Her name is so cute. Nanami Manozenau is so cute. And it's got, this will be our first series with more fantasy
elements. You know, high school age, but not based in school life. Yeah. So I'm excited. My sister loves the series, so she'll probably be our second guest ever. So it'll be interesting to hear you and her talking together. So I've seen that maybe once. Okay. So it's been a hot second since I watched it. I've read a bit of the manga, but it's a good series. There's only two seasons. Maybe this will get a third season in a couple of more years. If you want to watch along with us, it is streaming
on Crunchyroll. And also it looks like Hulu. Yeah. It's a pretty popular one, I think. Yeah. So that's what we're covering next. Either after season three or congruently with season three. We need to do okay. TBD. Yeah. We'll know in a few days. Yeah, you'll know. You'll know at the same time as us. Yes. Yeah. So that's that. This is typically where we go into recommendations of which I as Jenny. Do you
have a recommendation, Jenny? Yes. Let's hear it. I am recommending another game. It is on Steam. I'll know if it's on anywhere else. But it's the game's called Chance of Cenar. So it is inspired by the myth of Babel. And it's like a language kind of association game where you are a traveler and you're just traveling to different cities and you have to figure out the language of the people in that city through like interacting with things or talking to people or like solving little quests.
So like a person in the city will say a bunch of stuff, but it's all in like symbols. And you have to piece together what each symbol means in context to what they're saying. Yeah, it's a really unique game that I've well, I've never heard of a game doing this before of just like kind of translating through images and stuff and like learning the language as you go. The sound design is really good. The art is phenomenal and the like color choice, the what's it called like color palette.
Yeah. Really, really pretty. Yeah, lots of reds and yellows. Yeah, lots of like contrasting colors. And it's on sale right now. It's 30% off. So it's like originally $20 on sale for $14 right now. It's a really fun game. It's pretty short. I think I only spent like, I don't know, like less than 10 hours playing it all the way through. Does it have high replayability? Like you can do different things or it's pretty straightforward. I think just like a once playthrough. That's it. There is
like a lot to explore in each city. And they all connect together because you're trying to like solve why these cities are like disconnected now. Why don't they contact each other or talk to each other anymore? And there's like lots of misunderstandings because of like the language barrier. And yeah, it's a fun game. Nice. Yeah. Can you figure out with puzzles, which is always fun. I suck at puzzles. Man. Yeah, it looks cool. Added it to my wishlist. I want to challenge my brain.
Apparently the vinyl is out. Boundtrack vinyl record out. It did have a pretty soundtrack. All right, Joe, do you want to? I haven't thought of one yet. I also recommend a game. I'm going to recommend a game I haven't been yet. So, you know, who knows
the last half could be terrible, but I'm having a really good time so far. So I'm going to recommend Withering Rooms, which is a 2.5 D horror game that is a rogue light, a rogue light, where you play as a girl who is trapped in a nightmare in a Victorian mansion where the
night changes every time you die or every time you have to restart. Essentially, the premise is that you are at an asylum and every night when you go to sleep, you go to this dream world where there are bad guys and witches and statues that come to life and all this other stuff. And you have to find a way out and you can do things like cast spells, which give you power-ups or pick up weapons. You can use to fight things. There's like little stat boosts you can get.
You can get permanent stat boosts that will make things better. There's a lot of things you can do and it's very fun to go through it. It's a horror game that has like, you know, the enemy design is pretty fun, but you know, you can fight back against things. It's not like you're playing amnesia where you just have to hide, but you can hide and sneak around, which is kind of more of a thing you do at the beginning and then as you level up, you're able to actually confront some stuff.
And it's like pretty fun so far. It's not terribly difficult, although again, you know, there might be a difficulty spike I just haven't gotten to yet. The location so far been pretty good, you know, you go into the basement, you go into the courtyard, you go through a hedge maze. Good stuff. So I'm looking forward to playing this more and getting to the end of it. But so far, I'm having a really good time. It's about like 20 bucks or so, $25. You can get it on steam,
you can get it on Gog. It was on sale for the steam sale, so I got a little bit cheaper. I think I bought it from the summer sale from Gog, actually. Apparently it's also on PS5. So yeah, check it out if you like roguelikes and horror stuff. Nice. Where are the rooms? All right. I'm going to break the cycle and recommend a manga series. The Shorjo manga, so relevant. It's called Beauty Pop. And I have the full manga set. There's no anime of it, but it's cool because it's kind of a fashion
S, like cosmetic themed manga series about this chick who's in high school. If she doesn't seem very stylish, she's just got like a bob cut and this and that. And the kind of player up is like pretty like indifferent to everything. And then there's like this 20, 20 group of boys who like have this beauty group basically where they like take requests from girls to transform them. And then those girls typically then go confess to the guy and then the success rate super high,
but they're kind of jerks about it. And so like a girl that they turned down, she runs into and decides to give her a makeover. And then like she shows up and the guy she confesses to is actually one of the members of this group. And so they're like, who the heck did this? Like this, you know, it's all like kind of like sports, the anime are all like, oh, the form blah, blah, blah. But like, look at that cut her hair. It's flawless. Who did those nails? Kind of like the skill level. Who
could have done this from our school? And then kind of like that's the like setup of it. It's pretty funny. I yeah, I like it. You know, right, there's lots of cute moments because they do all these dolling up of girls. And so there's lots of more interesting stylings of characters that you would see normally in this series where it's just the same characters. It's 10 volumes. It's probably maybe like 15 years old at this point. But yeah, that's that's my recommendation. It's
easy going, not too stressful. There's a cat. We love cat. I don't know. I love cats. So there's a cat in it. Yeah, so interesting and fun. So beauty pop, if you're interested. And now, and now, so we'll tell us all about how you can help us. Can rate us five stars, which you should do right now. Go go and do it. I haven't seen any new ratings lately. So I guess we have no new listeners or they hate us. So haters. What's going on? We watched a good show
that's new or about to be new. So you guys should be rating and recommending us to all of your friends. So tell them get them excited for season three. You like, listen, I just rewatched my favorite show with podcasts with my favorite podcast. And now I'm going to watch season three on Netflix. This can be your Netflix and chill. Just throw this on and then don't do anything else but watch it. It's in sub and dub. It's in sub and dub, I think. Oh, I don't know about the new one.
Well, I think it'll be final. Yeah, they like doing that nowadays. That's like that was Funimation's thing. And now that that's been taken over, I guess. So do that. Yeah, sweet. Cool. Well, let's see. Do we have any takeaways to part with our listeners today that we learned? People are paying attention to your clothing. So don't pick up weird ass shirt. Because then it's going to make people not want you to date their favorite character of the series
because you have terrible taste in shirt. Sensor his cleavage. Yeah. Don't let your cleavage be censored. Just like just have it. Just have it out. It's fine. There were gay people in 2007 or whatever this came out. Yeah. Yeah. Definitely. You could just put the two best women in your show together. They could just be a couple. You could just do that. It's fine. Give them a little bit of a lot. You don't have to do this. If I was a guy, I would do this.
Like, I don't know. I don't know. You could be a guy right now if you wanted to. Go for it. Anything could happen. Oh, we shall see, man. There's no way. She's going to be with Kent, according to the curriculum. I don't hate it. I don't hate it. I don't hate it. It's just not as good because like, Karumi has an absolute advantage. She is better in every way on every dimension than Kent is the thing. Well, this is the opportunity to bring new characters into the show.
Yeah. Kent is so not one of the best characters. So start from scratch with someone new. Bring us the new hottie for Ayane. So frustrating. We shall see, I guess, as soon as August 1st. We'll see what the direction of season three goes and we'll let you know what you'll find out, I guess, how that plays out as far as our episode ordering. Yeah, God. You know, even if you make, you know, you can just start, you can just make good episodes whenever you want. You make eight not very good episodes.
