Think Again: A Conversation on Inclusion, with Davey Shlasko
Episode description
Join me in my conversation with Davey Shlasko, as we approach the topic of inclusion from a different lens.
Inclusion has been something that I, personally, have been looking and reflecting on where I need to do work within myself, and how I can take more action as an advocate for others. As Davey shares in this podcast, it starts there. It starts with each of us taking a personal inventory and seeing where we need to step it up to make an impact.
We discuss:
- How Davey got started in this work
- How the normal, default isn't good enough and how we need to do more than simply avoid having a negative impact or stay neutral.
- How we can make the biggest impact possible, and create a ripple effect, on a daily basis
- What the definitions are for terms we may hear and not understand fully, such as: classism, ableism, and cissexism (transgender oppression) and how these show up in the world.
-
How we can create more inclusion with our businesses
