The Biden Administration and the Dept of Education are moving forward with Student Loan Borrower Relief Plan and forgivensss that will impact 43 million borrowers, of which 20 million will have entire loan amount eliminated. When Biden announced his plan, he didn’t issue an executive order. The administration drew on the HEROES Act, a law passed after the 9/11 terrorist attacks that allows relief from student loan payments during times of war or national emergency.
