MMA fighter Andrew Mavridis joined me in studio to discuss his upcoming Pro debut this December. He currently is 7-0-0 which has earned him the title of Amateur Canadian Lightweight Champ. Born & raised in Wainwright AB he went from tier 2 Bantam to playing in the WHL. He earned his keep as someone willing to drop the mitts and found his way to Calgary Flames & Edmonton Oilers tryouts and spent time in the AHL & ECHL. He now coaches and trains the up and comers of the next generation and has a unique insight to share.
Born in 1931, Vic grew up on a farm near Lavoy, Alberta. He graduated from U of A with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and would move to Lloydminster in 1953 where he began his 40 year career with Husky Energy. We discuss the Oil Industry, his endless volunteering where he has been awarded countless medals for his service to the City, Province & Country. Oh and did I mention it was his 64th wedding anniversary... yeah that too. He's quite the guy.

Jantzen & TJ both grew up in Lloydminster and played together all through minor hockey culminating in a trip to the Telus Cup. Jantzen was selected 15th overall in the Bantam draft and played 4 years in the WHL. TJ went undrafted and just finished his 3rd and final year in the AJHL becoming the CJHL defensemen of the year. This one was pretty cool. Murray and I did this episode live at the Lashburn Elementary School in front of different classes who sat and watched throughout the interview. Murray is retired from teaching (30years) and now is a full time painter. He taught himself rugby by reading a book and went on to coach the Lashburn High School to 5 provincial championship.
