Sermon: Responses to the Message of God

Happy Easter! What's inside Jesus' tomb? Nothing! Yes it was a trick question but the answer is what makes Easter so happy. Jesus died and was resurrected. A Friday of sadness, grief, and loss was met with a Sunday of wonder, exhulation, and joy. There is no better news than Gospel news.

On Sunday we will meet Jesus on a field where a crowd of people seek to test his claim to be God's Son. Rather than acquiesce to their demand for a sign he teaches them about what an appropriate response to his ministry would look from the Old Testament. Jesus shows us what appropriate and inappropriate responses to the message of God looks like and he teaches us where those responses come from; they come from the inside.
