Ten days for Play. Welcome to seven days to play your Weekly mobile game review program. I'm Edwin and I'm saint for the past seven days. I have challenged Edwin to play Battle Breakers from epic games. I'd like to sing battle Breakers to the tune of jungle boogie while. I think you need to do it for us. Now that's all Breakers. Burn fat for Breakers are. Come on get down. Anyway yes he says all these different things. I'm goes, there you go. I'll get it out of your head.

Okay? Now, you're welcome. Yeah, probably better than the game. That'll Breakers is the latest mobile entry from epic games. They are pushing this in all fronts. They're pushing it on iOS Android and even on the PC, you can find this game on Steam and on of course on the epic games.

Placed all Epic store, they'll have a stool, gotta have that store and I thought maybe it would be a little different on PC because they do It quite prominently but no it is the same game they show it on like a vertical screen on your PC, just in with like graphical enhances on the sidebar. Is there to fill up that empty space just doing. Yeah, so most mobile first, it is mobile first. Then PC at the same time or later. So yeah, this is a I would say it's a tactical color matching

RPG. Should we throw turn-based in there as well turn? Yeah, exactly. Turn-based. Sure why not? Tactical color matching, turn-based, RPG. Check, check, check check pray. There are lots of gems on the screen, or what looks like gems, which you have to tap to make

them explode. There's probably some logic that happens when you do this, but you also have like a set of characters at the bottom row which are also colored and in order to use them effectively, there is sort of like a, you know, rock-paper-scissors mechanic of the green element is strong against the, the red element. And the red element is strong against the blue element, you know, like it's like a triangle of power and you gotta know

which ones to use. In order to effectively break, those color blocks, but some color blocks, as you break them, they spawn monsters. And these monsters have hit points. And this is where you have to use your characters effectively in order to defeat those monsters. Hmm. Can I tell you? You might be asking where do these monsters come from? Well, allow me to quote, the theme song. Monsters from the sky. Want us all to die. They're hiding underground.

Now they must all be found. Okay well I think that explains it all. Oh that age-old pawn. Yes. But let me also read you. The description of course in their own was. Let's in their own words like the game to us. Monsters. From monsters, from space trapped the world's greatest heroes in techno magic Crystal. Now, it would sure it's one word techno magic Crystal. Now, it's up to you to assemble the ultimate team of super Warriors and take back your planet.

One break at a time in this cartoon inspired hero collector RPG built as a passion project, by a small team at epic games. Oh, they even put that in the blubber, interesting. Yeah. So there is another aspect to this which is the collection aspect.

So when the game starts it goes through your, you know, your round of tutorials of like how this game actually functions by playing through a level and you actually start off with maybe like five characters and then at the end of that level, they get encased in this techno magic Crystal, by the, the batty, the big Baddie. Big, boom. Betty. Oh no, he's trapped in his technical crystals and You have to select one character from then on to that will represent your your team.

And so immediately you get the sense of like, okay, I wanted this game is to actually collect these characters and level them up. Uh-huh. Which comes to, I think it's like a big portion of like, very Asian Centric. Mobile game is like, you have to collect every character that's out there and each character has like a different flavor, you can Adorn them with like different costumes and weapons, and level them up. So their stats become powerful. Oil.

And this is where like wear a lot of like Asian Games, really build that fan base and money. So people pay for like microtransactions to like, you know, Adorn them with new costumes for the season and all that stuff. So I can see, I can see how that aspect they tried tried to like carry this over Belgium. So there is a cutout color matching aspect where you tapped the map and then the brakes. And then I'd say like a level lasts about five minutes of you,

maybe a little less. Five minutes of you doing that and then you move on to the next level. But before you move on to the next level, there is a little Exposition. That tells you what's happening in this world of battle Breakers. Hmm. And yeah, so everything happens in right in front of your face, there's lots of stuff happening. Lots of explosions and Splish, Splash has, and everyone really eager. I think there's some voiceover work as well. Right.

And then, yeah, you have to just either click Okay, click submit, click continue click OK again and then tap on the map and then then you're playing the map again but on top of that, you know if you're if you're too tired to press on the colored blocks right? It's been a long day. It's been a long day. You can simply press the auto button, which is on the right hand side. Let's talk about the auto button. I'm kind of baffled as to why it's there, right?

And when you press on this, it just does everything for you. It breaks the blocks for you. It starts killing the enemies for you. It starts using your special powers for you and it finishes the level for you, right? Then allows you to go to the next level. Yeah. How did you feel about us? So I think this is for people that have probably played the

game. For a much longer time and it's know you're no longer interested and color matching, you're no longer really interested in using your special powers to make sure you kill that body because that at this point, you're probably strong enough to just like, you know, kill them right away or like, it just takes a little bit more time. Yeah. And you're more in it to like upgrade your person and get the weapons and the Adornments. That your character might have. Yeah.

And so this is just to like move it along. Yeah, because there's nothing, there's a bunch of games that are very similar to this, which I've done, which I found out through my preliminary reading, as a games. Professional preparing for the show, right? It seems that I think there's like a final fantasy version that does this. I actually think what was that last drakonia? What is it that we play Galia?

Lost regalia lost plus? Yeah. yeah, it's kind of like this as well, but I do feel like there's actually more of a gameplay element and regalia lost Yes certainly but it's funny is this him strangers, they have this kind of a lengthy tutorial at the beginning yet they also have an autoplay like if they're catering for players who played a lot of this style

of game, right? They will be annoyed by this lengthy tutorial, but the same time for a person for a new player, they might be just a bit baffled as to why the autoplay option is there? Hey, I totally see that. It's like, if you're going to have this really lengthy tutorial, And then kind of prove that it's not really worth learning all this stuff with in Auto button. Yeah. Right. That just sort of goes past everything, it kind of really

contradicts itself, doesn't it? One fun thing is there's a few Fortnight character crossovers mmm in the game. If your fault nighter. So, with equal people who play for tonight, sure, why not? Yeah, if you're all nighter you may recognize some characters the pop-up in this game. Hmm. Easter egg. Playful night. I don't play this game. I didn't find them, but I understand, they are out there. Sure. Being a game made from epic. I feel like there's lots of opportunities for crossover.

Oh, I think he's like the pink bunny. Mmm. I'm yeah, I think I've seen on some streams. Yeah, I think there are some accidentally. What's important screaming? All, I know is that there's a guy in like a mask, like, kind of a cool looking mask and like a dark suit, kind of a robotic suit. That's all I know. You'll be back to play the game and try and guess which these characters are Fortnight crossover. See ya. So, let's get on to the three, three by threes Edwin. Yes, three things.

Get in three things, bad. My first point that theme song, Pretty good. If you like well produce theme songs, slow almost like a perfect 90s children's cartoon theme song, it totally is. You know, there's like a nice animatic. That goes with it as well. It got me excited about the game when I first started it up. Yeah. Me too. I was like, okay, I'm into this right? They even had that little section in the Middle where it's like battle Breakers in a world where blow line and it goes back

to the theme song. It was really well done as a nice touch. Hastings need to be too high, so If you like fantasy sci-fi story lines. Yeah, how do you find the story techno crystals from above? I mean, it was hiding in the ground. Gotta catch em. All it is very like fluffy.

Mmm. But if you're the type of person that expects a little something in, between to move things along, maybe you'll like it. I personally found it just like kind of meaningless right that introduced me to characters that I, you know, there was like, No, real drive. There is a some like sudden urgency. It wasn't didn't seem like a really well-crafted story just something that's been added on and yet they expanded so much on these expositions and like a comic book style.

Yeah. That didn't really work for me so I just I was kind of forced to just skip over it but if you like that kind of stuff and maybe you'll like this because there is a lot of it, there is And that's what a good point. Wait, maybe do like casual style color matching games.

That's even casual enough for you, to set it to auto mode feels like, makes you feel like you're doing something, this might be the game for you, like I feel there is a market for this stuff where people like the collection aspect people, like the leveling up aspect, you're building up your character, right? Every every day you can make a little, you can chip away at the XP, you know, and make the character a little better. You might like this game. Yeah, right. It's free.

Yeah, but boy, that's first thing that tutorial. I'm cygwin the bad points. Like, if you do like casual games. Hello? I'm Edwin. I like casual games, like to be given this sort of pretty heavy-handed tutorial first up. There's any of even some languages, like choose your character, you will go to change it later stuff, which is always a little bit off-putting. Ray have no idea. Really, what you're doing, I chose someone who looked like

everyone else. Well, The characters I couldn't he tell you the difference between them is basically never isn't it too early on in the game. You have no real context for who they are. And yeah, I got any relationship with them at all right. Right. And then you get this very heavy feeling tutorial. Yeah, you can turn to off and so I was already noise in the game and then kablam you're hit with

the login wall. Mmm, you better have your epic megagames ID already set up because otherwise You have to go through whole sign up process. And that was a point where I failed out because I was annoyed and Furious, right? So lazy. Yeah. If you're looking for a deep meaningful, puzzle game with deep tactics, even if the tutorial makes it seem like it's

something a little bit deeper. Ultimately when you actually play, I mean I feel like you can play this without really looking at it, you can just tap anywhere on the screen and you'll probably get to the next level. We do something. Right? Yes, because it's very, very cluttered feeling, it's very cluttered healing and I almost feels like there's really no Faults. Why do you mean like I find it very difficult for all of your characters to die. So you fail, that level.

Oh, I see what this is. You're not going to fail. There's no right impending, doom. Yeah, and you know, one of the main aspects of this like this color breaking, like your breaker, you're breaking these color blocks, don't battling as well, and there doesn't seem to be any tactics and you breaking them as well, like, what order you have to break them. Like, and when you see this color matching, this, this color game, you kind of feel like, oh,

maybe it's a game. Or after destroyed this block first and then allow me to destroy this block second and some strategy but no, it's just you just break them all. Let's just say it's like pop ringing, what is that? Yes, it's like the, the packaging bubble. This is kind of like, you know, breaking the packaging bubbles poppity pop. If you like that kind of game, this might be a gift for now. I'm actually a night like this. The visual style is, I was confused by it.

I understand that like, there is a style of this very hyper color. Very cluttered very easily in your face visuals as like, that's cool. Like, I get that. But there's something about this game. That just felt messy ride and just like cluttered and hyperactive. He was also just kind of clumsy and unappealing. Yeah, the same way. There was there was an aspect.

I mean outside of that. It just felt like very hmm, a student we know what the style was like you didn't seem like the fonts and the it kind of reminded me together at all kind of reminded me of being on deviantART Where there's a lot of really good art but there's no UI or proper UI design, that sort of fits it all together. Yeah, right. It's just like really good art, really good art, really good

art. You know, the Artistry of like the characters are all really well done but when they're just all like sort of smushed together without a nicely designed canvas. It's just you know it just seems like it's hot garbage. Like all over your screen. Yeah and everything's exploding. Everything is like multicolored. Everything is super Dynamic with motion blur and you know it's just a Too much. Yeah. Agreed Sam. What was your final 70 rating

for battle Breakers, you days? No no no their Breakers and in Europe gonna do mobile phone, how the song goes? Yeah, it was a one day for me, I do you ask me, there's a, I miss a two-day as well because I may have started the tutorial once or twice Bray. And of course, it forgets to be opposition in the tutorial because it is B you to have a longer attention span than I do. So, I had to replay that a few times and then I hit the sign up, all when I was Furious. Wow. So I'm I'm very badly.

I mean, that's a solid. I mean, I feel like there's no reason to stop. I just hate, I just was just up. Ya know. But this is exactly why games and the Apple arcade exists. Yeah. Right. It's because there's no sign up needed. There's no ads. It's sort of, like, kind of quality controlled for these reasons that allows you to be an apple arcade, right? Yeah. So I get it. I mean if that's Stopper for you in the stopper for you. And I will stopped. And you are stopped.

I was stopped for other reasons. But yeah, today's and one day, sorry battle Breakers. We tried to like it. This is also recommended by the Chad. Oh, yeah. The snare of the show. He did say the theme song was great. Yeah. So he's right, which is great. Yeah, I agree. I'm so just listen, the soundtrack on Spotify. That was Battle Breakers. Chosen by Sam, which means now Falls to me to pick the game. For the next week, Sam, you have seven days to Play, heli, 100ml

atli. The number 100 are already a bit, you know, I'm already biased by the name. Hmm, but let's see. Well, let me tell you, we are revisiting a game from one of the previous developers. This is tree man games and they have made. That's cop chasing game. Oh, Paco, Paco, forever, Paco, and Paco, forever. Yes, they've got a new game out. Heli, 100, 100 plus levels. Of Destruction to record.

It Haley 100-plus. Anyway, they have a new game out as a few weeks ago, and that is what you should be paying for the next seven days. All right, I did, like, Paco I did too so, we'll see how this goes. Before we go Edwin. Things of the week, low. My thing of the week is the TV series Daybreak on Netflix conquer. Give it a full hearted recommendation, but it was enjoyable, nonsense. Mmm, Kyle, perfect, like, Thanksgiving week where your

little bit lazy. You can want something a little bit fluffy, but also comical but also you're not too heavily invested in it, and that was kind of just a perfect thing. Hmm. It is a popular post, apocalyptic teenager World. That also has Matthew Broderick in it. Oh, that's right. It does have Matthew Broderick in it. And if that is not enough to tempt you, then I don't know what it is, but it's a, it's a fun game. It's a fun place. A fun romp.

Yeah, if I were to describe it it's kind of like they got the essence of like an 80s movie but made it into a TV show for now. Yeah, the first 30 minutes of very much. What the hell is going on, right? With a lot of like had tips to older 80 movies. Yeah. Like I think it's very uneven. I think the first opening it was a whole verse episode is a

little bit like wait what? This just feels crazy but it does settle down and I think we are a little bit, like, are the first episode pops, come this half inning the second or third episode. We were, we were hooked. So yeah, give it a try, be warned. Yes, the first episode is pretty crazy but it was a fun, what fun? It was a fun Thanksgiving week watching. I can see that. Yeah I think I made it past the first episode and decided. Okay I might give this try. Yeah, yeah.

My thing the week is another Show on Netflix. I'll look at us. It is the third season of dragon Prince It's wild horse prints red. I wish I almost when he died impressive. It is the third season of an animated show by the creators of the last Avatar and Legend of Korra from their head writer era. Neha's, why do you know so much chi? Chi is sort of like, you know, this was his after he finished writing, I think. The Last Airbender or the last Avatar.

He went on to like sort of leading this with a new company called Wonder storm entertainment which Netflix has fully produced which is cool stall. It's on season three only like 10 episodes per season. 30-minute episodes animation is done cool in like a CG way but it sells shade is it looks like a cartoon.

Hmm cool. It touches on like pretty heavy moral decisions but done with like a lightness that makes it really palatable but like they're really pretty intricate stories of like what's happening as compared to like you know the last Avatar which we've all seen what you've all seen. Yes suddenly this room but yeah it's great. I think you know still continuing to watch it wrapped up season three looking forward to season for also do stuff.

Nice. I will add that to the list alongside Hilux high tea hi Hugh yes which is not spell how I thought it was felt. No hiq. That would have been great sounds like a British quiz show you how is it spelled h AI Kyu. Exclamation mark exclamation mark oh the double exclamation point bang Bang's and that's our show Sam. You have seven days to play. Hello. 100, heli, yes, kind of fun to say Haley 100 and as I show them this way,
