Solemnity of our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe
‘So you are a king then?’ said Pilate. ‘It is you who say it’ answered Jesus. ‘Yes, I am a king.

And then they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory
This poor widow has put more in than all who have contributed to the treasury; for they have all put in money they had over, but she from the little she had has put in everything she possessed, all she had to live on.
Listen, Israel, the Lord our God is the one Lord, and you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind and with all your strength.
Then Jesus spoke, ‘What do you want me to do for you?’ ‘Rabbuni,’ the blind man said to him ‘Master, let me see again.’
For the Son of Man himself did not come to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
‘There is one thing you lack. Go and sell everything you own and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me.’
This is why a man must leave father and mother, and the two become one body. They are no longer two, therefore, but one body. So then, what God has united, man must not divide.’
‘Master, we saw a man who is not one of us casting out devils in your name; and because he was not one of us we tried to stop him.’
‘If anyone wants to be first, he must make himself last of all and servant of all.’
‘But you,’ he asked ‘who do you say I am?’ Peter spoke up and said to him, ‘You are the Christ.’
‘Ephphatha’, that is, ‘Be opened.’
This people honours me only with lip-service, while their hearts are far from me.
‘Lord, who shall we go to? You have the message of eternal life, and we believe; we know that you are the Holy One of God.’
The sanctuary of God in heaven opened and the ark of the covenant could be seen inside it.
'So do not worry about tomorrow: tomorrow will take care of itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.’
‘I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never be hungry; he who believes in me will never thirst.’
‘If I have indeed won your favour, Lord,’ he said ‘let my Lord come with us, I beg. True, they are a headstrong people, but forgive us our faults and our sins, and adopt us as your heritage.’
“Make us a god to go at our head; this Moses, the man who brought us up from Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.”
Then Jesus took the loaves, gave thanks, and gave them out to all who were sitting ready;
'This’ Moses said ‘is the blood of the Covenant that the Lord has made with you, containing all these rules.’
‘I am the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. ‘You shall have no gods except me.'
Jesus said, ‘Mary!’ She knew him then and said to him in Hebrew, ‘Rabbuni!’ – which means Master.
‘That’ said Moses to them ‘is the bread the Lord gives you to eat.’
He took pity on them because they were like sheep without a shepherd.
"So they set off to preach repentance; and they cast out many devils, and anointed many sick people with oil and cured them."
‘A prophet is only despised in his own country, among his own relations and in his own house’
‘Do not be afraid; only have faith.’
‘Who can this be? Even the wind and the sea obey him.’
This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man throws seed on the land....
