If you have ever been asked to say what exactly it is that Christians believe you’ll know that it’s harder than it looks to say it simply and without leaving anything out. Creeds like the Nicene Creed – which is 1700 years old this year – are a valuable tool for helping us summarise the faith. Today we look at the Council itself and where they chose to begin the story of their belief.
