Episode description

Regular website SEO audits are critical for determining if there are any on-site or off-site issues that may be hampering your website rankings and overall user experience. In this episode we discuss the elements that should be included in your website audit, including:

  • Duplicate content issues
  • Thin content issues
  • URL structures
  • Title tags, meta tags and meta descriptions
  • Inbound links & a full link audit, including looking for toxic links
  • Keyword focus and anchor text variability
  • Page load speed and code validation
  • Image alt tags and descriptions
  • Outbound linking structures
  • Internal links

In addition to running a high-level audit, it is also important to run a full content audit to make sure you're only placing emphasis on on-site content that performs well, beefing-up or improving content that does not perform well or getting rid of (301 redirecting or 404-ing) content that does not perform well.
