Is Wikipedia Getting into Search Engine Development?
Jul 21, 2020•8 min
Episode description
Compared to the other major tech giants Wikipedia is the only one that hasn’t developed its own search engine, yet. Wikipedia’s goal is to provide the world with access to transparent information that is unbiased. The plan for their “knowledge engine” has been in the works for some time. The question is how will it affect SEO if it becomes reality? It’s all speculation at this point but it could decrease search share, increase visibility challenges, decrease advertising opportunities or influence their competition.
