Chris sits down for the first interview with metal drummer James Payne following the recent announcement that he'll be taking over behind the kit for Canadian death metal giants Kataklysm.
James is still also playing for Hiss From The Mote, a death metal band out of Italy - his homeland before making the jump to Los Angeles - and he's previously played with Hour of Penance, Vital Remains, Necromega and others. He also teaches his unique approaches, perspectives and techniques on metal drumming through his website - www.jamespaynedrums.com.
James is a fascinating guy with a lot of knowledge and wisdom to share beyond his blazing fast double bass and blast beats.
