What is the history of neuroscience? What role does philosophy play in our understanding of how the brain works? In this interview, Athanasios Bourganos (also known as @Cognic on YouTube) and I discuss these fascinating questions. We also touch on free will, how to think about neuroscientific findings, science communication, and generally how the brain works.

Athanasios Bourganos is a neuroscientist and content creator through his YouTube channel, Cognic (https://www.youtube.com/c/cognic). He wants to improve the public's understanding of neuroscience and the human brain via digestible videos that anyone can enjoy. Athanasios received an honors Bachelor of Science with a focus in Neuroscience from the University of Toronto in Ontario, Canada. He currently works as a researcher in the Mack lab at the University of Toronto. Athanasios recently developed a data visualizer for a project called HippCircuit, where he and the project lead are trying to create a tractography atlas of the human hippocampus (https://macklab.github.io/hippcircuit/).   Check out Athan’s channel: @Cognic (https://www.youtube.com/c/Cognic)
