Self-care is not selfish – it’s essential, and if you want to love yourself up you must make your self-care a priority. It’s a no-brainer.
The best time of the day to ensure you can do your self-care rituals is in the morning, and regardless of how busy you are, this is usually where you have more control over time than any other time of the day. You might have to get up slightly earlier to achieve a better self-care routine but it is well and truly worth it. The ripple effect is palpable.
In this week’s self-love quicky I share with you ten of my most favourite morning self-care rituals I love to embrace. I may not do all of them every day but they are most definitely a big part of my morning routine, even when my kids were young. I hope you get to try something new or step up your commitment to self-care. Now, more than ever we need to be committed to our health and appreciate how important it is to be fit and strong, physically, mentally and emotionally.

Meditate Stillness Great if busy mind Good for aging Lowers blood pressure Decreases tension & anxiety Increases serotonin – elevates mood Improves immune system Increases energy Increased creativity Develops intuition Expanded consciousness Balanced sharp mind Personal transformation and harmony
2. Be Grateful Seems cliché but the most important thing to do Be grateful for what you have not what you don’t have. Opens the door to more inspiring relationships Improves physical and mental health – more likely to care when grateful! Gratitude reduces and eliminates negative and toxic emotions Enhances empathy and reduces aggression Sleep better – Say 5 things you are grateful for before sleep too! Improves self-esteem and acknowledges others (stops jealousy, envy and inadequacy) Fosters resilience – there’s always something or someone worse.
3. Oil Pulling Ayeurvedic treatment Whitens and cleans teeth Fights inflammation Healthy gums Prevents bad breath Regulates hormone balance Add 2 drops of peppermint or spearmint to enhance the experience.
