Dr. Kahumbu is a Princeton-trained elephant ecologist who shares the vital importance of conserving wildlife in order to conserve the planet. Dr. Kahumbu explores how she continues to learn from the elephants and the important role they play in engineering our African landscapes. Lilly and Paula discuss how advocacy has helped connect the dots between science and conservation through campaigns such as WildlifeDirect's "Hands Off Our Elephants," which made great strides toward protecting this incredible species from poaching. Dr. Kahumbu also talks about how she finds hope in the resilience of nature and the tenacious young people - and filmmakers - she is encountering across Africa.
