During challenging times it can be comforting to remember that a drop in motivation is not a personal failing unique to you:  every single human experiences setback in their life. Knowing how to get ourselves out of a hole and shift towards a more motivated mindset is the bedrock of resilience and wellness.  Keeping motivated on the bright, easy and flowing days is easy; its being able to bolster ourselves on the dark, difficult and stuck days that is an essential skill for this disruptive decade. It requires huge amounts of self-awareness and self-management but the benefit is we can free ourselves despite external events - the only person that owns your internal state is you. In this episode we share the lessons from the 2010 Chilean Mining Accident and how all 33 trapped miners kept themselves sane and safe during their 69 day entrapment 2,300ft below ground.  We make the link between the impact of ongoing disruption on motivation and morale -and share easy and practical tools to help yourself and others to keep focusing on the light at the end of the tunnel.
