Young women in pursuit of a higher education use their stripper earnings to pay for tuition. Stripping to pay for school may sound like a cliché to some, but it was the fastest and easiest way for Celeste to pay for her teaching credentials.
When Celeste moved to California, several courses didn’t transfer to get her California teaching credentials, and she had a full year of school ahead of her. What started out as a job interview as a cocktail waitress quickly turned into a lucrative way for her to pay for school. But not without its consequences. Decades later, there’s still a part of her that feels shame about it. But why should it be shameful? There are always groups of people and religious groups that will find pretty much anything wrong and sinful, but is it really? We explore the effect over the years and what sharing the secret and releasing the shame has brought about a huge breakthrough in her life.
