Episode description

How much should a brand new police officer in Seattle make?

It looks like the new starting salary of officers will be in the low six-figure range, thanks to a new union contract with the Seattle Police Officers Guild.

The new tentative contract also includes large retroactive raises for current officers, and some changes to accountability.

Publicola Editor and Publisher Erica C. Barnett is here to explain what’s in it, and what it says about Seattle’s relationship with its police force.
