Transcript Speaker 1: In every age, O Lord, you have been a refuge before the mountains were begotten, and the earth and the world were brought forth from everlasting to everlasting. You are God. Speaker 2: You are listening to Scripture for your inner outcasts. It's June 2nd, 2026, Tuesday of the ninth week in Ordinary Time. Today's guest is Lisa Barrett, a psychotherapist in private practice based in Sydney, Australia, and a member of Souls and Hearts Resilient Catholics community and the formation for Formators community. Speaker 1: Hello everyone. On today, Tuesday the 2nd of June. Today's passage from the Psalms is a good message for our exiles as it highlights that God is our refuge across time and through every age, throughout lives in history, including our lives, our times, and our ages. He is the refuge, the constant shelter, protection and place of safety available for us. In every age, O Lord, you have been our refuge. Before the mountains were begotten, and the earth and the world were brought forth from everlasting to everlasting, you are God. I know how my exile parts yearned for protection and safety, and there is comfort to hear that he is always here for us, everlasting and always. Not just in good times or bad. Not just in crisis or in peace. Not just when we are young or when we are old, or before birth or after death, but always. So this is a message for your exile parts, and I'll speak directly to them now, if that's okay. God is with you. An everlasting presence. So no matter how abandoned, filled with shame or fear or hurt that you may be, he has never and will never leave your side. Speaker 1: God sees your courage and curiosity, your vulnerability and patience, your fear and uncertainty. And he wants you to feel the confidence that comes with feeling loved and secure. He has been there with you the whole time. He watches and loves your uniqueness. What others may call in disapproving tones your neediness. He loves your desire for affection and for closeness at every age and stage of your journey in life, even before you knew you. He held tenderness and compassion for you. He holds this for what you have lived through, how you have developed and been formed by the world around you to behave. He sees at the first sniff and to protect you, he sees how nature and nurture have shaped you and your beliefs. His loving protection of you doesn't waver. It is everlasting. Even when you are passed over by others, you feel abandoned and lost. He holds a forever place in his heart for you. He sees your yearning and he loves you all the more for it. He wants you to call on his everlasting love and protection. Speaker 2: In the description of today's episode, you'll find an excellent article about having faith in God's providence. Thanks for joining us and we hope to see you again tomorrow. Speaker 1: Mary and tire of knots, pray for us. Saint Joseph, pray for us. Saint John the Baptist pray for us.
