Episode description

It's Christmas Eve and we're thrusted into the ever-familiar Christmas story in the Gospel of Luke. All the world should be registered. Mary's firstborn son wrapped in bands of cloth, laid in a manger. No room in the inn. Shepherds living in the fields when an angel appeared.

Dr. Chris Croghan explains to Adam, Kiri, and Mason why it's so important to hear this text every year, why God uses everyday, non-religious people to accomplish His will, and the emphasis on the words TO YOU when the angel says, "to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is the Messiah, the Lord."

Adam, Kiri, and Mason ask:

  • Why does God give this message to the shepherds?
  • Why was this such a trial for Mary?
  • What should we pay attention to in what the angel said?
