What's going on? Ladies and gents Roberts? Thanks. Kiddo Savage.com. And today I have special guests, Heather Perillo on the line Heather is a bona, fide badass. And that is the hundred percent straight up truth. She just spent the weekend in California at the kakora event, which is basically civilian Navy, SEAL training. So like all the rigors that the Navy Seals go through during hell week. And that really intense dread that you've seen all the movies.
That's what she was doing, as a civilian. And this past weekend and we Dove super deep into what motivated her to do that, at 45, 46 years old on the list. So very, very impressive on all fronts and this became a mindset conversation. Like what makes us tick? What causes us to be introspective, dive deep, and who we are? What we stand for, and where we're called to excel in life and how to have the confidence and the discipline and the motivation.
And the intensity To pursue that, you know, with all that it takes until the the goal has been met until you're able and beyond that. Actually, there's no Finish Lines, but what it takes internally to strive for something so hard that you are able to figure out who you are at its core at your core. And then with that, take that going forward into every aspect of your life and truly reach your life's potential. I got goosebumps listen to her conversation. And she's speaking the truth.
She's living it day to day and she's an inspiration to myself. And I'm have no doubt. This conversation will be an inspiration to many others. I always said, relax, but don't relax, get tuned in, get invigorated and get ready to rumble with Heather Perillo. Laughs, how are you? I am great. How are you today? I'm doing wonderful. I'm excited to talk to you, cause I feel like this is gonna be a deep dive in mindset and resilience. And I'm always excited, talk about that.
That is exactly what this is all about. Absolutely. So, just kind of give the audience a little context here. This is the first time we've ever spoken. We've correspond a via email. I wrote a newsletter a couple weeks back.
And in my newsletter is a quote and in that particular, newsletter the quote was, you are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream by Les Brown and you responded to that email saying that quote inspired you and you kind of went into detail about what you're doing right now and why that's, you know, touch you as it did. So I kind of just dive into your journey. You want to just kind of give us some back story here. Yeah for sure. Absolutely.
So it is who I am, right? I believe that it is never too late to live the life you love in pursuit of what you are called on this Earth to do. And when that came across is I was at the very end of my training for something called kokoro. Kokoro is a 50-hour Navy SEAL simulated, hell week that is put on by the SEAL Fit organization in California and the age of 45 I signed up.
I was, I knew that it was the time for me to tap into my full potential and do whatever, whatever, whatever was required, so that I could serve my purpose powerfully. And when I was looking for a way, Way to do that on the physical front. I had been in leadership development for years. I was fascinated with the elite teams of the Navy Seals and also really, really looking into flow. Like what does that look like for a human being to be able to tap into flow at any time?
And what does it look like for a team? And I think, because I was looking at that, when the time came for me to pursue this next Impossible Dream, My specifically, especially where I was physically when I did a search for extreme physical challenges, what popped up was this event called? Kokoro? And I knew the event that I was going to participate in, I had to be better off on the other side. So I was looking for something that was going to challenge.
Challenge me. Mentally spiritually and emotionally, right? Because anybody can Run, you know non-stop, but what does it look like to really have to do all of the training and inner work on the inside to be able to do what is ever required on the outside to perform? And so without knowing too much, I simply signed up and that's when it began the journey began. So I gave myself a year to train for this event. At that point in March of 2020. I was 40 pounds heavier. I had never run a mile, I
couldn't do a push-up. I couldn't do a pull-up like I was starting at zero and yet for some reason, the little girl inside of me signed up for the most challenging physical event in the world for civilians, and I and I simply got to work. So, where were you at like a point at, you know, when this all started to where you just like really frustrated with where you at? We're not adding life. Was like this. Aha moment of like I'm not liking who I'm seeing in the mirror.
I need to change something and a drastic with it. No, so here's what it was. So, I've been in leadership development for over a decade. I was in the fitness industry 15 years ago, and when I went into leadership development, one thing that you know, maintained, but certainly not Not at a level that I knew I was capable of was always like there for me. I knew there was more. I knew there was more in the summer of 2018. I took over a company as CEO and
I transform that company. I implemented every single leadership development tool tactic program, anything that I had ever learned I transform that company, but what was missing right? The sacrifice to Health. And as I go around the world and I leave these leadership conferences and facilitate. That is. The one thing that's always seems to be missing is that we let ourselves go thinking. That the sacrifice is in service to the people that we lead our families and communities and it
is the exact opposite. The first place, you have to look to be the leader that you're capable of being is the Physical Realm, right? And so I did what was necessary to transform the company, so it's old and then I thought,
okay. I've done every, I've led the way in business and now I'm going to show what is possible with the human being if you apply the same tools of mindset and Leadership for yourself, and I'm going to show the world that even at this age, in this condition I can compete with people that are half my age and so that's where it was. I always knew there was More to tap into and unless I had that massive impossible goal. I never did. There's a lot of different areas.
I want to dive into your first. I think the, the concept of choosing a goal that is seemingly insurmountable at the onset. Is so incredibly key. So many people they just go for, you know, things that they can easily reach things that are not far without their outside their
grasp at all. And I feel like when you do that this there's the subconscious thing that happens and it just forces you to. You know, kind of half-ass the day-to-day actions necessary to reach that goal because, you know, it's not a true stretch goal, but I feel like, you know, you just you knew that at the onset and you just like what I have hell not gonna do that this time.
So you just went all in. Yeah, so you reach for the biggest gold possible and if you don't make it, you are still so much further ahead. But if it's not like huge you you don't go all in. Like there was this exactly like what you said like, I knew I had to give everything. Like I couldn't compromise in any area. Like, I couldn't compromise and nutrition. I couldn't compromise and training.
It had to be fully integrated. I had to dig so deep to do, what was required to go from, not being able to run a mile to running 200 miles a month to not being able to make it an hour to be able to train for and five hours a day, but if I'd only signed up for Or you know a marathon I wouldn't have gotten that. Right? So go all-in. So at least you know, when you give it your all you can absolutely say, okay, here's where I'm at. And that's exactly what I did.
And wow, I mean the transformation from March of 2020 to where I am now where I can knock out, six hundred push-ups an hour, 100 50 pull-ups. Like I said, I run Non-Stop. Learn to swim. I mean I had to learn to do everything from zero to a standard that most people would ever dream of and not only the standard but I was committed to smoking the standard. I was not okay with just reaching it.
Like I knew that I had to reach the standard not at my best, but what I found out, you know, 12 hours in after ice baths and just grueling PT. I still had to surpass, you know, these These standards. So it was it was so incredible to train with that mindset. Like excellent, absolute Relentless pursuit of excellence. And if I could add one more thing to this is endless like that was my thing. I was not going to go in this journey without enjoying and being so grateful.
Every single moment along the way that I was actually able every single day to Up and keep doing what I was doing. It was it was such an amazing journey that right there.
What you said the end is so important that I don't want to brush past because I feel like, you know, people do hard shit a lot and I feel like people just appreciate the hardness of it and they kind of gloss over the fact that in order to really sustain that at a high level, you have to, you have to, you have to be like truly at peace with it and not just a piece.
With it, but like yearn for it and whenever I'm doing a competition prep, for instance, like there's time, especially towards the tail end of a prepper. I'm you know, hungry. I'm I'm just miserable, you know, the training sucks. The the, you know, appetite sucks. It all just sucks. But at the end of the day, like having done it all to the T flawlessly, I take like this shower. I'm just sitting there in the shower.
I'm just like, going over the day's events and I'm able to just smile and be at peace and at Bliss with it. Like you're saying because He he's like appreciate that moment and there's no other way to do it. And then, just to give yourself that time and soak it in and relish in the moment, even though it sucks. Yeah, you know, that was it, you know, I would, when I was in the fitness industry and I would watch people competing counting down the days until they were done.
I am counting down the minutes until I get to jump back in that gym. Like, there's no rebound. Like I have never been happier or healthier. We just going through 26 hours of what like maybe point five percent of like the population might even understand what I just went through and I am sitting here. So profoundly grateful for my health because I did everything right and I can't wait to get back into it. So people like, what are you going to eat?
How will, you know, I'm like, I'm going right back to feeling my body. Exactly. How it's meant to be filled because I feel Live. This was never a journey in order to get somewhere. This was a journey of learning how to listen to what my heart was yearning for what my body was yearning for to be able to perform to be able to recover, so that I could be ready to serve no matter who that was or where that was. And I think so often when people are competing because I got
asked so often. Are you competing? Are you competing? Eating. And the answer was like, yes, for life for life. And like, how do you train every day for five hours? I said, because I wake up every day and I smile and I'm so grateful that I get to do this especially in the context with SEAL Fit knowing that so many of the people who involved, you know, they're mostly Navy Seals, but special ops I have arms. I have legs, like I get emotional like, I'm home.
I get to do this, right? And every single day, right? There was no inner constraints, any longer that could stop me from living Fuller. There are never external constraints that can stop you from being grateful for this life. You have and giving your hundred percent, no matter what. It looks like giving your hundred percent and again, like I use this blessing called cacao. Were 0 and then, and I'm beautiful mind and seal fit as my platform.
It was the greatest gift that ever cross my path. Because it gave me all the tools, all the training, the community of support everyone believes, you can do it, right? And when others believe you can do it, you believe it. There was no one who ever doubted me. Even though people in my life. Are you crazy? Like, what were you? Wait? What why? Why I think because I have to show everyone. It's possible.
Anything is possible. And so often people go through inner Journeys and nobody knows the actual manifestation and I for whatever reason was chosen to be the one who could go through the inner work and have this incredible physical manifestation that no one could doubt the work. It took. Internally and externally to be able to step foot on that grinder, two days ago and like be so strong and so grateful and so happy and enjoy every minute of it. Right?
And it's just part of the journey because I didn't complete after 26 hours of PT, which is ice baths. It was 40 degrees. It. Was windy. We were chilled to the Bone. We were running. We were push-ups. We were low crawling through the gravel through this. And there were Sirens, you know, there were houses in our faces people screaming at us hour after hour after hour, and then we go into our physical standards test and then there's more grueling PT. We're caring people on
stretchers. And then in the 12th hour, when you think you can't, you're like, Here we go. Then we have to do Murph soaking wet, right? But because we know what mer stands for. You get up there and you do your 100 pull-ups and you do your three hundred squats and you do your 200 push-ups and you run like the your source with energy. That is so beyond you, and you do it and then you get into the night, Rock for 12 hours rucking. You know, with this team. I that point five of the 10 and
fall. On off. And I was there with my brothers and they're made it through the night, and it was the most incredible experience. It was cold. It was raining. They're concerned about hypothermia. And we're, you know, in our formations and learning about all of the different tactics used by our military and you see the sunrise in the morning, right? And so, I just kept going and going and felt so strong and in the 26-hour as He began again in the ice bath, it, it had an
impact, right? And so there was this one income uncon, uncontrollable factor that I could not train for is how my body would respond with that level of cold and my muscle seized up. Right? And I swore that they would have to pull me out on a stretcher, that it was only because my body would not perform anymore and could not move. And that's what happened. Absolutely heartbreaking and and yet I'm sitting here smiling today because all that means is that there is a defining moment
for me as with everyone. These are the moments. They either break your make you stronger and who? Yeah, I am like sitting here today with the plan in place. My plane ticket is booked for July 16th, because I will be back on the grinder and I will Do it again. There is nothing that will stop me from completing. This 50 is actually a 55 our event because I was so strong still, but the cold got me and mother. Nature is something that is a force to be reckoned with it.
Can fuel, you like no other, and it is also powerful and you can't, I could my body was not ready to keep going. So I'm getting Goosebumps. Right now, I wish we were doing this recording like in person with like video and not audio because like just hearing you talk. There's few people that I've talked with where it's like, you can just sense the excitement and not even not even just excitement. But just like inner working of
self and self awareness. I like a whole nother deep level that most people quite honestly, don't even really tap into and can appreciate, but like, I can hear it in your voice right now and I feel like, I mean, this this happened. This past weekend. I this is fresh on your mind right now. Yeah, I was less than yeah. So Saturday from sorry, Friday morning at 8:00 a.m.
Is when I hit Veil Lake in California and on Saturday at 11 is when I was dropped by medic because I could no longer my the whole, every muscle in my face and jaw locked up and the hip flexors because at that point, you know, we'd already gone through 26 hours of Extreme physical, whatever training, they completely locked up. And man. I was trying to do anything and they actually had to lift me into a truck to try to get me to warm up.
The moment. I felt the shaking and convulsing, go away got back out of that truck and and was like, trying to Squad. And I was moving, but then there's also something called team. and, When you can't perform for your team, you cannot hold them back, right? And so again, when I walked over to the last ten that were remaining, and I had to look at them and say, my heart is here.
My spirit is here. My shoulders are here for long PT, but my body will not allow me to continue to support you, you know, and it was again, heartbreak. Because I wanted to be there and look into their eyes and insecure that that a kokoro with them that was hard. And here's another thing, which is so different from the competition that I was used to or really my whole life. I lead teams very successful teams.
But so often when you're at the top, you are alone with this event and The whole training process in my coaches through the program. I have never ever experienced team and one of the first lessons I ever heard was Heather, if you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far. It's called team. And for the first time in my life. I have experienced what team can do when it comes to Performance and potential. Not only for the self, but for the family, the organization, the community.
So through this process. I'll share with you who I am and I in this is the core. Like, you have to know who you are and why you are doing what you're doing. Why's you can't train like this? You can't go through invent events like that without just it being hard. This is a joy for me. So Robert who I am is an inspirational, worldcentric Warrior leader. That is committed to Awakening empowering and unleashing the warrior spirit in every human being.
So they can serve their calling in this world too. And so when you hear that in me, I know it is in every single human being and how blessed in my that I have been on this journey for so long that I know who I am. And the value, I bring to this world. And I'm so lucky that for whatever reason, this is the platform I get to do it but I will find a way to use this life and this journey to inspire others. So they can feel this alive and grateful for every single breath
they have. That is a beautiful statement. That is literally like, verbatim almost what I said to myself, when I struck out to create a brand and a business around, like this whole live savage philosophy because I feel like
I've said this countless times. And mean, you basically said the same thing is that we all are born with this innate, you know, potential in our lives, in our, in our abilities, but few people harness that I don't know why a few people harness it, but once you have once you've tasted it once, you've done it and you've lived Did and you have that self-awareness that that you recognize that anything that you set your mind, to is like truly
possible. It just takes a shit ton of hard unrelenting work to reach it. But once you do, it's like the most empowering, you know, thought-provoking fulfilling thing anybody could ever accomplish. And you just feel compelled to inspire others, to tap into their own self, to achieve an experience, and be a part of that same sensation. Ation, because it is truly the most rewarding thing in the world. 100%.
I mean, that's why I it my life is dedicated to coaching and it's just that I can I can see the potential and everyone and he's at a few things in that. Your last statement is that potential is in every human being it is Limitless. If you are willing to do the work and the work is inner work, it is Work. And that is the emotional, the mental, and the spiritual work is what is required. And when you can remove all of those internal constraints,
right? Really between your two ears that prevents you from living fully, you are free and the experience of being free. Once you taste that If it doesn't move you to share that and find a way to share that with other so that they can experience living life. Optimally, right? We, I mean, I don't know anyone who's experienced who immediately doesn't then. Think how can I share with this with others? How can I have them? Real Lies?
What I've realized, right? It's that Awakening and it looks different. A lot of people everyone is on their journey and it is sad that there are so many that live their whole lives and never realize what's missing. If ever, someone thinks that happiness satisfaction comes from anything external, they have missed the whole point of this life because it is always been when you need nothing. But to sit in silence and breathe and feel nothing but
love for yourself. First and foremost, and be able to have that same Connection in love with every other human being who like hooyah it is, it's amazing and it's profound. And I'm so fortunate to be involved with unbeatable mind and community of men and women who get it. And it is only about inspiring 100 million other lives through our coaching and our programs to make sure that everyone gets a
taste of this. Because when you do, and everyone realize we are connected, the world becomes a better place for everyone, I wholeheartedly agree with you on there. And you said something earlier, it was very profound as well. And that was that, you know, you've already signed up to do this again in July. And, you know, a lot of like mainstream. Society, like they asked you these questions. Like, you know, how are you going to relax now?
What's going to be your your, you know, unwind protocol? What are you going to eat? Now? What how are you going to like? Not trying for a while, and just enjoy that, there is no Finish Line in life. And that holds true, whether you cross that line on a marathon with you do a competition prep, whether you get though, kakora, whether you do the Navy Seals. I mean, no matter what it is in life. There should never be this view that there is just this fine night.
Point at which it stops, there is no Finish Line. It's a journey, right? That, I mean, you hear all the time. There is no there there. It's a journey. It's constantly unfolding. These are just stare for defining moments. Right? And I'm not committed to even how it unfolds. But if we know, right? We're showing up 100% every day. Why would you ever want to take your foot off the gas like, this is what we call fully living. If you're looking for an out constantly.
Trying to get to the weekend, trying to get to the caishen like something's missing. Right? Like I can't wait to get to the weekend because that means I have more time to train, you know, like I can't wait to go on vacation because you know, not to escape anything, but I get to experience something different. And it it's so true. Like people are missing the point of life if they think there's something other than right now. How are you experiencing life right now?
You know? And yes, we all aspire to these other goals in the future. Awesome, but being content means, yes, I am living fully now knowing I always have this additional potential to tap into to grow and develop, right? But there is no end to self-mastery ever ever the day. I stop learning the The day I stopped raining in the different aspects of my life is the day I'm dead, right? And so like what a joy to know that. There's no end. But you said this is not a
destination. It's a journey when I moved to Florida, which is a whole different story. Three years ago. I took my children, I went home and I told my children, we are going on vacation. I never went back to Texas and I just said, you know, vacation is not a destination. It's a lifestyle and if we're not living every single day, like we're on vacation at the beach, then I missing. The whole point.
So how cool, right? How cool that we get this and that we have the capacity and the desire and drive to share it with others. Yeah, totally agree. And you you get it like you. I can tell having never talked to you before that. You have the perspective to truly get it. Like you're not some random self-help book that dish, you know spits out, you know buzzwords like you. You're actually speaking.
Living your truth. So on that note, you know, people listen to this like, like what are some actionable steps and takeaways that they can get? First of all, this is start at the very beginning. Like people, if we both agree that people have this innate ability that is is just in them internally. They can tap into and become something Grand. Why do you think so few people do? I mean because it sounds like you were a hustler. You were a go-getter.
You were, you were kicking butt and taking names before you ever signed up for this. You know, but there's I'm assuming there's there's periods in your life where there's ebb and flow. I mean, energy and interest is cyclical. So you have to kind of just run with it when it's there, but like for people that just don't ever seem to run with it. What do you think that is like, what's causing that? Why do people not have this?
So I love that. You said that I'm not just some self-help book and I think There is a huge issue with all of this Theory, right? You can go into Barnes & Noble, you can go to any college campus and you can take all of these different courses on development and Leadership. It's all Theory, right? It, what's the, what's next, right? I want, how do I actually take all of this brilliant stuff? That's written, or spoken, and
actually apply it to my life. And there are So few who actually are living it who are not just talking about leadership, but leaving who aren't just talking about health and wellness, but really have an integrated life that is Health and Wellness in their relationships and their finances and everything. And so when people are looking for Role Models, let's say as to like, What is the, what is the way? Okay, let me let me take a step
back. Because I was someone who was always willing, I would always say, just show me how especially when it came to health and wellness. Just tell me how I'll do anything. Just tell me how and what happened at attempt after attempt years, after years was a lot of, I would be hopeful and then disappointed, right? Like there was, there were All of these different plans that nothing seemed to work or nobody could tell me how to do what I wanted to do.
And so finding the, the program was never in a book. It was never in someone else. It was in me. We aren't taught to listen to ourselves. We aren't taught to do the inquiry and the questioning we are Conditioned to believe and think certain things, we have these ideas judgments assumptions, preconceived notions of how things should be, right? Our whole educational system. Everything is go to school. Get the job. We're labeled, we have these egos. We have these identities, right?
We're not free to even think that we can be more than how we wound up being. So until Get between your ears and start really asking the questions of Who Am I, who am I, what am I called to do? Right, and what's stopping me inside from doing that? And there are very, very specific tools to do that. Right? And it's really simple. You starp start eliminating. Everything you learn how to breathe properly. You learn how to meditate, you learn how to properly nourish
your body. You spend time in nature and silence, you start surrounding yourself with people who are asking the same questions, who are doing the work, who are leading by example, whose lives are the wives that you would dream of. And you start asking, what are they doing? What are they thinking? What are they telling themselves right, and then you just start being that. So, when at the age of 45 in my mind who I wanted to be, or the Navy SEAL, and I just started
asking myself. What do they do? What do they know that? I don't know. How do they train? How do they fuel right? How do they work as teams? And then you start being the way they are? Like what? Are those values that drive them right then you start doing okay. What do they actually do every single day and then all of a sudden you become that, there's no text book. That tells you how to do that. There is no one way, right? There's no one diet, you know this right?
Every single training program is going to be different, every single nutritional program is going to be different. It has to be every single Cell in our bodies is different. Our epigenetics are different. Our microbiomes are different. Our every single year we lived is different but every individual has got to be willing to do the work inside and not rely on just a book, right? Or some new trend and that's why I was so turned on by your products.
I have to tell you this because When it comes to nutrition, I always said, God, if we could just make it easier for people, right? I don't care what I eat. I care that it properly nourishes, my program, based on what I am trying to achieve. And that it fuels me, right? And when I found your bricks, I was like, oh my God, this is amazing. Like, take away all of the noise in my head of what I should eat. No, no, give me a bar. Give me a bar. Let me cut it up into three.
Pieces, I know exactly what I need to eat to be able to train properly. Right? So that's like one element and then depending on what your training. What is it that you need? Not with that? Other person needs is the key to great. Here's the product. Is it paleo? Let me find the best in the
business when it comes to paleo. Like, I don't care what it is, but there aren't enough, people who are willing to do the inner work to figure out the their own personal path, and I hope that didn't just Go all over the place because it felt like I did it did. But, no, I think you hit the
nail on the head. I mean, the, the inner work like, like, I've really, I mean, I've spoken about self-awareness a lot on on this episode and others, but I, I mean, all of the success I've ever had in life, has stemmed from a really clear understanding of who I am. And before I figured out who I was, I was just floundering around in the dark without any Rhyme or Reason, but once I figured out who I was every day.
Asian I made thereafter was built on that foundation and then I started getting some momentum and everything compounds on self. I feel like you know, it's easy to say, figure out who you are. It's harder to actually put it into action, but I shouldn't have to be harder because I feel like people just get so convoluted with all the noise
that's out there. So on that topic when, when you think of social media for instance, do you have a positive or A negative, you know, opinion of Like when it comes to figuring out who you are, is that a good thing or a bad thing? Yeah. So social media. Everything has a good and bad
part, right? So, oh my gosh, you know, you get the right voice out, their social media is our gift, like the fact that, you know, I could be on social media and share a positive message that, you know, ten years ago. I'd have to go from conference to conference and Conference. I can reach a million people who young like how, Incredible, but unfortunately. The people who have messages that are toxic, right? And disempowering are also have access to that forum. And so it's just unfortunate.
So how do we turn the tide right to, to use artificial intelligence, use social media as our tool, to transform the culture of our country and this world, it is possible. It just has to be in the right hands. It is if it's in the hands of those who are swayed by money or politics or whatever, you know, yeah, it's going to have a detrimental effect and we've seen that but it doesn't have to be that way you get into the right hands with the right messaging and it is our greatest asset.
Absolutely. I totally totally agree. I feel like, you know, people spend so much time consuming content and Very little time creating content, but the people that are creating content. Those are the ones that know who they are. For the most part, the people that are consuming. It's are the ones that are kind of lost. They just get stuck mindlessly scrolling down their Instagram feed for hours on end. And when you're doing that you're gonna have a much harder
time figuring out who you are. So like it's a worthwhile thing to, you know, put your blinders on and remove that distraction until you know what your purpose is. And then when you know that you're going to be too busy creating To consume in the first place. Yeah. Yeah, you know, one thing I do want to go back to when it when it comes to your purpose and your passion and your principles and really being able to be clear of who you are and what you are to bring to this world.
That too is a journey. It is not easy. And Through the Years, like, you just keep iterating. It's it never change like the general theme of who you are. Remains the Same. But how it's manifested continually evolves, right? So I definitely don't want anyone to think that it's an easy process or that they should know. No, we are all every single day, you know, waking up and evaluating.
Okay, are these? My passions are these, the principles and values and which I'm committed to living my life. Is this, my purpose? And then when you have that every single day, all there is to do is to Look at what you're doing and say is this in line with those three things. And when the answer is, yes, you go, right.
There's no question. So knowing your purpose and who you are your guardrails on that Journey, you know, and you sway back and forth, but they always are like the container that keep you so focused on going forward that you have no option but to keep moving forward, but again, it's not like it's a win like
you said, you use the word fly. Failing, all of us do that unless we're intentional every single day like you don't you that's a non-negotiable every single day, clear of what you're doing, who you're going to be that day, every single evening. Did I do? What I say I was going to do. Did I show up how I wanted to show up? Was the intention of the day, Matt? If not, okay, great. What am I going to do
differently tomorrow? And it's the same routine, every Single day that has those who are committed to Excellence and high performance performing. We never let our foot off the gas. You cannot alike. And once I realized that that, that was not something to be said like if I'm like, oh I shouldn't have to have these structures. I shouldn't have to have structures of accountability know who. Yeah, you put everything into place in your day to make sure. Success is inevitable. Right?
And so there's, there's no there's no easy way. There's, there's no such thing as easy. It's hard work and, and oh my gosh, we get to sit back at the end of every day. Every week, every month, every year, and say, I did the work, and you get to just Relish in the fact that no matter what the result is. You know, you gave your all and there's just lessons to be learned and continual Improvement and you know, that with competing, there's so much that's out of your control.
But, you know, you know what you're up to, you know, if you did it, but without all of those plans and prepping, there's no way you're going to keep moving forward. And I know you've heard this before, those who fail to prep plan to fail, right? It's like, there's no other way a constant preparation. Shannon and planning and intention in each day right for our lives.
Yeah, and when you do that like when you set your entire life structure up around this like symbiotic relationship with everything that you're involved in. So that everything benefits the whole it's like that becomes your new norm and it's not even exhausting to do it anymore. Like I train everyday a nail, my nutrition every day. And it's not like I'm doing something hard. It's just part of the day. It's as simple. Well, as brushing my teeth, you know, it's just it's just the
normal. And when you doing that, the compounding effect of that over time is is far far greater like, so for you, you know, this this weekend, decorum like that was brutally intense, like you would not be able to sustain that every single day 365 until the day you die. Like that would be that you would be able to sustain that.
However, the systems that you built in place to get you to a point where you can go all out for that, finite period of time you make those systems in place, sustainable. And those compound and those scale and then you just keep getting better and better. Yeah, absolutely. I love that you said that so yeah, that event. So over the past 12 years. I will be the twin. So when I go back in July, I will be the 20th woman to secure that. I mean, that's the level around
the world. 19 women have ever secured, kokoro, and very few. Others have even, you know, attempt to to To get on the grinder and it was my belief that the training just takes over, right? You have to be willing to admit to that process every single day and the training takes over when you're called to perform and I love to that you said like it's not a grind every day when you know what you're committed to, it's not exhausting either because there is nothing in my
schedule. That isn't it. In direct alignment with what I'm committed to right. And so it's a joy, you know, if you're someone who's a trainer or a coach, you look at your schedule and your like, I love this person. I love this person. I love this person. Can't wait to go to that seminar. There. There is nothing on there that ever has you say. Oh, right, because in our world, the rule is, it's either a hell.
Yes, or to hell. No, so you get really clear on eliminating the Oy's, like, that's the external noise, right? Eliminate. They'll know, the noise say, no, you say no. And you get to say, yes, right to your full potential because all of your energy, all of your resources, everything is only focused on and committed to and spent in those things that are going to further your purpose. Totally agree.
Now, let me ask you this. On the other hand, the Spectrum after you've, you know, reach this, you know, very very Solid level of success, you know who you are. You have the self-awareness. You feel not necessarily satisfied but content in life for sure. You feel like you're making a difference every single day because the system's you put into place you're making an impact on other people's lives and everything single day, compounds on the day before. What do you consider to be
enough? Like, what is the word enough? May not. Again, not necessarily satisfied, but, like, content and having enough so, that you're not constantly. He's reaching in an unhealthy manner. How do you how do you trade the waters? It's so great because that's a question that's been asked to me like my entire life. When is it ever going to be enough? And so know that when it comes to accumulation of external materialistic things, I could care less.
I don't need anything. My goal is always to eliminate anything homes cars. Anything that String me from just being on the Move. I'd rather have calluses then diamonds. I'm to know like give me a pair of sneakers. I don't need, I don't need anything materialistic when it comes to enough when it when you're serving your purpose and impacting lives. There's there's no end to that. So I just get to show up fully and when you're constantly looking for.
Mastery. There's always more but it's not like there's nothing missing in my life. There's no, there's no. Oh, I can't wait until in order to feel a certain way. I hope that makes sense. Right? Like it's like I have all the visualizations of these future mean. He's right. What is going to look like then then then but this is just a journey. It's just so Joy. Full. So the word enough I could say that if I die today. I would be smiling. Hmm. So I do. I have enough.
Yeah, and is there more to do and give? Yeah, are there more lives to reach? Hell? Yeah, Ah, that's all there is to it. I love, I love that. You put it that way. I feel like if you use that as a gate, like if you can literally say that I could die today and be smiling and and know that I didn't hold back in. There is no regret. Having that be the the proxy from which you measure enough. I feel like that is probably the best definition. I've heard of it. Yeah. Yeah, right.
So that content content at peace often hear. You know, what do I say to myself when I'm by myself? And again, if you can just say, I'm so proud of you. I love you. You're doing it, right? You are. You are going to To someday die. And the only thing that's going to be said to you, write whatever Source you believe in is, you know, you exceeded my expectations. You live this life as intended and then some, you know, like that's a powerful exercise.
I've done that where I've written my own obituary, you know, and when you have to do not have to when you choose to do that, type of inner work, you learn a lot about yourself and the first sentence is Heather died at the age of 101 because 100 was never good enough, right? There's always one more. I did a burpee challenge for Veterans Day and you know, it was like how many are going to do? I was like, I don't know. I don't even like doing 10. I'll just say I'll do 1,000
right? Yeah. My first go at it. I did 1001. Right? There's always the more and that's another thing with tapping into your potential there. Always more. That's why I love this core. Oh, you think you can't give more? There's always one more step. There's always one more wrap. There's always one more breath. It's just like and you're like, wow. Wow, this is unreal. That is that is super cool from like a psychological physiological biological
standpoint. Like when you really starts, you know, going Way Beyond what you think? Think you're capable of so much. So to the point where you're like, just honestly impressed with what the human body and mind is capable of, that's when it's like, that's when it gets exciting because then there's like, okay, I have exceeded what I thought was possible and it just totally takes your self perceived notion of your cap and throws it out the window.
And now you're left with this Limitless potential that you're just excited to Wrangle and tap into Yeah, and here's the thing. You have to believe it though, right? And unless you push yourself. You never really know what's possible. But when you start getting all of these different experiences, you're just like, oh my gosh.
Oh my gosh, I'll give you this other example, so, I recently during this training process, how to do an assessment to be able to actually step foot on the grinder and it was a week-long of assessment of rocking in for your audience that Not know. What a wreck is, you know, you got a backpack filled with 35 pounds of sand and you're running and you're uphill and you're just, you're doing all these different, you know, crazy things with with the wreck.
8-mile Rex six-mile, rocks, running rocks, time drugs, and you're running, and you're doing all the lifting and you're doing the push-ups, the pull-ups, the swimming and whatnot, and it was
the final day. And I was hurting again, like I'm 45 years old and this is nothing that I've done before, you know, it's been 15 years since I just did standard lifting weights and whatnot, final day and I had to do a timed 6-mile run and I had just finished a 4-mile heavy Rock and I started and it was the one of the very few times in my training, I stopped. I never stopped.
I always complete because I know that experience myself when I complete, so I went to work finished up my coaching calls and I knew I had to go back out and do this time to rock our this time run. And so, I went out, it was for him. It was raining. I was hurting, I went to that track and this mama Ray, and ran, and ran, and use my breathing techniques, and use my visualization and I sourced it. I pr like I never BR before, and that's when I knew like, huh, like this, the human spirit is,
the fuel. That will make this body perform. If you take care of it, if you give it, what it needs traditionally emotionally or spiritually, it will do the unimaginable and II finished that six. I'll run, and I got to my knees and I cried, and I got up and I danced in the rain and I was like this life is amazing. So, it was so cool, but you don't know, right? How could you possibly know that's possible unless you put yourself in front of a challenge. That is so outrageous.
You would never push yourself to do something like that. And again, people will look at me and be like, why are you doing this? And I, at this point, like, Because I can because I can, and I know I can, you know, so what's next. I don't know. But I'm going to find something that's in me that I didn't even know it was there and hopefully along the way and Inspire someone else to just look, just look to see what might be in
there. And if it just means that you're someone who starts walking, if you're someone who starts just exploring with different. Nutrition. So that you can wake up day feeling alive that if you get off your medications because you don't need it because you have something called the right fuel on the right training program, right? It's just like, and that's just the tip. There's so much more.
But again, like, for whatever reason, I was given this physical form, this vessel, as a way to inspire others, through this journey and in doing vents like you again, you're not, you're not In those necessary, the exact physical things, every single day, but because you've done it, you've pushed yourself, you have the perspective to appreciate that every single day. So no matter what kind of chaos
the world throws at you. If you just allow yourself a moment, to reflect on the places that you've been mentally and emotionally and physically, it allows you to pull that out and harness that whenever you need to call upon it, and that's is where the power comes from. Because that you can, you can truly tap into every single day. There's a reason why so, many successful people are also committed to their physical being, right, you know, it the discipline drive and
determination. It takes to do what we do. Physically. Absolutely inevitably is going to transcend into every other aspect of your life. And you can then use that as a source to fuel you, in the business relationships, right? It will fuel. You leading your teams like You no longer have these limits of what's possible with business, what's possible with your impact? And it's just so cool that we get that, that we have this opportunity every day to go into
our gyms. Both our mind gems in our heads and those that are real and trained in a way that gives us the capacity to then apply it to every aspect of our life, but especially in business, especially in business. And honestly, like when you pick, The curtain back on business, like business from like the right perspective, the positive aspects but my opinion is not this Cutthroat, you know, entity. It's not like this Cutthroat game that a lot of people make it out to be.
It's all about the relationships and the networking. And if you, if you bring this type of intensity and passion that you have in this realm of your life, into those relationships and into that networking, then the people that you're building relationships with, can't not see it. When they see that spark in your eye, as you're talking about this stuff, it compels them to want to be involved with you and that turns into successful businesses. Yes. Yes, so I read your newsletter
yesterday and I was like, whoo. Yeah, right. Because first, as a leader of a company, you have to know, you know, the mission statement like what are you committed to, what are the values, right? And then you start bringing in people who also have to be a line. And with the mission, the vision and the values, right? When you have the right people, right? At the right, time in the right place with the shared vision and
are willing to do the work. You know, this anything is possible and the moment you have someone who is out of alignment with the purpose and the passion, the principles of the company. There's there, you've got to get rid of them. There's there's no, it's not about what, you know, it's not about what you can do is about aligning. The right people with a shared Vision, shared experiences and the relationship. Our lives are all about people people, people, people people.
So, you know that because, you know, you've hired the good ones and you've hired the bad ones and when they're aligned, you can train anything. Yeah. Yeah. That's what we call horizontal skills. Anyone can acquire horizontal skills, but getting that vertical, the emotional, you know, intelligence getting that aligned. That's, that's where the magic happens in teams and performance. We can go like, we can have a hold of the podcast on business right now.

having accomplished. You know, beyond 26, out of markers as failure, but it's not there. It just gives you, it gives you more perspective gives you more more content to write that story with and honestly, being able to write in your store that hey looked, first time. I didn't make it. I got hypothermia had to bow out after 26 hours, but came back and got it the second time. I that's a hell of a lot more of a badass story than just do it the first time. Yeah, I think so too.
And I will be the only woman who's back for a second time and I was like, I can't wait, you know, and This was shared with me before and and I know you've heard it. The man in the arena. Right by Theodore Roosevelt. It is not the critic, who counts, not the man who points out how strong the man stumbles, or where the doer Deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena whose face is marred by dust and
sweat and blood, right? Who strives valiantly who? Errors, who comes short again and again because there is no effort without error and shortcoming. But who does actually strive to do? The Deeds, who knows, great enthusiasms, the great devotions, who spends himself in a worthy?
Cause who at the best knows in the end, the Triumph of high achievement and who at the worst if he fails at least he fails while daring greatly so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid Souls, who neither know Victory nor defeat. So whoo-yah to to not secure. 56 and I will come back stronger.
