¶ Intro / Opening
How can a non-musician discuss the future of music from anything other than a consumer point of view?
¶ Sats and Sounds
These people make decisions for the bulk of us without consulting any of us Sales and distributions of our futures If this world were fair and right, they'd give up the car keys this very night Welcome everybody to Sats and Sounds, episode number 94 For May 19th, 2025, we continue the countdown to 100 It's really a count up to 100, isn't it?
I'm not doing like a 10-9-8 So 94, going up to 100, we'll see what happens When the magic 100 hits I suspect I'll still be doing the same thing We've got some fresh, freshly rendered bits out of the Doroful verse This is, let's see, under the banner of middle season
¶ Inside Out
This is Inside Out This world has set me up but I run away, I escape from it Already made up my mind, I ain't looking back, just keep on moving on and moving on Don't know what the future holds, I'm still fighting for control Giving it my all, my world is falling apart You're by my side, I'll work it out, you'll hold me up All my shame is gone, now holding back, there's no other name You break change, my soul arrives You set me free and changed me from the inside out
This world has blinded me, I've made my look away but I run away Already made up my mind, I ain't turning back, I'm just seeing everything is rolling down Don't know what the future holds, I'm still fighting for control Giving it my all, my world is falling apart You're by my side, I'll work it out, you'll hold me up All my shame is gone, now holding back, there's no other name You break change, my soul arrives You set me free and changed me from the inside out [Instrumental] [Instrumental]
[Instrumental]
Even if my world is falling apart You're by my side, I'll break it both, holding me up All my shame is gone, now holding back, there's no other name Even if my world is falling apart You're by my side, I'll break it both, you'll hold me up All my shame is gone, now holding back, there's no other name You break change, my soul arrives You set me free and changed me from the inside out That is a banger of a song!
¶ A thousand kisses
Inside Out, middle season, from the Dormful verse More freshly rendered bits, this is the 54 plates and A Thousand Kisses Precision of trust, a sad man with a smile, been walking on his own home Been clocking up the miles, thinking all the while We've got time on his side, please walk with me And I'll walk by your side, by your side I see and sense the pain you're feeling now I wanna get inside that pain, I'm breathing in somehow Did I say I love the wind, call out your name?
It spoke to me, fuck a play on wicked game I'm by your side Oh, I nearly died A thousand kisses of life, we made each life A common sense of pride, hypnotized A thousand kisses of life, I'm alive Oh, I see and sense the pain you're feeling now I wanna get inside that pain, if I can knock it out I wanna get inside that pain, if I can knock it out I wanna get inside that pain, if I can knock it out I wanna get inside that pain, if I can knock it out Did I say I love the wind, call out your name?
It spoke to me, fuck a play on wicked game Oh, I nearly died A thousand kisses of life, we made each life A common sense of pride, I'm alive A thousand kisses of life, I'm alive Each time I fall, a little bit harder I'm gonna fall, just a little bit louder I lost my mind, I'm out of my mind Oh, I nearly died A thousand kisses of life, breathing inside A common sense of pride, I'm alive A thousand kisses of life, I'm alive A thousand kisses of life, of life Of life, of life, of life
Of life, of life, of life Of life, of life, of life Of life, of life, of life Of life, of life, of life Of life, of life Of life I said of life I said of life Of life Next up, I got a band called Mass Wisteria and we're gonna be playing two tracks from them today.
¶ Same Old
This first one's called Same Old.
It's the same old shit now every day You've been driving all your friends You've been driving all your friends You've been driving all your friends You've been driving all your friends You've been driving all your friends You've been driving all your friends You've been driving all your friends You've been driving all your friends You've been driving all your friends away Running circles point to where's the plane Watching all those paper planes fly away See you change now
Don't hesitate now, it's too late It's the same old shit just yesterday On the way to work, ran into Wayne Set your whimpers up, can there be shame? Don't put friendship group in disarray See you change now Don't hesitate now I see you change now Don't hesitate, it's just too late You're just a stranger now Frustrated, cancel related After those scars, now you should still be hated Frustrated, it's not debated Your own is evil, what's too far in fray?
Woohoo, woohoo Woohoo, woohoo Woohoo, woohoo Woohoo, woohoo Woohoo, woohoo [Music] Alright, so I was listening to a podcast earlier this week called Windows Weekly.
¶ Sats and Sounds
It's one of the few tech podcasts I still listen to. And in there, Paul Thrott was talking about listening to some music on Spotify I guess. And I guess they were doing something like doing some kind of DJ thing on Spotify where they were talking over the songs. And he was talking about how when we were kids, when you would listen to the radio and you're trying to record a song and you get pissed off because you're trying to hit record when the song starts
but the DJ talks over the intro and he's like, "What is this? Why are they doing it now? It's 2025." And I'm like, "You know what? Now in 2025, to me it's totally fine because it's so easy to get the music now where before you couldn't just hit record. You can just go and stream it and not even have an account anywhere. So to hear the full song is not a big deal anymore. So you can kind of introduce this whole talking up the music again. And so I think he's kind of behind the times there.
I just thought I'd bring that up just for my own kicks. This is a value for value music podcast. That means you need to get a modern podcast app to participate. Go to modernpodcastapps.com. Pick one out. You can go to my website, satsandsounds.com where I've got links to a whole bunch of Castamatic, Fountain, Podcast Guru, Podverse, CurioCaster, Podfriend, and TrueFans.
And with these modern podcast apps, you fill up the wallet and you can stream Satoshi's Bitcoin micro payments while you listen and the wallet changes to the artist that's playing. So you can stream payments and payments go directly to them. 95% of everything on this show as the music is playing goes straight to the artist. You can also do something called sending a boost where you send a few extra sats for something you like or a song you like or whatever.
And you could do something called a boostagram. That's where you send a boost along with a message and some boostagrams we've got from the past week. And it's an all Randy Black show. I got 100 sats from Randy Black via Podcast Guru saying that ripcord on Fountain is Sarah Jade's husband, Tumbleweed. Okay, what's Tumbleweed? I understand ripcord.
100 sats from Randy Black via Podcast Guru during Laundry by Mookie says I like Mookie's music but I just can't get past this choice of words to be able to play him on Mountain Music Happy Hour. We need some clean music Mookie. Well that's why I like music on the internet. I can do whatever I want. Nobody to censor me. 10,000 sats. 10,000 sats. What the heck? From Randy Black via Podcast Guru during Clario by Freud.
He says sorry I missed the live show Kevin but this one was still as fantastic as always. Onward to 100. Thanks Randy. Oh my god. 10,000 sats. It's got to be a record for me. We're going to keep moving forward. The next track is by Patrick Mannion. I can never remember how to pronounce his name.
¶ Testaverde
Mannion, Mannion. This one's called Testaverde. Which is in the description he says it's sort of an ode to Vinny Testaverde. Sort of. ¶ The Whip
[music]
It's nice to hear somebody bringing back some 80s music. Or 80s sounding music. This is more freshly rendered bits by Fable. [music] This song is the whip and Audacity has crashed. Which is a good thing that I have two other recordings going at the same time. Belt and suspenders for podcasting folks. Wear them.
