SO EP:710 I Thought It Was The Farmer

You were at the conference, you were at the camp out. So it has been a long time coming, and I've been excited to have this conversation. I want to start in the same place that I start with everybody I have on the show, What in the world got you interested in the subject of bigfoot Sasquatch?

reports on it when I could. Then I ran into a YouTuber called Utah Sasquad Made Them Real and was watching his and many other content providers for the Bigfoot subject. I liked him, he was approachable and I learned it from him. I'm sure it was a widespread idea that you have in your area habitat, food supply and water, that you need to be looking around, that there's a pair chance that to get squot. That was my big aha moment game on. I started looking and started finding straff.

play really good for tracks. Other than there's a ton of cattails, so a lot of ground debris that would hide all tracks. But I figured anything that was eight hundred pounds or so walking around and relatively daped soil has to leave a tree. So I looked and I looked, and I found a big toe in soft dirt. I could not believe it. The only animal heavy enough to leave this and then it probably went down maybe three quarter inch, smaller than a maybe a fifty cent piece.

Pretty darn deery, but just the gorgeous big cow. And then there was compressions that would indicate where the four toes were, and I took measurements, studied those, and I determined that it was a fourteen by six inch track, but only the big toe was on the soil that was undeniable. Only other animal in this area that would have to

wait to do that would be a deer. We're reported to have some pig in the area, so colnd hoof, so you'd have sharpening gents for that, and we have no animal that could have left there, so I was totally unprepared. I've been casting animal tracks since I was a pre tooled living on a farm, so I wasn't prepared. And by the time I got back spring rains came in and it was under six inches of water, but

seedar was planned. So then I started looking around in the area more and this real guy said, steady your thupple nat, see where the water is, see where the habitat is. I went from there and crowned on different occasions tracks over the next year. And then life always gets in the way, and I hadn't been out as much in the field, but that was about to take me started. I'm not going backwards now. After seeing that print, that is made my day. I smiled for a month

after that. I'm a track guy. I'm not a tracker. That's a whole different skill set. But I love the animal tracks. I have the whole pass collection of dogs and pats and possumuam coon and squirrel and bob care and buffalo, and I don't have my mountain lion yet, still looking for that. I love tracks, so I'm the trail.

It wasn't a creek, but it was in a low lying area where there was standing water. I crossed over this track, I stopped because it immediately looked like a footprint. And the closer I looked, and the more I inspected it, the more it looks like what I would consider to be the quintessential example of a sasquatch print. So I snapped a couple of photos. I continued on the hike because I wasn't doing anything bigfoot related that day. We were on a hike, just enjoying nature, enjoying a different

piece of our property that we hadn't hiked before. And then fast forward a couple of years later, I showed this photo of this print to Cliff Barrickman. I'm sitting having dinner with Cliff because I was out speaking at a conference with him and doctor Jeff Meldrum and Michael Freeman, and I show Cliff this photo and I'm like, look at this Paradola footprint. Isn't this cool? And Cliff's, dude, did you cast this? And I said no. It was

in standing water, which I've never casted in before. It had rained the day before, it was raining the next three days after I found it. I thought it was paradoley and Cliff was like, no, dude, that's clearly a Sasquatch footprint, one of the better ones I've ever seen. You should have cast it. And I'm like, oh my god, of course one of the best. At that time, that

was the best one that I had seen. I'd cast it other prints that turned out to be crap, which most of them honestly are if they're legitimate in my opinion. And I learned that from Cliff, and I learned that from people like doctor Meldrum over the years. Cast everything you come across, and it would have been a great time for me to learn how to cast and take the water out, but live and learn. So I totally get it. But it does one of the two things

for most people. Some people find those things and it makes them go in the complete opposite direction. They're like, I don't want any part of this. That's scary to me. That is a huge animal that's not supposed to exist that I am looking at the remnants from. So that puts people way closer in a lot of cases than they want to be. Obviously, it wasn't the case for you, and hasn't continued to be the case. It clearly pushed you in the opposite direction to go and look further

for these things. So let's talk about the encounter that you and I discussed at the camp out. Unlike most people, I don't hear a lot about the encounters people have before they come on the show. But you and I had a conversation about this, So I want to now share that with the rest of the people listening to us. Now, let's set it up for them. Let's tell everybody where you were, what you were doing, and what happened during your encounter with one of these creatures.

the tone for the week. So the next day we in the app from there and just drive around and scout the alien for possible places to go. At nine, so I'm in a car with four others. The driver is a bfro Field investigator and it's his daughter and future son in law. Then in another fast walked on that for the first time, and this other guy was a lot more experienced than me too. So we're driving

around and this guy calls out to stop. Now for context, these are country roads or county roads, so we're not full little dried, and we're just driving around the trunty side. It's mixed timber and some pasture. That's what you went invision in the National forests. It's pretty good. It's ability, not really dense wood, not really big caliper trees. So we're going around and by golly, he sees a tree structure.

So we stopped. All the doors fly open and we jeff the fence that was mostly down anyway and locked over it and studied this tree structure. I've seen them in my pome research are in two a lot. So you look and see where the trees came from. Well it's only like seven detalls, so it's not a huge one, not huge tree es, but to still look around for root balls where they come from. And it all passed the sniff test. There's no chainsaw marks or cross beretsaw marks.

They were just broken off and stack that And in training park was it was driving on a game trail. So the other four decided we need to check out the game trail for ampossible other evidence. And I figure five sets of eyes isn't in better than four sets of eyes, So I stayed at the tree. Plus, I just love staring at a tree structures. It just makes me smile just to see how things are interlaced and building the logical pace that mother nature didn't do this

as something else. So I'm there being quiet. To my right, I know there's a farm house because of her door shut and a vehicle sound, but I can't see it. It's out of sight. So these four start going straight ahead to me. I'm spending him on the game trail. They're following the game trail out and to my right, Eve here annoying. I grew up on an eighty acre farm. We always had a year out for people trespassing on

our lands, and my dad would always go out. He never had an ugly confrontation that he does come out, But what the heck you doing? I didn't know if this is pride of the land or not. I still don't know it's private land. So I figure I can intercende so this guy doesn't jump. Are full of people and in a hurry things get really heated. Try to refuse him. So I'm looking for the sound, looking for

the farmer. Don't see him, don't see him. And then the farmer crops up between some trees and he is pulling walking alongside his paralleling his flanking the four as they're walking straight and moving slow, just like I'm the deer hunter, Just like i'd stalk the deer. If I know I'm close, you freeze from the waist up and just slowly go along. You don't want to throw your position, do the movement. But if his dress head, the coat and something, I don't see why a bomber would be

dressed like that. So he goes on a little further and gets behind some trees. I don't sam It comes out in the open of the ear. This time it's in sunshine, so I can see it's a reddish brown for three inches four inches long. Not a real stocky dell will I go professional basketball player. I can't see any face detail. It looks like it's a character from the sitcom Adam's Family or the Monsters. I can't remember

which one. That the little it that comes up and it is and then walks around, it's just a big moplug's That's what this reminded me. Now, it didn't levitate, it didn't do any of the spoopy stuff or paranormal stuff. It loft just I would be walking the parallel to these guys to see what's going on. So I'm still trying to figure out why is that farmer wearing this long bully suit? Of nice to notice here. The mind does weird things to try to justify things. I thought,

maybe it's a horse walking on hind legs. No horse on hind legs, it's going to be a lot tall leggedness. Maybe it's a sheep of goat or something I didn't mix out. So I'm still trying to struggle with it, and the other four are coming back now. That whole lapsed time from noise to where it finally disappears, it's only like thirty seconds, but I had a fair look at it. It was walking side profile so before come back and I said, did you guys hear seeing you

at whatever it was stalking you? And they didn't hear or see anything. It was all news to them.

toll LIKE i, say not real. Balty and SINCE i was watching the side profile of, IT i don't know how rob the shoulders. Were he, Said, john sounds three like you heard the first pass a daytime, Sighting AND i, thought, wow that just threw. Me i've known they're. THERE i found their tracks on five different occasions back here at, home SO i knew they were. There it wasn't the revelation of. That that just the revelation of the same. One it's still, hey it's just make me a little

all over there to replay. That in my, mind it would have been different if you would have stared at me or done a bluck charge or calls or. Anything it was an easy on me first. Experience maybe the future vaught so. SMOOTH i don't know if he ever saw. ME i was. Still But i've heard somebody speculate that they can follow one object or one, group but they're not good in. Multitasking if there's a separate person or, group they can't look at it all and. Study that's not, evidence that's just.

Well Late luck AND i camp down there a couple of times BEFORE i heard all the stories of what's IN. Ldl so after she passed three and a half years, AGO i still go down there my dog AND i AND i set the night recorders AND i found A the first couple of, YEARS i set the recorder up too close to, camp AND i get too much background, noise car, traffic AND i THOUGHT i need to spend more time and find an isolated. Spot SO i found

a cemetery a half mile on really remo. Roads it had a little turnaround area SO i could get off the road to set up my. Quarter So i've set it out there for a few years. Now last, fall WHEN i pulled in treen o'clock at, night all, DARK i was seeing flashing lights in the tombstones in the. Graveyard, no this might not be the night to set. Out so As i'm turning, AROUND i give a palm slap on the side of my truck and there's nothing. There

SO i Decide i'm going. Home i'll come back. Tomorrow SO i came back the next day in, daylight AND i debunked the flashing. Lights some of the tombstones were modern polish, granted so WHEN i drove around the, circle the headlights to cross them and it would flash back at.

Know and WHEN i reviewed the audio and then those sounds come, through it's the greatest. Feeling won't proof, squat but something's.

Night there are some bedding down areas and the abandoned structures that could have been any, raccoons possums with street but still the overall ambulance was everybody was on, there Including. Levi that name comes up in our. Vfrost he comes to us from THE ufo side of light and he was going nuts all with the vibes and what his meters were telling it in that. Area but, yeah WHEN i saw it was all calm that he's just daylight and no.

Silent, again it may not have happened during that particular, experience but have you had those kind of experiences in the past where you felt like you were having in this moment where you were being watched or there was a presence around, you and or have you had the experience where everything seems to go silent in the area and you get this ominous feeling of something's in the area besides another. Person, yeah AND i.

are there at that. TIME i have had the eerie, feeling but not BECAUSE i think they're, there that Because i'm viewing something that really can't be explained any other way other than sat. SQUAD i found it like a kill.

BOX i don't know what it, was but a big, tree maybe a couple foot, caliber and it was suspended about three and a half feet above the ground between two, trees so it had to blood defense, line so it was on the lower side and on one side was a drop off to a crick so that was an affected, barrier so if an animal was coming over the, hill he couldn't.

Me and another TIME i saw a tree hang or probably a foot and a half guy in their fifteen two tree section hung up in trees like fifteen feet above the ground between three, trees AND i just stare at. THEM i live In Tornado, alley that there's no other damage in the area from. TORNADOES i just feel that they couldn't be present, there maybe not in that moment

that this is their turf And i'm walking through. It but NOW i haven't felt that emotional buzz now the mind in the dark when you're by yourself in my. Area i've been down there once just to see IF i could do, it or about MIDNIGHT i went. OUT i just wanted to set and. LISTEN i THINK i gifted something to which that whole concept is learning the mold. MAN i stayed there for a half hour THAT i had to do that could easily just be freshman. Night and it's one thing to go out with the group

Bigfoot, yeah But i'm also. SMART i have AN iq above. EIGHTY i am not going in the woods close to something that was clearly as large as whatever this was that made that. Vocalization SO i think sometimes it's better to be smart about the situation

than to go running. In AND i, too like you used to go out in the woods and do night, hikes AND i would sit down in areas on the, property pretty deep in the woods and listen to the. Nightlife you sit there for twenty thirty minutes and. LISTEN

i don't do that. Anymore SO i totally get. It and for people who think they would do, THAT i challenge you right, now if you can go into a secluded area And i'm not talkingalking about a city, Park i'm talking in a secluded area in the woods by, yourself in the middle of the night and sit there for thirty minutes. ALONE i think you're going to see What john AND i are talking about here and what it feels like to do, that because, HONESTLY i think

Off i'm in that stage where you're. Paralyzed you can't, move but your

Around so could have been, That or it's a sasquatchy, area so it could have been. That you grow from those experiences and you find the woods knock going to kill, you even though you can account for everything that happens out.

Things but did that encounter where you actually saw this creature and once you processed that and, said, YEAH i THINK i had an encounter WHERE i saw a, sasquatch did that change the way that you felt before your, encounter or how did you reconcile or did you have to reconcile those old beliefs versus what you believed after you actually laid eyes on one of these.

Education she had her blinders on when people just knew, her and even my. Mom my mom will say that she recognizes there's a

chance that they. Exist that she'd have to see the evidence, herself AND i give. Her none of them have laughed at. Me maybe When i'm not, there they might, say, oh that genre just off on this bigfoot stuff, again that's.

GUNS i bought a handgun that would give me a fighting, chance BUT i don't take it WITH i got in the day WHEN i just wasn't sure of what we're dealing with, here and we still don't know what we're dealing. With i'm getting more comfortable with the idea and you hear more of the, encounters and, yeah if you didn't expect, it or if you weren't as open minded about what you're, experiencing you might think it was all threatened with. Believier but then now THAT i, see like when they come into camp in the middle of the morning and throw stuff around and slap the sides of caverns and, stuff you can see the possible

playful side of that kind of thumber on their. HOUSE i just don't have a credible case in my mind of an experience that they were a real threat AND wha should be popular club. Game SO i Guess i'm getting more tazzle about. It but if my name disappears out, there it could be a cautionary tale that you need to start treating these things.

Help so the MORE i literally every, DAY i tend to move further and further away from the push for, discovery it's become more to me about continuing to document other people's, encounters BECAUSE i think up to and including when these things are eventually hopefully recognized by, science that's the most important thing THAT i can do in the research and pushing the ball down the field and continuing to educate people in

the community and talk about these encounters and get these stories out there for. People, HONESTLY i used to think that was the norm for. EVERYBODY i thought everybody who was in this wants them. Discovered, no you start having conversations with people and they have their very in my, opinion valid, reasons and a lot of, cases very much like you, Said i'm not so sure THAT i want the humans to be. INVOLVED i think they're fine on their. OWN i don't think they need anything from, us AND

i could be totally. Wrong they could be completely, endangered and without us stepping, in they may be gone in the next. DECADE i have no. IDEA i don't think that's the, case and if it, WERE i would feel horrible THAT i didn't do my part to help prevent them from completely. Disappearing but my gut tells me they're fine without. Us they don't need human beings interceding in any, way, shape, form or, fashion and the best thing that we could do is just leave them alone and leave them. Be

and of course there are those of. Us i've had my, experiences BUT i want to have more experiences with. THEM i wanted to get closer AFTER i had my initial, experiences and there's some part of me who still wants to go out and have more of those. Experiences And

i'm even torn about that because some people think that's. Harassment, right we're harassing them in their, environment and even That i've started to think more about since my, encounters And i'm mending the way THAT i approach the research HOW i do WHAT i. DO i don't go out and do as many vocalizations and tree knocks and things THAT i used to do that can or could be disruptive to these. Creatures that's just my personal take on, it AND i wouldn't be in this position HAD i not

gotten to see them with my own eyes last. Summer SO i think a lot of people have to go through. This it is certainly an evolution for everybody who gets into, this no matter where they start on their. Journey it is a journey for, everybody and it's different for, everybody AND i think the best thing we could do as a community is just be respectful of where everybody is in their journey and try our best to do whatever it is we're doing to push the research down the.
