Episode description

In this episode, Brian welcomes Tom from Michigan, who shares his long-standing fascination with Bigfoot, stemming from his childhood in the 60s and 70s. Tom recounts several harrowing encounters during BFRO expeditions in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, including sightings and unexplained phenomena such as sleep paralysis and eerie noises. The discussion delves into theories about infrasound, used by large animals and possibly Bigfoot, that could explain the paralysis and fear experienced by witnesses. Tom also touches on the broader implications and theories of Sasquatch's nature, adding depth to the mysterious and gripping tales of his experiences.

I folks on, welcome my guest of the show. It is Tom from Michigan. Welcome to the show.

Speaker 3

Sir, Oh, thank you, pleasure to meet your right.

Speaker 2

I am glad to have you.

Speaker 5

Man.

Speaker 1

Let's get right into it. Let's talk about this bigfoot. Think what guy you interested in the subject? To begin with, I'll shay, I'm a child of the sixties.

Speaker 3

That's where I was born. Going in the seventies, there was a resurgence of interest in the whole Bigfoot phenomenon. So as a child by just I hate that stuff up every magazine, every book, or some horrible movies. Some of the were good, most of them were not. Get my parents to take me to those. They shot through them. At least my dad did. My mom didn't want anything to do with it. But as a child I had this interest. Then I grew up, I went to college, I got a job. Buried and also behind me went

to the White Side. Then my wife and I decided that being married was the right thing for either of us, and I got divorced. I thought, I have nothing old of being back went on. I look up and see what's going on in the Bigfoot community. I hit the internet and I found this tiny little organization called the BFRO. They had an expedition planned in my state, in northern Michigan, and I thought, hey, here's an opportunity to get back in and see what's going on, learn about what's going

on in the world of Bigfoot. I always had an interest as a child, but as I got old, I thought, here's an opportunity, let's get into it. That's where my journey in the early two thousand started.

Speaker 1

So I know you're here to talk about some experiences, So why don't we just go back to your first experience. Take us back to where you were, what you were doing, and tell us what happened to you.

Speaker 3

Okay, thousand and eight, there's a town in the Upper Peninsula. The largest town in the Upper Peninsula in Michigan call Marquette, which is a fairly salivable college town in the heart

of the Upper Peninsula. You get that far out of town and you're pretty much in the woods up there, a lot of forests, a lot of trees, a lot of swamps and rivers, very forested and being a part of the thorn Is eighth And after I talked about going on THISVFRO expedition after my divorce, after the first expedition, I apparently was enthusiastic enough that they asked me to become an investigator for that. So that's what it did.

In two thousand and eight, I and a group of other investigators were doing it's a scouting party but the BFRO at that time and I'm no longer a member, but at that time and we used the BFRO would go through reports, they'd look at data and they'd find these places where activity was dam reported, where people were telling them things were going on. So investigators would get together and we do these private expeditions to scout these places out and is there any activity going on? Is

there anything interesting? Would this make a good sight a scouting act? I was one of the people who had that probably travel the farthest to get there. Maybe not the farthest, but one of the farthests. I had to work that day. I lived in northern Lawer, Michigan. This was about as six hour drive to get to the camping location in the scouting location. Got out of work later than I expected. I packed my stuff up and I headed up along the way. But it's getting later,

and it's a long drive. I don't know if you've ever been to the Upper Peninsula, Michigan, but there are miles and miles of nothing. Caffeine is the order of the day. Drank a large amount of caffeine on my trip on the way there. Even then, I got there way later than everybody else. You know, I'd hoped to get there leave worker only get there before dark. I got there well after dark, knowing that location a little

bit already. I knew where the main campsite was, but I decided that I would instead pull off into another location, an apple orchard on that same road, and this is a dirt road. I pulled off into the apple orchard that might have been a mile from the main campsite, and I thought I'll just I'll sleep in my car tonight. So that's what I did as a little supers. They're not that comfortable if you're sleeping in the driver's seat. But it was a long work day in a long drive.

But going back to all that caffeinated beverage I drank I kind of more than once during the night. Like it's a book kip there and we're talking about dark skys where this that you know, market of miles and mouths from where this location is at. There's nothing but dark skies there. You look up to see the stars. It's just gorgeous. Is quiet. One of the times I got up to wrote weave my shelf, I could hear

something large making noises down in the apple orchard. You could hear something walking, could hear making noises, and then I heard something shaking on an apple tree. It shook it so hard. It was just you could just sounded like a rainfall of apples coming out of the tree, falling out of the tree. It was scary because just the power that it would take to do what was happening there. So finished to my business as quickly as they could, and I quickly got back into the shoebrew

because we all know the third shave cars. Although it was quite experience, I was still tired, even though with the caffeine it doesn't affect like normal people because but I did fall asleep, and then before dawn I woke up, but I couldn't move parallous of sorts, and so I would say, let's sleep paraos and hopefully we'll have an opportunity to talk about that as we get into my other encounters. But basically I was in the driver's seat

looking back. I was awake, but I couldn't move, but I couldn't see enough of the driver's side window that a creature walked past and it bent down and it looked in the car while I was there unable to move, and looked at me walking and it was gone. It only lasted a couple of seconds, but I clearly shot and then the parrels went away, so I quickly got out of the car. Was still pre dawned, but like I said, the dark sky's there. You can see the by the star of any moonlight, so it was bright enough.

I didn't see anything at that point, and it was gone, very interesting, very disturbing. I would say, what I show all was very similar to what Patterson Ginlan movie, very stereotypical looking fast flatch. When I looked, there's an artist, Sibylla Irwin. I found some of her sketches after the fact, and I found one that was incredibly similar to what I saw. Some of her stuff. It's based on eyewindness reports, and she's an excellent sketch artist. Clearly, it was a creature,

not a bear. I do have a degree in biology, and that didn't know the Michigan my whole life. I know a paper when I see one, and this wasn't a bear. Pretty frightening. That is my class A. I don't know that. I wouldn't say that I've ever had anything other than that as a class A, but I've had a few other experiences. We will hopefully have an opportunity to talk about this during this conversation that was

two thousand and eight ten. Because it's such a fun area, this area south of Markette a few miles, it's a drive to get there busy. You have to go to Markette if you want to get a sandwich shirt thing. If you don't bring food, we would make that drive. But a couple of years later, several of the investigators decided, let's go back. Such an intriguing site because other people had experiences in that area as well, half eaten screws thrown at them from the woods, things like that, just

weird stuff. This was yet another time there. I had a very large tree just laid down in front of my tent while we were out on maneuvers. So very exciting place. But in twenty ten I decided to have another expedition there. I brought a friend with me, the friend who's a skeptic. At that time he was a skeptic. I decided he enjoys camping too, so let's go camp. The main group decided that they would camp out it at the same base camp that I had not gone

to for that first event. I instead said Patrick, I had this great site. It's a wave from the other folks. It's going to be really quiet and peaceful. Let's had our tent up there. So I went back to the Apple or try when I have my Class A sighting. There's a turnaround off the road a little bit not far off the main dirt road. If you go further in, you can drive down a little slope into the apple

orchard itself, and I said, let's drive down there. Those people they're going to be boring and they're going to be doing stuffed out at May Camp. What's got this quiet? A little place near a apple orchard, I know, So we did. During the night, while we were sleeping, I woke up and again I couldn't move. I was paralyzed again, which was it's a very disturbing thing to have happened

to you. Again. A lot of people said you were just having some sort of sleep proalysis, which it has the characteristics of that, except I've never had sleep paralysis in my life other than the prow that happened there. At that time, I woke up in Might, sleeping back. I couldn't move, I couldn't hear anything. It was very quiet,

very peaceful, but I couldn't move. And then suddenly this feeling of calmness, relief, everything's going to be wonderful came over me and I said, all asleep, like a serotonin release of south short some sort of brain chemical saying everything's going to be fine. I go back to sleep, and I did. The next day, we went to Bay Camp before hanging out coffee breakfast that sort of thing, and we brought up to the other investigators. Hey, here's

what happened to me last night. And I woke up the middle of night frozen, couldn't move like the time a couple of years ago, and this time, I just after it was over everything with fool, I wanted to go back to sleep, and I did, and my buddy Patrick keeler at me. You didn't say anything in front of the group, didn't say a word as I described

what happened to me. But we finished up our breakfasts, are hanging out at base camp, and we decided that we would go back to our tent our campsite get some gears so we could do some hiking and scouting around for the rest of the day. On the way back, he told me the same thing happened to me last night. So very interesting, very interesting phenomena, very different after the

fact other people that I knew. We left a friend of mine who was part of the group at the main camp site the last night that he was on the expedition. I left before he did. He staid another day the last night he decided to camp in the Apple Orchard as well, where we had been camped and he later related to me the same thing happened to him.

It's very interesting last experience, and this was I would call life chacking in that it changed ultimately a number of behaviors that I do, one that I won't camp anymore, among other things. It's scared me that much. So we were again. It was a scouting expedition of investigators and we went further west in the Upper Peninsula. We are going near a time called I believe it's Kenton. You go further west, even farther from people. We decided we were in a camp. First night we camped near a

lake boring. Nothing happened, So we decided, let's go further and we're going to go to a different site and even further away from the people. So we did that. We got there. We did night maneuvers, one of the things that investigators I don't know if they still do and are not an ace so because it can result in activity. We got maneuvers or patrol or whatever. Basically, you just put on your headlamps, set it to red light,

you walk through the woods. You don't want to ruin your night vision, and small groups of people go through the woods seeing what you d wrestle up. Sometimes you knock, sometimes you vocalize that sort of thing. That evening, I was the designated vocalizer. That meant I got to do some howling. I do okay with it. I was able to make some pretty convincing human sounding like another animal type sounds. Did that number of times at one time. I did that towards the end last we were heading

that camp. It kicked up quite a reaction from a group of kios packs for short. I don't know if you've been in the woods, when the coyos, they get excited, and it was really close. It was really loud. It was pretty impressive. That was towards the end. We got back to our camp. We sat around the campfire a little bit and it started to rain. It over seems to rain when I camp. But what we did is we all went to our separate tense and the two other investigators. They were run one side of the camp.

I was on the other side. I would say seventy five to one hundred feet separating us. I camped separately. I laid down in the tent. There's an interesting thing I like to do. One of the things I'm most interested in because it's relatively inexpensive and you can collection really interesting data. Is audio recording by I staid up my audio recorder. It was a nice O Libus PCM digital recorder. I could run nearly a whole night. Why

I shut that up. I had a stereo was set up with two mics going into it, and I hung it from the top of my tent and I went to sleep. It rained very hard, Like I said, you started raining, but it rained very hard, like torrential downfall type rain all night. In the morning, towards morning, it stopped. I'm sleeping and suddenly I wake and I can't move, the same paralysis that we described previously. I couldn't move. It was different than the other times. It laughed. In

like seven minutes. I fought it. If I struggled, I tried to yell for help. I could move a little bit. You could try to move my feet a little bit. I was yelling for all like I should have lasted for about seven minutes, and then there was a knock up the hill from where my tent was, and I was released. I could move again. I didn't move. I decided moving would not be a good idea right now, this was right around dawn. Unlike the last time near Marquette.

When this event was over, I didn't have that feeling before it. It didn't I feel like serotonin had been released. I was still terrorized there, still felt helpless, and I didn't want to be there that sort of thing. So I have a couple of theories, and they're only theories. I can't really say why it happened the way it did or what was going on. But I felt like we were tracing around in their backyard and they didn't want us there. I felt a message was delivered. The

message was don't come around here no more. After the fact, I listened to the recording so and I captured the event, the whole event of me being paralyzed, me trying to yell for help. It comes. I was more like very disturbing. I don't like to listen to it. A lot of people don't like to listen to it. You can hear it if you listen to the recording, and it's a high quality recording. It was a very good digital recorder.

Even though you can hear the rain drops hitting the tent, it stopped raining, but the very wooded though that we and the needles are still wet, and that they're dripping and hitting the tent. Believe, if you listened closely enough to the richl the hat set, you can hear a twig snap, like something stepped on a twig outside of

my tent. That's right around the time that I can't paralyze, and you can cheer during during that event, and you hear me struggling as best I can, although I can barely move, and trying to offer help all of it. I can barely speak. And at the end of the recording, you can hear what sounds like a wood knock or a tree branch snap or something up the hill. That was the end. No euphoria, no serotonin release, nothing, just we don't want you here.

Speaker 1

Before we go any further, I want to break in here in the post edit and share with you the clip that Tom was referring to, where he describes the terrifying sensation of being paralyzed inside his tent, unable to move as strange and unexplained sounds echoed around him. This recording is approximately seven minutes long, and I highly recommend listening with headphones to fully immerse yourself in the atmosphere. Pay close attention. You may even catch the distinct wood

knocks and snapping sounds that Tom later recounted. As Tom himself warned, some listeners may find this audio unsettling, so listener discretion is strongly advised. Stay tuned for more Sasquatch out to see We'll be right back after these messages.

M m hm m m m m. Brother of my main experiences in the Sas squats realm Ditleased. Among the people that I have always associated with and discussed this with, we call dansapp. I think it's a pretty common term. I've talked to other people who have had similar experiences. Like I said, I had a friend who camped after the fact in the Apple Orchard experience the same thing. I've talked to people who've described not being able to move, but they could feel waves going over their body while

they're laying morseless. So one of the theories is that these creatures can emit some sort of infrasound. Large creatures, elephants, tigers have the ability to emit low frequency sounds ten hurts or less. Whether or not that's what's happening, it's hard to say. But the one guy that I talked to, it certainly sounded like a low frequency something or other was washing over him while he was paralyzed. Some people

described just hey, I feel like I'm being watched. Some people discuss sudden fear coming over them for no reason. I saw one investigator I was walking with fall to the knees during a night maneuver. It's just a very odd phenomenon. Those are the things that happened to me.

Speaker 1

I've conducted countless interviews over the years with people just like Tom who make of paralysis and other strange symptoms while outlooking for sasquatch. Many like Tom, speculate that these creatures may be using infrasound. But what is infrasound and what animals use it and why? Well, I thought I would take a few minutes and answer those very questions before we move on infrasound refers to sound waves that occur at frequencies lower than twenty hertz, which is the

lower limit of human hearing. These low frequency sounds are characterized by their long wavelengths, which allow them to travel great distances and penetrate through various obstacles like trees, walls, and.

Speaker 2

Even the ground.

Speaker 1

Infrasound can be naturally occurring, generated by earthquakes, ocean waves, and volcanic activity. It can also be artificially created by machines, explosions, or even some experimental weapons. But perhaps the most fascinating aspect of infrasound is its use by certain animals to communicate, hunt, and even incapacitate their prey. Despite being imperceptible to the human ear, infrasound can have significant physiological and psychological effects.

People exposed to strong infrasound frequencies have reported feelings of unease, dizziness, nausea, and even hallucinations. Some studies suggest that prolonged exposure to infrasound may trigger anxiety or paranoia, making it a topic of interest in psychological and paranormal research. This property of infrasound has led to speculation that it could be used as a biological tool by some animals and possibly even

cryptids like the sasquatch. Several large animals have evolved to utilize infrasound as a means of communication, navigation, or even as a possible weapon against prayer threats. Elephants are one of the most well documented users of infrasound. African and Asian elephants communicate over vast distances using infrasound frequencies as low as five herts. Elephants emit low frequency rumbles that track for miles, allowing distant herds to coordinate movements, worn

of dangers, and even find mates. These sounds can travel through the ground as vibrations, which elephants can detect using the sensitive nerves in their feet. During migrations, elephants use infrasound to keep their herd together, especially in dense forests where visual contact is difficult. Some researchers believe elephants may use infrasound to deter predators or signal distress. Tigers are

another animal known to produce infrasound. Their roars contain frequencies as low as eighteen herds, which can cause feelings of paralysis and fear in prey animals and possibly even humans. A tiger's infrasound enhanced roar can temporarily disorient prey, making it easier to subdue them. Some zookeepers have reported feeling vibrations in their chest when a tiger roars near them. Tigers also use infrasound to mark their presence in an area,

warning other predators to stay. Some theories suggest that tigers may be able to direct infrasound in a more focused manner, especially in dense environments like forests, where sound waves can reflect off trees and create an amplifying effect. Many whale species, particularly blue whales, communicate using infrasound frequencies that can travel across entire ocean basins. Infrasound allows whales to communicate over

thousands of miles. Some marine biologists believe whales may use infrasound to map their surroundings by bouncing sound waves off the ocean floor. In theory, yes, some animals, like tigers, may have a limited ability to focus their infrasound waves, especially in enclosed environments like dense forests or caves, where sound waves can bounce off surfaces and amplify their effects. However, infrasound is typically omnidirectional, meaning it spreads out rather than

forming a concentrated beam. This means that while infrasound can have powerful effects, it is unlikely to be used as a precision weapon in a tight space. Instead, it would more likely create a general feeling of unease or disorientation in a confined environment. In contrast, focused sound waves like ultrasound can be concentrated into a beam, but this is

an entirely different mechanism. Sasquatch is often described as an elusive, large primate like creature reported in various parts of North America. While scientific evidence for its existence remains unverified, some anecdotal reports suggest that witnesses experience strange physiological effects in its presence, including a sense of being watched or stalked, sudden waves of fear or panic without visible cause, temporary dizziness or nausea.

Speaker 2

If sasquatch were to exist and use.

Speaker 1

Infrasound, it would not be unique among animals, but it would be quite unusual for a primate. No known primates, including great apes like gorillas or chimpanzees, produce infrasound. If sasquatch could generate infrasound, it would suggest a level of vocal capability or chest resonance significantly different from that of known primates.

Speaker 3

Since the inside event near Kenson, I won't keep what's campanymore. It was be frightening, and I sometimes wonder if I had been there by myself, if I would have become less statistic.

Speaker 2

Yeah, that's a scary thing to think about. This is something that's come up over and over.

Speaker 1

I've probably done a thousand interviews at this point, between the show and meeting people at conferences and doing speaking engagements and those kind of things. It comes up often with people having this experience where they think they have been zapped or they've experienced infrasound. It's interesting to me. It's one of the things. I love this phenomenon because I go in so many different directions. I'm a big audio guy. Obviously, I love audio. I deal with audio

as a content creator all the time. I just announced it recently. I'm actually going up to Ron Moorhead's house on the twenty fifth of the month. Ron is going to play some of these unreleased sounds. Because I've always been fascinated with the Sierra sounds and things that people can hear. I've heard vocalizations. That's what started everything here on our property in North Carolina for us was hearing vocalizations first. Then there was gifting that it's progressed from there.

I heard what sounded like samurai chatter when I was up in RADIUMBC back in twenty twenty three. Ideo has always been this fascination for me, But infrasound is one of those things that you can't record. Infrasound, you can't hear it. It's only the person who experiences it. Abe del Rio comes to mind. Abe was out on expedition with some other folks. He was the biggest guy in the group. He's a pretty imposing figure right the threat

he's the threat figure, and he was completely crippled. And nobody else experienced anything like Abe experience during that moment. So it seems to be very directed, at least in most of the cases that I've documented, it's a very directed thing that one person versus other peoples. Let's crack this open and get into some of your theories about infrasound. Because you mentioned lions, you mentioned tigers, you mentioned elephants, some of these bigger animals have the ability to emit infrasound,

but that would be a unique thing amongst primates. That's a whole nother ball of wax. Whether these things are possibly primates, people think they're closer to human beings, but ultimately I feel they're some sort of a primate. That would be something that's very unique to primates. As far as my understanding, do you have theories about Do you think it's straight up infrasound? Do you think it's some

other kind of ability that these things have. What are your theories on what you experienced versus Again, that's the common thing for skeptics to go to is to say, oh, you're experiencing sleep paralysis.

Speaker 3

That's what it was.

Speaker 2

So what are your theories on one versus the other? And what do you think you ultimately experienced?

Speaker 3

Well, I always thought sound was likely the best candidate because it's something that we already know occurs in nature among other mammals. We know that they are mammals who can emit. The thing that's very confusing for me, and one of the things that makes me wonder if it's something else, is low frequency sound is non directional. It goes everywhere. It's hard for it to be directional, but I too have experienced where like I said, the one

guy stumbled to his knees. He was just ten feet away from me when he went to his knees, and I didn't hear anything at that time. He was the bigger of the two of us on that walk, so he was in my mind he was the threat figure to them, the one that they wanted to get the message to. It is very interesting if it is infrasound one like we talked about, you and I don't. We

can't afford the equipment record that sort of thing. We can't afford the equipment to collect reasonable data, and the people who can are putting it towards a big perch. I think it's the best option. When we talk about elephants, they're not predators, but I think they can use it for a long distance. A very intelligent animal, they probably

use it communication. But when we talk about predators, if a predator can have some sort of tool that makes hunting just a little bit easier to startle a prey animal some sort, it seems like it's a reasonable tool. When I think about a saslatch, it's a very large animal. It needs a lot of calories. If they adapted or evolved, I'm an aper. If they evolved, one there are a large enough animal, they have the lung capacity, they would be a candidate for being able to emit or produce

some sort of infra sound. If they can use that as part of their predation activity. I think that it becomes very beneficial to them. Why burn all of your calories chasing deer if all you have to do is sneak up on them and paralyze them with some sort of infra sound, then you just you walk up and beat them down, you twist their neck or whatever. You don't have to run as fast as as a deer for any distance. It becomes very calorie efficient if you've

got this technique. Is the different sound. I can't think of anything other than like electric gals. I can't think of any manvels that can produce an electrical charge that would interrupt your brain activity, and for sound is the best candidate.

Speaker 1

And stay tuned for more sasquatch otyesy, we'll be right back after these messages.

Speaker 3

I think too that if it does indeed as a physiological capability, they use it, probably more frequently than people realize, investigate people that are camping. It'd be the perfect tool if you want to walk into somebody's campsite in the woods without disturbing them, if you can paralyze them and keep them from waking up. I wake up very easily. I've got cats. I can hear a cad vomiting from a dead sweep to a cad vomiting on the other

side of the room like that. I think a lot of people don't wake up, and this is all theory. I can't prove any of this. But if these creatures want to investigate campers or campsites, come in at three four am when people are already deep asleep and use that to make that they don't wake up so that they can investigate, maybe go through the core, whatever they want to do. Interesting, I believe less Stroud he did a fast Watch series, if you'd ever had a chance

to listen to those, and he was involved. He did some word with Todd as well, and in one of his videos where he's camping by himself, I think he goes to a higher elevation into some foothills or even mountainous area by himself. He's camping, he said, during the middle of the night, and this weird dream and it felt like something was sitting on my chest. And right away I'm thinking, I think maybe whatever happened to me

was happening to him and he didn't wake up. It's these things that really piqued my interest and made me at least tractually that they come around human's more frequent than we think in the middle of the woods, and the humans are in a state where they can't wake up and they don't know what's going on because of this, and I'm trying to find it again, which is very interesting.

I read some sort of Native American story at what point where they described some Native Americans were having some sort of feud with these they called them the red haired giants. Some of the Native Americans would described waking up they would both think them. They would wake up not in their camp, not in their home. They would wake up somewhere else, not knowing where they were at. Were they fat, were they paralyzed, were they picked up

and hauled off? I don't know. It's a very intrigning story. Again, those stories, they're not documented, their hand down. What you read on the Internet, a lot of it's whoy you us never know, but there are these scraps of stories and tales about the sort of phenomenon that are really hard to explain. I don't know if I got into my theories so deeply enough or fine so like I'm a ranting kook.

Speaker 2

But no, no, not at all. Let's actually shared that story.

Speaker 1

The first time I had him on the podcast, probably three years ago, he shared that story about feeling like something was sitting on him while he was in the sleeping bag. We're going out an expedition together later this year, probably September October. I'm definitely going to ask him about that when we hang out, get some further details, because I never considered the fact that it might have been some sort of an infrasound situation.

Speaker 2

That he was in.

Speaker 1

Very much like you said, maybe he was being bombarded with infrasound and wasn't able to wake up. He's had a couple of mind speak things. We're going to get a little deeper and talk a little bit about that while we're hanging out.

Speaker 2

Let me ask you this.

Speaker 1

This is one of the things that surprised me about the BFRO. I know tons of folks that are in the BFRO, laur Wade, I know Rick Rayless, I've had on the podcast in the past. Matt Moneymaker obviously probably the most famous Bigfoot in the BFRO because he started it. But here's the thing that stuck out to me, particularly having conversations with folks like Rick and Lorie Wade, is people think, or at least I thought, I'll stick to me. I thought the BFRO was more of an apor type

organization where people were pretty much flesh and blood. They went about it at a certain way. But that's not entirely at curate, because I know Laurie has had some really weird situations happened to her that she can't explain that would be far beyond, in my opinion, a flesh and blood creature. Same thing with Rick and some other

folks that have experienced things. Have you had anything that stuck out to you as beyond outside of obviously infrasam, which is we know it happens in other mammals, So

that's not something that really sticks out to me. Did you find that during your time in the BFRO that there were more strange and weird occurrences that people were dealing with when they were out looking for bigfoot, and if so, how did you deal with that as a researcher and investigator, How did you check those boxes and where did you file that away in your research.

Speaker 3

That's a good question, and I was at a BRFRO trying to think I've been out of the BFO maybe ten or twelve years. It's been a little while, maybe fifteen. The years go by, we were very aproback then. We had the apers lose with my background, my degree is biology, been in aper. Other than for sound, I never saw orgs or lights or anything like that. I never had any sort of mind speaker anything. But I talked with people,

not just investigators, but they talked about attendees. Because the expeditions are the larger expeditions, you have the non investigators, so it's part of the process. You bring them into the woods. We tried to get some activity to happen, and they had things happen to them that were a little bit more difficult to explain in the back chat channels. At least at the time we had our separate emails going having the invert investigation conversations going on. There were

always the WU and the apes. There are a lot of divides between believes sets, but there are things that happened that that are still difficult to explain in that very same apple orchard. At other times we had people say that they saw blue lights while they were there when I wasn't there, and they were there because we used that site a number of times because it was so exciting, we would put other people there. We did one maneuver where we sluck a person into a tent

in the apple. Well, you all clustered up, walked to the tent flexione in we're trying to fool somebody, and then we all took off and left that person in the tent by herself, probably one of the bravest. Actually. First she described some things that happened when she was in there by herself that were a little odd, including some blue lines and things like that. But I never saw things like that. I don't want to being an aber.

I still want to keep an open mind about what other people have experienced and go from there.

Speaker 1

I've been on the fence about these things forever. I've always been arrested in the subject. I was fifty to fifty on their existence until last year when I had my experiences where I actually got to.

Speaker 2

See these things, so I know they're real.

Speaker 3

Yep.

Speaker 1

Now I'm on a different path. I am less about evidence, honestly, and more about what these things are. This is something I've just gotten into recently. I love Matt Preutz book The Phenomenal Sasquatch, and I was going back and reading it yesterday. I'm reading one of John bender Nagl's books, The Discovery of the Sasquatch by On bender Nagel. I'm way beyond if they're real now I want to know

what they are. I'm torn with a couple of different theories on my personal theories, some sort of leftover possibly relative. I don't think Gigantopithecus still exists. I think maybe some sort of offshoot of Gigantopithecus, maybe some sort of australopithe scene.

Speaker 2

So I have my theories.

Speaker 1

Do you have or have you developed a theory as a quote unquote ape or what do you think these things might be. Do you think they're closer to some sort of a great ape, maybe a Gigantopithecus, some sort of australopithe scene, or do you think they're closer related to human.

Speaker 2

Beings like some other folks do.

Speaker 1

And frankly, some of the Native Americans First Nations people describe them as a people.

Speaker 3

Just looking at the Paris and Gimlin film, and when we hear other people describe what they saw morphologically, they don't seem to be closer to humans than to judge an epithecus or other primates. They don't seem to be quite on the same tree as we are. They're different their math. When we look at human evolution in human history,

we're larger now than we've ever been. When you look at arm length, that's a pretty common description, is their arms the way longer when you look at how the feet work in the Patterson Gibbon and I believe Patterson Gibbons shown is authentic despite all of the efforts to send it through software to make it look sharper. That only adds artifacts, that adds data that's not really there. But I think it's an outhetic. So when I look at that, I don't see a human or a near

human creature. I see something that evolved on a different part of the primate tree. Morphologically, it's just too different, and it's developed these things the whole question of eyeshine or eye glow, we don't have anything like that. But I've seen it, you know, I've seen those those lights. I've seen the red eyes. Those are the ones in the darkness. Your eyes can see blue spots and stuff like that. But if you see glowing red out of the woods looking at you down at trut, we're seeing

something that's destin. It's just too morphologically different than us for me to feel like it's any sort of human. The Native Americans, as far as they are about the natural world at that time, they didn't know what a chimpanzee was. All they knew was humans, and they saw a biped that was roughly the same shape as they were in their mind. That is that's my cousin or

its offshoot of humans. That when we look at the greater world and with the experience that we have in the modern era, we know that there are our primates out there with hands the posable thumbs that are not humans. So that's my take on it.

Speaker 1

It's all subjective, man. I appreciate you answering the question, and I appreciate you coming on and sharing your experiences. I've had a blast talking to you.

Speaker 3

Yeah, my pleasure, glad to let to share my story. And I encourage people if you've had similar experiences, and you've been paralyzed or suddenly near in the woods and you follow your knees with fear for no reason, but people don't get your story out. The only way we can build a more solid hypothesis or a theory of what's going on this if we collect data. And I really asked people to tell your stories. Tell what happened to you, don't what you've seen, what you saw when you heard.

Speaker 2

Very wise words my friend.

Speaker 4

They say, you don't gotta go home, but you can't stay.

Speaker 1

I don't want to feel.
