My dog.
We're flying through there, over the tree. I don't know how it did it? Okay, damn, I'm really confused. All I saw was my dog coming over the fence and they would dead once you hit the grill. here y hello, hit somebody out here? What quin on the out there's thought of a bit just about sixty forty nine. I don't know, easy, I'm out there. Yeah, I'm welcome right away.
Oh, thanks for joining me today. What I want to share with you it comes from Tina. Tina is originally from the yk Delta, which is Yukon Cuscokwum Delta for those who don't know. She reached out and wanted to share what it was like for her back when she was watching her cousins. This was back in nineteen eighty two.
She was in town from.
College on a summer break to help with the fishing activities, and she got roped into watching the three younger relatives of hers that were staying at her grandma's house.
She stayed the whole season.
She helped put away the fish, the smokehouse of the whole family deal. As she was wrapping up her visit, her grandma asked her if she would stick around for berry picking because some of the people were going to be meeting her to watch the kids if she was available. So she agreed because she had some time. Her grandma ended up having to go into town for a doctor's visit, and so basically she was roped into watching these other
kids because grandma was going to be gone. The way it worked out, she was unhappy with it, but she liked her little cousin, so it was no big deal. As she made her arrangements to extend her stay out a couple weeks, one of the younger cousins asked her if they could go berry picking, and she was all for it. There was really not a whole lot of people in the village, and where her grandma's house was the furthest away from all the other buildings of the village.
Very small village. She didn't want to share the name, still small to this day. The kids asked if they could go berry picking. She had no problem with it because wheeler trail went right by her grandma's place out onto the berry picking patch.
She gathered them. She was eighteen.
She always wanted to be a mom, so she really doated on the kids and really took the time to try to teach them what she knew about berry picking and the plants, and what berries not to pick when they're not ready, and just going through the whole bit. They got about a half mile away. They were not too far a lot of tundraut that way. There was like these little islands of black spruce here and there.
They were near one of these islands of black spruce picking the berries, and she was teaching them how to put more in the bucket than in the mouth, so they had something show when they got home. So she was having a giggle with the kids, and one of the older ones of the three said, Hey, who's that
man watching us. She immediately said, what man, because most adult males were on the river doing into season stuff, getting ready for hunting, stuff like that, so she was shocked to hear that there was actually someone an adult male around. She turned and looked at where he was pointing. In approximately she's guestmating about two hundred year yards. This kid was pointing at this figure standing in the trees.
As soon as she looks up and seen it, it started moving just inside the tree line that she could see. It wasn't a very big group of trees, and she could see it moving at repositioned and squatted down looking back at them. Immediately, she felt sick her stomach and asked the kids to gather up their stuff quickly, that are are berry pickings done? They did that, and she's trying to keep the kids in front of her without freaking out. She grew up hearing Harryman stories and stuff.
She was aware, but she didn't realize how real the stories were. Even though she'd heard her older uncles and stuff talking about seeing them before and this and that. She just always chalked it up to the way to control kids and keep them near home. That was her overall attitude about it initially, So she's hurrying the kids along, and again, they're about a half mile from the villa. She could see her grandma's house off in the distance,
so they kept going. She saw What struck her about it is when she looked over it and saw it moved along the tree lur and it seemed like when it turned back to look at them as soon as it made eye contact with her and at that distance, because I asked, I was like, two hundred yards's pretty. Are you sure it was just not looking at your group or whatever? She goes, it looked me in the eye. I could feel it looking me in the eye, which
is a creepy thought. But every time she walking the kids along, every time she turned around and look back at that group of trees, it was still right there. Until she got out of view of it. Just because of the lay of the land, there was a little bit of a rolling hill. She lost sight of it. So she's hurrying the kids along because she can no longer tell where it's at, and she's trying not to freak out and scare the kids, but making a game
of it. Let's play race to Grandmas and whatnot. Just getting the kids moving, so she makes a game of it. The kids tick off running and as they're running along, she's keeping distance between her and the kids, so she could turn around and look every once in a while and then tell the kids, I'm gaing on you, you know, just to encourage them to run faster without scaring them.
Make a game of it.
So she said she was about half the distance back to her grandma's house, so within a quarter mile of her grandma's house, she felt something weird in the ground, so she said she stopped to turn and look back, and it was about half the distance from before, so about one hundred yards further back from where they just were running and playing. This thing was standing there, squatted down, almost like a football player. This movement its upper body kind of back and forth a little bit, sizing the
situation up. So she's really freaking out. Encourages the kids to all out run. She grabbed one of the smaller ones, held it, grabbed the other second smallest one, and drag it along. Basically, poor kids, they didn't understand what was going on, but she was panic stricken and getting them really moving. And the oldest one was capable and was staying ahead of them as they ran. So she gets
back to her grandma's house. She shuts and locks the windbreak door and then gets inside and shutting locks the inside door. She gets all the kids shuffled into the room. It's a two room cabin. The big main room is kitchen living room combined, and the second room is basically one big bedroom with three beds in it. She got the kids in there. There's two windows in there. They were up higher just above the ceiling, and down just I think she said there were two feet by four
feet windows on each wall in the corner. She got the kids to play a game of hide and go seek and get under the bed. She's trying not to panic, but she gets the kids under the bed. She makes sure the curtains are drawn, and she goes back out into the living room area. Right next to the door is their shotgun for bears. She grabs at she makes sure it's loaded, and then she retreats herself back into the bedroom. She heard, or she felt the footsteps of
this thing coming along. She jumped on the VHF radio real quick and made a call, Hey, so and so at Gram's house.
Anyone around just dead? Quiet on the air.
A few moments past and she hears movement outside, but she can't bring herself to look out the window because she's freaked out. She makes call again on a VHF radio, anyone around when I'm at my grandma's house, anyone around, basically making a call out to the village, and there was no response. She goes back into the bedroom with the kids and is trying to talk to them, discuss just random topics things to keep them calm because she
was feeling herself freaking out. She's heard something brushing against the by the front door, by the windbreak area, and she was listening really close. And now that she's holding the shotgun, the kids are like, is there a bear?
Is there a bear? Because that shotguns for bears.
Kids are smart, and she goes, yes, there was a bear and it was following us, and I don't want it to come in, so be quiet, so listen to draw its attention to us. Kids all immediately get under the bed. All three kids are under the bed. She peeks out past the little curtain that divides the two rooms. She's looking out into the living area. She doesn't see anything, but she notices looking out the curtain off to her
right hand side, which would be the kitchen side. She notices a shadow moving on the floor from the light coming in. That just told her that something's outside that window, moving back and forth. So she goes out of the bedroom, peeks around that corner, and by the time she got there, there was nothing in the window.
Immediately turns looks past.
The doorway to the window that was on the other side of the room, and there it was looking in at her. She said it had all black complexion, black beady eyes. She said the skin looked wrinkly, but she looked so quick and was so startled she didn't get a really good thorough look at it because this thing started growling. So she ran into that little room with the kids and slid under the bed with them, holding that shotgun pointing towards the opening between the two rooms,
freaking out. She said the growling was so terrifying because everyone could feel it in the floor as they were laying on their bed. Ellie's this thing was growling last died.
She said, she don't know how long, but she was trying to keep the kids from screaming because they were squealing every once in a while and as they were squealing, the growling, which she said, it didn't sound like it was moving from that one to almost like it found a place to look in at him, or something was trying to keep an eye out for him, is the feeling she got. After a little while passed, the kids were crying and stuff and really freaked out. She hears
the VHF radio. It was one of her relatives that had a rover that was upriver started calling back to her saying, we heard you. We just weren't able to get enough signal to reach you, but we heard you. She stuck under that bed and all she could do is listen to this. So she built up all her courage, gets out from underneath the bed, slowly peeks out the window. She doesn't notice it out the window that she'd just
seen it in a little while before. Grabs the VHF and says, there's a bear outside of Grandma's house.
I need help.
They said, we're on our way. However far away is going to be X amount of time day. Inside there's a shotgun all that stuff. She goes, I got the kids under the bed, I got the shotgun, and as she's on the VHF relaying this to one of her relatives there starts to thumping against the wall and it's a boom. I mean, it was shaking the whole place as she's just telling him, hey, I think it's trying to break in. It screamed outside. Blood crewing screamed. She
said she felt it through her whole body. The kids shrieked and squealed underneath the bed and were crying real loud. She basically dropped the vhf's little hand mike and retreated under the bed with the kids.
She said she sat there. She didn't even know how long.
She ran in there so quick because she had the shotgun leaning against the wall by the VHF radio. She left it there on her retreat and was too scared to get up and go get that shotgun. They basically stayed there. It wasn't until she heard human voices outside. She doesn't remember exactly how much later because she was crying herself the banging on the door and them saying open up, open up, and she recognized the voices. So she got up, came out, grabbed the shotgun on her way,
unlocked the doors and let them in. They were telling her, hey, we didn't see any sign of bear. There was a hairy man outside. What she saw was a hairy man, not a bear. She didn't want to say that in front of the kids. She didn't want to startle them or whatever. But now that the other adults came, they brought it up and so the kids were super freaked out. Nothing else happened during her trip there. She went back once since then, since she graduated college some years later.
She said her grandma's house is no longer there. There's a few other homes that were what she would call landmarks of the village that are no longer there. There were some newer hut homes and stuff like that, but she hasn't been back since that one trip. I want to thank Tina for reaching out because it was hard for her. It was the first time she shared it. I thank her for coming forward. I wanted to share with you. Comes from We'll just we'll call them Caleb.
Caleb.
He just got back from an attempted moose hunt. It was an attempted hunt because of what I'm going to share with you. He got a hold of me night before last when he called me, he had just gotten in from this experience and was pretty freaked out. So I had him explain what happened, and I had him called back after he calmed down a little bit, just so he didn't glass over any details, because a lot of people will get caught up and not remember everything immediately.
So after a couple of conversations he got back hold of me. Now what happened with Calebs is he borrowed his stepdad's four wheeler. He had been to the spot south of the Naley Highway once or twice, not far from Swede Lakes. It's a place of many encounters actually, so he went back in there and he went alone. He realized almost immediately the folly in that thought, that
wind of thinking of I could do everything alone. He was a younger guy, and he fully admitted he took on more than he could chew alone.
Stay tuned for more sasquatch out to sea. We'll be right back after these messages.
He drops down to the north fork of the Gulcana from that high ridge on the Sweet Lake side, which would be the north side of the north Ford. Once he gets down to the bottom that basically starts at shanty Town, he said there wasn't as many people there as he initially thought there was going to be. What he did is he crossed and started going out towards
the Alphabets. Now, he said, once he came up onto the upper Plateau from the little valley there, this little upper plateau, you know, well basically the Alphabet Mountains, which are a series of really high buttes. And he gets up in there and he decides he's going to wheeler back up to one of these buttes camp at the bottom of it, because the last time he was there he saw activity as far as game in that area.
He spotted a couple of bull moose from that perch, many Cariboo, and so he decided that's what he was going to do. He had it all figured out in his mind. So he gets back up in there. This is a journey that took multiple hours. It's not like he just unloaded and all of a sudden he was right there. No, it's quite a journey, multiple hours by four wheeler. The weather had been utter shit. He finally gets back up in there, he got himself a fire going.
It was just after dark. Once he got basically set up, he was just using a little two man pop tent. He was going light, just get in and out was his thought process. So he goes to bed that night after eating and tending to the fire a little bit where he was. It wasn't raining horribly hard, so he tried to set up the fire.
To where it would burn all night at.
Least to have some embers in the morning to rekindle the fire easily instead of fighting.
A bunch of wet wood. So he went to sleep.
He said, he doesn't know what time it was exactly when he first heard the initial noise that woke him up. He said it sounded like something big walking along the rocks near where he was, and it immediately woke him up because he was scared of bears. He sits up and he listens, and he tries to figure out what exactly he's hearing. So as he's sitting there thinking about it and trying to listen, he decides he grabs his flashlight. He's using a seven millimeter mag He unzips a tent
and goes out and starts beaming around. Doesn't see anything now when he steps out of the front of the tent. To his immediate right is the beginnings of this basically sheer drop from it's actually a wall beside him of rock, and to his left it drops down little steps like a declining rise, down to the alders and willows. So he looks off to the left. He sees nothing at first, and he's panning back and forth, and he could.
Hear a real low grunting. He said.
The grunting reminded him almost like an elk when it initially gets startled. But we don't have any elk cup here, at least not in that area.
Yeah.
I know there's some of the Roosevelt heard down southeast and whatnot, and some over by a Kodiak on Raspberry Island or whatever, none up here. So he's confused and he doesn't know what to make of it. So he figures, Okay, it must be a moose sound I've never heard. They're going into the rut. That's probably something along those lines. So he just he looks around a little bit. All right, you know what, I'm gonna rekindle this fire. Since i'm up anyway, I can get an earlier start than what
I was going to. So he gets a fire going, gets it nice and bright, and he's warming up some coffee and doing some various things getting ready. He has his rifle laying on the rear rack of the four wheeler, which is five feet from the fire, and as he's sitting there, he's resting, leaning back against the rack. He didn't want to hunt for his stump to sit on that he had put behind the tent under some tarps
so didn't get wet. As he was sitting there, just leaning against the rack and just be yawn and stretching, sipping on some coffee, he hears this grunt again. So he had his flashlight right beside him. He just immediately turns it on and starts beaming around, and initially he catches a little bit of eyeshine, and he said it was just the slightest, almost like as soon as.
The light hit the eye, it shielded its view.
He thought that was weird because typically you'd be him a moose or anything like that, we'll just look at you. But again he just chalked it up to a moose turning its head when he turned on the light. Now he goes back over the fire and he's stoking the fire, and he said, as he took about the second step from the wheeler and was just leaning over to add a piece of wood, he heard a.
Very low, guttural growl.
He said that the rocks he was standing on they were broken up and stuff almost shale light. He said he felt the growl in his feet when he felt that growl, he said, it was barely audible, but you could feel it. And so immediately he plunges back, grabs a hold of his rifle off the rear rack, and he starts beaming around again. This time he sees the eye shine again, but about fifty yards further away and just at the edge of the realistic use of his beam.
The lumens of his beam didn't have enough candela to penetrate the darkness enough to make out anything other than some eye shine. However, he did say that the eye shine was big. It was pretty wide set as far as the eyes. Again, it was at a distance. He couldn't say for sure how many inches of eyes were apart, but he knew he could tell it was large. He didn't realize how large until he got a little lighter,
And I'll explain that. So he's holding the rifle in the flashlight and he's yelling out, hey, hunter over here. He didn't know what he was dealing with, so in case it was another hunter coming through, he was just making it obvious like it wasn't. I mean, in his words, he had a tent, a fire, and a wheeler right there. Any other human would have recognize that and at least answered back nothing. The eye shine goes away, he hears some movement, just sits there and waits and kills the flashlight.
Keeps his back to the fire, and he's trying to acclimate his eyes to night vision better overall night vision, or at least low light vision. And as his eyes are adjusting, he hears movement, but it doesn't come in. It's at a distance. Always at a distance, he said, but it seemed to be the same distance, roughly fifty yards. As Caleb is sitting there pondering what he's gonna do, he keeps calling out periodically.
Hey, who's there hunter over here?
And he doesn't want to continue doing this because he wants to be ready, bright and early to potentially bag a moose that morning. And if he's sitting there yamoring and Jack and his jaw all night, it's gonna alert all the game around. Hey, there's a human over there, So he quiets down after a little bit and he decides, maybe I'm just gonna do my breakfast in the pouch thing, little Mr type deal, and then just pack up and do my hunt and get out of here.
So he's doing his little Mr.
E meail and he's eating it up on one of those stero burners. He's getting it all prepared and everything, and as he's dropping this stuff into his little pot, he's realizing that there's a smell and he thought it was like a bad It actually wasn't an MRI.
I apologize.
It was one of those freeze dried meals, So he thought it was something wrong with the meal, the prepackaged freeze dried meal. Because of the weird smell he was dealing with. He was like, gosh that and kept smelling it and it smelled fine, but then when he pulled his head away, he'd smell that odor. So he lets it do its thing, and he starts paying attention to the sounds because he was a little bit distracted getting breakfast going or whatever.
So as he's sitting.
There, he hears that low rumbling growl again, and this time it's a lot closer, he said, by time he could turn around and grab the flashlight off the ground. He heard three steps almost, he said. It had to have been within ten yards of him, and he should have been able to see whatever it was by how loud and how he felt the thumps in the ground. Meanwhile, this is simultaneous with that growl, he said. The growl continued as he backed up, turned on the flashlight and is wielding his rifle.
He sees nothing.
He backs off a little bit more because he's got that wall behind him, that sheer face of a cliff wall behind him. He's trying to determine what's coming near me, What is this thing doing?
What is it?
As he's doing so, his flashlight is starting to crap out on him. He needs to change the batteries, and now his night vision has been compromised by the flashlight being brighter than the fire because he had let the fire start to die down because he was going to be leaving soon and just use his little burner to heat up his meal. So now he's a crap. Let me get these batteries changed. So he's got the rifle across his lap and he's trying to put in new batteries.
He had first time he put one in upside down and had to fix it. Meanwhile, while he's fumbling and jumbling around, he hears this thing a little further away than what was initially the steps that went by with the growley, and he turns on the flashlight and he's not seeing anything. His heart, rated, he said, is jacked. Caleb's in his mid twenties, he's outdoorsman. He's been jogging, running all that stuff. So he could feel his blood pressure in his eyes. From what he said, he could
feel his heart beat in his eyes. His heart was pounding so hard. As he's beaming around, he catches a glint of the eye shine again about thirty yards away, off to his left hand side. Now, as he's looking at this eye shine, all of a sudden, this hllacious, loud, very high pitched. It was almost as high pitched as a tea kettle whistling, just super high pitched womanlike scream
coming right at him. He said it was so loud it hurt his ears so much so that he found himself trying to turn his head and put in one hand over his ear, trying to cut that ear and block it from the piercing noise. And as soon as that scream stopped, he said it lasted about twenty to twenty two seconds ish, something like that. As soon as that stopped, he heard the footsteps again, don't, don't, and
they were going away. He beams the light in that direction and notices a dark silhouette off in the distance moving away. So he finishes what he's doing. He's no longer hungry. He just dumps the meal out on the ground and gets the pot clean, shuts off the burner, starts letting it cool off, and he's slowly packing the stuff, keeping his eyes in the direction of that noise the silhouette he saw. Gets everything packed up, and very quickly
he rolled his tent up bungee corded around it. He didn't give a crap if it was packed right or not. Was latching everything down to the four wheeler real fast. Meanwhile, when he was going back and forth grabbing again, he went really light, so it's not like he had a whole crap ton to load up. But when he was going back and forth, each time he would kick more rocks and dirt on his fire to make sure it was getting smothered. He goes back over to the wheeler.
He's got the rifle in his lap, and he fires up the wheeler, getting ready to leave. And it's at this point where he said, starting to get light on the horizon. That light on the horizon made him calm down a little bit because he really didn't want a wheeler in the dark out of there, So he said
he sat still and waited on daylight. And once it got daylight enough for him to easily see the trail, but the trees were still silhouetted, he started his journey out of there, he said, when he was going down the trail, backtracking the way he came up, because he basically had to make his own trail from a lower trail to get up to that little rise, he said it was when he was going down that he had his rifle in a gun holder on the front rack
of the wheeler. As he was going down, he noticed something dark cross the trail in front of him, just out of the way of the little headlights on the four wheeler. He said, the headlights he had on it were crap, they barely worked, but he saw enough to see this dark thing cross the trail, so immediately he breaks he turns on his flashlight. He's beaming around and he sees nothing, so he's got his rifle out of
the rack. He's just sitting there, staring around into the darkness with the flashlight holding the rifle, looking for any movement, any sound of noise.
Nothing.
He sits down and continues to drive slow with one hand holding the rifle. It's a hard thing to do. He was freaking out. He wasn't sure what the hell was going on just yet. He'd been dealing with the high pitch scream. He'd been dealing with the noises of the grunts, the groans, the growls, the sounds of the footsteps. So he's really out of his element when he's dealing with this stuff. He also said that that smell that he initially smelled had not stopped. It continued from when
he was trying to make his meal. Taffrey dumped it out when he was getting everything going to get out of there. The smell, he said, was almost like it was following him. The smell itself was following him, like it stuck to him or something. He got down to the bottom of that trail where he had broken off from a lower trail, and he led a shot off in the air boom, just to make it known that he had no sooner he did that. He said, about sixty yards away, he heard thrashing running through the brush
like it was coming towards him. So immediately he racks another round in the rifle and points the flashlight in that direction. And he said, when he beamed in that direction, the movement coming towards him stopped. He's beaming over there. All of a sudden, the thing stood up and was looking at him, and he said, he just came through that brush, and he knew that brush was over his head by at least almost a foot. He was riding on the back of the wheeler at another foot of that.
So roughly the brush was about six foot tall. That's a rough guestimation. It's an approximate, it's not an exact, but this thing was three to four foot taller than that, looking at him, and he said it looked like it was a brownish black color, kind of grizzled, but he couldn't make out the face. All he could see was the eye shine.
He said.
The eye shine seemed to fluctuate between green and then red, which is odd normally, as one color or another but this seemed to fluctuate between green and red. And he's just staring and he's not knowing what to do. He's stuck in shock as he's beaming at this thing. He has the rifle, but he doesn't want to shoot, and this thing lets out another scream. He couldn't make out exactly what the teeth looked like. He could just tell it it was showing its teeth. But what it had
done was open its mouth real, real wide. He said, it looked like it disfigured its face when it opened its mouth to let out that high pitched scream again. He said, when it let out the high pitched scream, he immediately shot in the air again. And once he did that, he said, it dropped out of sight into the alders in the willows, and he heard it thrashing
and running away. And he said, once he heard it get to a satisfied distance for him to not focus on it, he turned around and hauled asked as quick as he could, as safely as he could out of there. He went back around, dropped back down towards the north fork of the Vulcana, and when he got down there by where the shantytown was starting. He asked a couple of people that were up and moving if they had heard the scream, and they said, yeah, they heard the scream.
He just continued and made his way out of there, and that was basically the end of what he dealt with. He asked me to ask anyone listening, if you were out that way and heard those screams, if you could contact me and I could put you in contact with Caleb. He would like to talk to you about the area and what he dealt with. That's what Caleb dealt with. He had a visual sighting this thing was within one hundred yards, his face deforming when it opened its mouth
really wide. He said, was creepier than the scream, because he said it almost looked like his face was imploding as that its mouth got wider. He said, it was the damnedest thing. So I want to thank Caleb for reaching out. He was still really freaked out when he called me. The hunters, beware, beware, while you're out there.
You never know.
It's so random in nature. Out of all the hunters out there, knows how many others had to deal with what Caleb did, But just be aware. I had to get to a quieter place up there by the little Susittina River, who was really loud with the rushing water and stuff.
Absolutely beautiful.
Just a great I want to share with you today comes from Simeon. Him and his wife. They were on the Susitna River. This was just days ago. He doesn't remember exactly where, but it would be upriver from Desk and all those places.
He said.
There wasn't any cabins around for a while where they were going. They were basically sightseeing with some relatives. So what had happened was the salmon weren't really running at this time. This was gosh, not quite a couple of weeks ago, so they were basically sightseeing and they banked on this part of the river and it looked like a well used trail that they assumed it was people using. And then once they got up there, they saw some
bear tracks and some other animal tracks. So Simeon retrieved the firearm from the skiff. Their relatives were sitting there, they were getting ready to eat lunch. They just sat in a skifty launch while him and his wife went and explored this game trail a little bit. They were walking what he said was approximately due west along this trail. Initially he said it was open grassy area with the game show cutting right through it back into some black
spruce and some willow alders. They got back through into the trees, and they told their relatives they wouldn't go very far. Simeon had a twelve gage. He slung it over his shoulder.
His wife was walking in.
Front of him so he could have eyes on her at all times. They pre arranged she would duck if a bear was coming or something, so she wasn't in a line of fire. All that kind of stuff they had pre planned. They're cutting through this trail. It's cutting back and forth in between the black spruce, so essentially they didn't have a wide open view in front of them because the trail was just cutting back and forth, had a zigzag to it as they were going through.
You know, it's a stick brush up against him that didn't quite match the surrounding area, but he thought none of it. They keep going as they're going around, coming into another clearing, he knows of what appeared to be the same stick brushing against him again, which he freely admits that he was not on top of his game as far as paying attention to his surroundings. He was watching the trail because there's a lot of exposed roots,
and he was stumbling and tripping a little bit. The second time he sees what he thought was the identical stick. He turns it looks and he sees nothing. There's a lot of thick brush. He couldn't really make out anything. He didn't see the stick that just brushed against him, and thought it was weird and left it alone. Him and his wife continued out into this clearing, which is an area of muskeg. They're sitting there talking for a
little bit. His wife was looking around basically was like, this is pretty and it's interesting.
I'm hungry.
Let's go back to the skiff. So they're on this trail back out and this trail is approximately one hundred yards and it's all zig zagging through this black spruce and little al there's lining the trail. He said it was really tight up against him. A couple of spots he had to turn sideways to get through there. And I know exactly the train he's talking about. As they're going back through. As they're going through this time, that same stick brushed against him again on his right hand side,
so going in it was on his left. Coming out, it brushed him on his right hand side.
He was what the hell?
So he stops and he gets his wife's attention, and she asked her, hey, you notice did he get brushed with a stick that doesn't seem.
To be there? And they're both confused.
She said, yeah, a couple times on the way in, and then again just a minute ago passing through the same area. So they stopped and he unslings the shotgun because everything was quiet, and so after he unslings the shotgun, he said he was trying to look through the trees and it was so dense with vegetation he couldn't really make anything out. And as he's looking back and forth,
his wife gets hit with a pine cone. Now, she was looking up when he turned back to look at her, and she's looking up for where the pinecone came from, and there was none on these particular spruce trees, and so she was like, did you throw a pine cone at me? And he said no, and.
Stay tuned for more sasquatch out to see, we'll be right back after these messages.
And as they're talking looking at each other, she gets hit right here centered chest with another pine cone that appeared to come from over Simeon's head. So she was looking at Simeon and her eyes got big, and so he turns around to see what she's seeing, and about fifteen feet behind them, the trail is zigzag, so it's on a dipper portion of the trail, but there's trees obscuring the trail that you know in a direct gliding sight, and they see this thing. All they could see is
pitch black, dark silhouette standing there, and it moved. Simeon said, it moved from his right to left and they couldn't see it anymore, and immediately they turned around and started high tailing it through the black spruce trail that they were on. He said, when they got to where it opened back up into the grassy area of the sawgrass next to the river, and it was a straight shot to the skiff, he stopped and turned around because he
could hear movement behind him going back and forth. They couldn't run really fast because it was really tight zigzags getting through there because the vegetation was so dense, and of course the tree roots and all that. It's a paint in the ass and they're jacked up on adrenaline. So when he gets to the clearing, his wife continues. He turns around because he had been hearing the crossing of the trail back behind him several times, crashing and breaking.
He heard a couple grunts, so he turns around, and he said immediately he was too scared to lip that shotgun because this thing was the same fifteen feet away, just inside. It didn't quite break free of the tree line. It was just inside, obscured partially by another black spruce tree. He said the fact that he saw it stop moving
was the only reason he knows noticed it. He said it was so seamlessly camouflage into its surroundings because of it, he said, when he got a better look at it, with more daylight on it, he said he could tell it had grizzled hair, like that grizzled color where you got a mixture of black, white, brown, gray, you know that kind of stuff, So it blended in seamlessly. He equated it similarly to a spruce chicken or a spruce grasp.
So he's looking right at it, he said, he could see the face, but it was almost like a tanned leather, a dark tanned leather looked to it. He couldn't make out a whole lot of detail because he said he was freaking out. He said, there's no hair around the eyes, in the nose area, and around the mouth. He said, what really stood out to him is the look in this thing's eyes. He said that the eyes were black, but there was a glimmer to them from the daylight.
Light in the eyes, so to speak. He said he wasn't quite sure what its intention was, but he didn't feel like it was anything good. I asked him, how tall do you think it was? Simeon was not good with sizes, so he said it could have been anywhere from eight to ten foot tall, maybe a little taller, but he wasn't really good about that. As he's sitting here staring at this thing in eye contempt, he said, it it was like slow motion. It seemed like it
was taking forever for this to happen. His wife had already made it back to the skiff, screaming for help from their other relatives. They had three other people on the skiff, two males won female. They didn't want to give names of the people, and Simeon didn't want to share.
His wife's name. We'll just leave that aloone.
But one of the males grabbed their gun and came running back up to trail, and Simeon could hear the approach from behind as he's got his eyes fixed on this thing. The person running up behind him came and got off of his left shoulder and is looking at it too, And that's when the thing got aggressive, broke the tree that it was standing next to and flung it over their heads past them like a warning, don't
be rushing me mode or vibe. It put off and it's looked at them both sized and bolt up and just made a grunt sound and then just backed away from them, almost like it was floating, he said. And then it just moved off into the brush and just immediately disappeared because of its coloring. Then they turned around once it was out of you, and they I tell them back to the skiff and they got out of there again. This just happened a little over a week ago,
something like that. I've only had a chance to talk to him a couple times, seeming. If you're watching this and I left anything out, I don't believe I did. Because of all the other stuff we talked about as far as the skip riding and stuff. You know, as we talked about, it doesn't pertain to the actual encounter. So they retreat out of there. They get back to the skiff. The others in the skiff not to laugh,
because me and Simmy laughed about it too. They had already untied from the shore and they were idling in the channel. So they get Today's and they're like, hey, you know, get back over here or whatever, and so they pull back up and they jump on. Simeon's wife is just going on about what the hell, what the hell was that thing. Once they were in the skip and they were taking off back down river, they got
to a little sandbar place. Simeon had his relative beach up on that sandbar or gravel bar just to catch his breath and tell everyone what happened and explain to it to everybody. And he explained to them about the harry Man, and he thought it was just folklore from the past and just a way to keep control over kids and women found out differently that day. He like a lot of people are now on our journey to
figure out more, which is understandable. There's so many unanswered questions and so many theories out there, damn good theories. But until we have something a little more solid, it's going to be very difficult. I'm going to thank Simeon for reaching out. He didn't really want to share because he didn't think there was much to it, But I mean, there's plenty to it. This thing was using a stick to brush against them to get their attention, which is odd.
Normally you would hear that there'd be an aggressive making noises to alert the people coming to scare them out of the area. And just the fact that it was using a stick to kind of mess with them, it's contriguing in itself. Was it being playful? I had no clue me personally, I don't trust these things for nothing. I asked him, did you feel like shooting? He said, I had slugs in the shotgun and I did not feel I will do enough with it in order to make it worthwhile.
What's this fair enough?
I've talked to people holding three thirty eight when mags that they wouldn't even contemplate clicking the safety off, So I get it. I'm gonna thank Simeon. I'm wanna thank his wife. She gave me her perspective on the thing, but it's identical to Simeon's outside of when she was looking past him. It seemed like the thing just purposely came right into view over his shoulder to where they made eye contact as she gave the same description Vacimia said.
The eyes were black and beady, wide set. The nose was flat to the face again that dark tan leathered look. The hair wasn't around the actual face. In the mouth area, it looked like it had a protruding mouth. He was just giving the description again. I want to thank him. I want to thank you guys for joining me. We'll catch you guys on the next one.
They say you don't gotta go home, but you can't stay.
I don't want to be. We're all out there.
Chod, this chid, that child.
Everything came right back, right back, Joy for me.
Joy staying right. You come it right away, still step step steps.
Down, knocking down dots, still STASSSS
