Drop your name every other comedian, but you, I'm gonna tell you why because I'm that dude. I'm gonna tell you why because you can't say this dude isn't funny.
I'm gonna tell you why because he can't question my character. I'll tell you why because I have a resume that goes back thirty two years where I'm one of the only black comics, has been a part of some of the biggest pop cultural shows in the last twenty three twenty five years. I'll tell you why because I played a voice in The People Seen and Dixar, I mean Disney's, Pixar's not Oscar nominated film The Soul. I'll tell you why.
After thirty two years of doing comedy. Every year, I'm getting better, I'm getting stronger, I'm just doing it. And the last, but not least, is that he knows I bring heat on that stage. And that's the reason why you will never hear Kat Williams say anything derogatory about me. And I'm not saying that in the crazy way. But everything I said, as y'all say, check the facts, I had to receipt and there's
no light detected. And that's why Kat Williams won't say anything. Yeah, what do you what do you feel about like the names that he did name and calling them joke stealers, et cetera. What I do know that that that that is something that is that is something that happens in the comedy world, and they use it. I mean the under the underlining rule that they say, it's not your joke until you put it on TV. And that's where a lot of a lot, a lot of discomfort and misunderstanding come from.
I also know sometimes usually when it's a joke that people are stealing, it's a joke that's still a bull. It is a premise that everybody can hit. There was an argument about Steve Harvey, Markcerrey. He stole my poor person Halloween joke. I got a poor person Halloween joke. It's almost like Oprah Wiffrey Daz has a part of it. He has one. Everybody has a poor Halloween joke, you know. And I used to get upset about that. But me, I don't. I used to. I used
to step the dudes. I used to. I didn't gotta fights over. I stepped through it. That's the only way I could sell it. But the one thing that made me do is like, you know what, since they want to be in my pocket, I'm gonna make my pocket so fat they can't reach out and get everything. And I'm gonna have jokes that's reflective of me and my life. You can steal my joke about Halloween. You can steal my joke about John de Mazis, but you can't steal my life.
So the more you put your life on stage, they can't take that. So you know, and you'll go crazy in this business. I've been in it. I probably wasted two years of my career beef with people about stealing jokes. But what I said was, here's the thing. The biggest joke writers in Hollywood, they don't get paid off one joke. They get paid because they got jokes and jokes and jokes and jokes and jokes and jokes
and jokes. And that's what I got. I did a show. When I do shows, sometimes they call it being courteous to your headliner, when you find out what they want to talk about or what they want to stay, what they want you to stay away from. A young comic said, you know, I got this so and so Joe. If you want to stay away from me, I said, man, I could dead everything you talk about, not even touch that. It's still rocker hour beat it right, Yeah, I do. I definitely hear that, brother and I know
you got an hour long special hitting Netflix like you mentioned. Uh, we say, we see that Dave Chappelle is gonna be an executive producer in this thing. And this is your first one, your first time dropping a whole hour special donell. Now this is this special and it's like if I'm probably about forty five minutes. This is part of Dave Chappelle's Home Team joint where he did want with Lunell Talk and he did it with myself. You know
this is and then he did this. He's the executive producer. This is my first special and my first special with Netflix. Davis executive producer of this, so it's coming under his umbrella. But I already had before Dave came to be a part of I had a deal already with Netflix. They wanted to work with me with or without Dave's assistance. But me, being the business person I am, I say, you know what, I'm gonna get
a certain amount of money if I do it on my own. But if I come behind Dave and he supports it and he helps me with this, then I probably could quite droople the money that I was gonna get. So that was part of the play. It's probably gonna be forty minutes set. I think it's gonna be a great introduction. People haven't seen me do more than like ten or fifteen minutes on stand up on any platform. The latest
was fing around with Snoop Dogg. I did that. It was Mike Epps, it was Cat Williams, it was Joe Tory, I mean, god Tori. It was Melanie Camacho. And I'll let you guys be to judge on it. everything. But I've always been a person. I never really had too many relationships for comedians. Always been a guy that about the audience more than anything. And if anybody wants to be for me or question me or anything, just come to a show. And then you know, let let I say, let your work speak for itself. And I know for a fact a lot of folks can come check you out this week because you're gonna be out there at Cobs in the city, right, yes, sir, Now,
what what are the times you're gonna be out there? Man? I know you're gonna be hitting us up. I believe Friday is your first one Friday, two shows Friday, two shows Saturday, one show on Sunday. I yes, say, I just did a special. So part of my Chidren right now is going back to the drawing board, you know, just getting some new stuff, getting excited about different premises and having a good time.
You know, It's not like I treat it like an open micro anything, but it's gonna be me testing new stuff out and just connected with the audience and and just and bringing heat. And I'm not like everything I'm saying. If somebody hasn't seen me do stand up, they'd be like, oh, this can keep talking trash. But if anybody else seen me do stand up, they will say that everything that I'm saying, and with my confidence on what I'm doing stage is definitely validated. No, I definitely feel that.
