But coming up today on the show, we're going to talk about all the movings and shakings, the happenings, the new roster, and we'll talk a little bit about the summer league that's happening, and how some of you people out there have got to pump the brakes on the freakin' summer league. Okay, first and foremost, it's the summer league, all right. You guys are the same ones that go into a YMCA Rec game thinking it's the NBA Finals. Okay, calm down,

it's the summer league. It ain't really much to put into It's nice to watch other players try to battle for a position or a spot, maybe in the Spurs G League or somewhere else. All these Spurs players are not going to be Spurs this year. They're not going to be Spurs probably even in the G League. These guys are trying for a roster spot in the NBA. So pump your proverbial breaks, right, Spurs fans us true

Spurs fans out there, understand what's going on. Some of y'all are getting upset that Carter Bryant's only scoring six points and doing this, that and the other. Thing. You need to look at the silver lining, and that's why this podcast is different from everybody else. We give you that homer value feel, but we're also gonna tell it like it is. We're gonna tell you if we're gonna suck.

We're gonna tell you if this is gonna happen. We're gonna tell you if these picks that the Spurs got are gonna turn out to be something big from our personal feeling and also what some of the so called so called experts around the NBA say, because keep in mind,

you got to put the label so called. And I don't care how long you've been in basketball, how long you've been watching basketball, if you played basketball, if you've been a coach, if you've decided to be the water boy for thirty years, it doesn't matter if you've been around the sport. We're all so called experts. And that's the first thing I will let you, guys know. Take what I say for a grain of salt, have a little fun on the show. But this is for the fans.

I'm gonna tell it like it is and first and foremost, so let's talk a little bit about what's going on with the San Antonio Spurs and some of these trades and releases that we have seen. Now, let's talk about the biggest trade that the Spurs did. They went out and got Luke Cornett. A lot of you guys are out there going, we're not going after Gianness. We're not going after an NBA all start. No, they don't fit. They don't fit. Is it cool to talk about it? Sure,

it's fun. It's awesome. Wimby and Yannis this then and the other thing. I'm gonna tell you something right now. And if you're a Houston fan out there, you're not gonna like this. I think Kevin Durant's a bad trade for you guys. Why a y'all laughing at me. That's for the Houston fan, by the way, I think the Houston trade for Kevin Durant is bad. You guys now have lost Jalen Green, You've lost Dylan Brooks. You've lost some key pieces to this team. You were right on

the precipice right there. You were picked by us last year to be in that number three seed. You got number two. I think you guys fall to the four seed this year. And we'll talk a little bit about the Western Conference odds here in this episode as well. According to CBS Sports, Avery Johnson and crew over at CBS, we'll talk a little bit about what they had to say on their latest program as well, where the Spurs are gonna be and what they're going to do. But

let's talk about Luke Cornett. Let's talk about a guy that's been around the league, that has been from team to team. This is like a six or seven team, And don't knock that. That doesn't mean he's not a good player. Guess what, he's bringing a championship to this team. He has a ring. Keep that in mind. He has experience. Yes, we lost Chris Paul, but Chris Paul did his job in San Antonio and his mark will be forever left here.

Look at Steph Castle. I believe Chris Paul took Steph Castle under his wing last year when it should have been probably Victor women Yama until he got hurt. Now it's Steph Castle. Now Steph Castle is going to pass that knowledge on to the likes of Dylan Harper. This core here in San Antonio. We've discussed this a million times.

Is scary, guys, This is scary good. Dylan Harper is projicted to be a possible generational talent as well, and for the Spurs to have an opportunity to have three generational talents, it kind of reminds me of the defending champs right now. OKC Sga chat Holmgren, also Jalen Williams on that team, those three big boys right now. My goodness, those three guys got paid as well. They got their rookie extensions over two hundred and fifty million dollars each.

OKC is betting on their Big three by paying almost a billion dollars A billion dollars, as doctor Evil would say from Austin Powers, but he didn't say a billion. He was an idiot. If they're willing to bet on their big three, what do you think the Spurs are doing? They're developing that and we've got to be patient. Guys. You're automatic wanting to jump into the championship title scenario. The West is loaded. We need to do it the

Spurs way. And if my Spurs fans and real Spurs fans are out there, you're gonna give me a hallelujah a man. After this statement, Luke Cornett and Kelly Olnik were good picks for the Spurs. I'm gonna tell you why. First and foremost, the young generation. You have no clue. I love y'all, but you have no clue. You want to go out and spend as much money as you possibly can on the coolest, fastest item that there is. Check out your video game systems. I want the PlayStation

five and pay it for seven hundred dollars. I want to go out and buy a brand new car at forty thousand dollars when I make only thirteen dollars an hour at McDonald's. Right, you want it fast, you want it now. You want it shiny. So you want the Janis aka Patumbo's. You want the Kevin Durantz, you want those big name guys. Some of you on X right now are really high on Trey Murphy Junior. You're really high on Trey Murphy. Pump the brakes. He had one

great season. So you're to tell me you're willing to pay all that money and then all of a sudden they come to a team and they flop, and what are you gonna do. You're gonna throw them underneath the bus. Those are not fair Those are not real Spurs fans. You're fair weather fans. You are Internet troll fans. That's all you are. And I'm okay with that. You know, as long as you're a fan, I'm cool with that.

All right, But in all honesty, let me tell you why Luke Cornett and Kelly Olnik were good signings and what I think the Spurs are gonna do this weird year with Victor wen Binyama. Victor's gonna turn into your Yannis guys. As much as everybody wanted to put him in the low post and everybody's saying put him a center, he's got to learn how to play like a Kam and Patrick and David and Tim Duncan. No. I think he's more r Yanis than he is those players. I

believe that he's developing his outside shot even more. And who's going to guard a seven to four guy taking you off the dribble at the top of the key or stepping back and draining threes. We have seen this already through one hundred plus games. And by the way, you want a little side note about Victor Wembinyama, he has made more three pointers than Steph Curry through his first hundred games. He has scored more points than Lebron

James in his first one hundred games. He has more blocks than a chem olaj One in his first hundred games. Don't believe me, go look up the stats. Victor Wembanyama will be the unicorn. He will be that dude, and now they're surrounding him with other dudes. You're Daron Fox's, You're Carter Bryants, who will talk about we're forgetting about the big three that was here so hand Johnson Vissell. Those boys are gonna have a decent year this year.

I believe dv is gonna have an awesome year. He's gonna be that snake in the grass just lurking and every night he's hitting for about twenty I truly mean that. Dylan Harper, I believe he will do well. He'll be in the Rookie of the Year talks, but I don't know if he's gonna get a lot of shots. I don't see that. It's a different scenario now this year. Last year, Steph Castle had to grow up fast because

Victor got hurt. Victor's back, Dearan's back. I know I'm stating the obvious, but sometimes to us Spurs fans and some of you Spurs fans out there, I have to break it down like a small child again to make you understand what we have and why the additions of Luke Cornett and Kelly Olinik are huge. These guys are gonna do that dirt. They're gonna do that dirty work, the rebounding, the putbacks. Victor doesn't have to bruise and battle himself constantly underneath to be that seven to four guy.

He's a different animal. When will we see that? Spurs fans? He is a different animal. He will change the game. A seven to four I'm calling it power forward that can play like maybe a six' nine six'.
