Episode 3: Exploring Materials for Bondage and Gags

Welcome back to Sam's Podcast, the space where we explore the intricate world of bondage, trust, and intimacy. I’m your host, Sam Serenity, and I’m so excited to have you join me on this journey. In this episode I will talk about materials that can be used for bondage. I'm sure that most of them are well known but maybe I can surprise you with one or two that you hadn't in mind. So lets start right away.

Of course I will start with the material that I use most of the time and which is my all time favorite... Tape...

At the beginning let me say, tape is a very devierse material. There are so many types of tape out there. I think I used a lot but definitely not all kinds. The most common one is Duct Tape. It is used by TV and movie producers to gag the damsel in distress. Of course we all know that a single stripe is very beautiful but doesn't work at all when it comes to shutting someone really up. Only

way to make it work as a gag is to wrap it arround the head multiple times and put a stuffing in the mouth first. That will definitely work. For bondage itself it works good when its wrapped like the gag. But its not inescapable. The advantage for daily use is also its weakest spot. It can be ripped easily by hand and so it can be ripped when you use enough force and the right angle. When it comes to the glue it is not the stronges tape out there. I would give it a

6 out of 10. Of course some brands stick more and some less. The next to talk about and my favorite for gags and bondage is PVC Tape or sometimes called Vinyl Tape or Dancefloor Tape. It comes in many many colors and comes to its stickiness its an 8 out of 10. It needs a bit more force to get ripped from the roll and this makes it very escape proof. When its wrapped I would say nealry inescapable. When you use

it for a wrapped gag be warned that it will hurt your hair at the removal. Always wind it back, never cut it or you will loose some hair strains. A special purpose I use it for is to tape wrap my fists. The PVC Tape streches a bit, so you can shape it to your fists and it looks very sexy. And let me tell you one thing. You will not come out of this tape mittens without help. Packing tape, this brown, thin tape that smells so strong but always reminds me on my first selfbondage experiments. The

stickiness is only a 2 out of 10 but you can wrap it in so many layers that is also kind if escape proof. Not because it sticks well on the skin but it sticks on itself when layered and it can't be ripped by hand. So when used for mummification you have an inescapable cocoon where you can move inside because the sweat loosend any glue. The next Tape I love to use is medical Microfoam Tape. Well it is not that sticky. maybe a 6 out of 10 but it has this

amazing advantage. It streches a lot. So when you try to talk and move your lips ot moves and streches with you. So the glue does't comes loose like when you would to this with Duct Tape. The result is that one single stripe is enough to shut someone up as long there is a stuffing under it. Some Models out there showed that it is also great for mummification bondage but its so expansive that I haven't tried that yet.

At least I will speak about some tapes that I use from time to time but summarize a bit that this chapter wont get too long. Tegaderm tape is also a medical tape. Its clear and its stickiness and stretch are comparable with microfoam tape. I use it for gags sometimes. Leather tape is meant for repairing your couch, so the glue is really sticky and it looks fantastic. Also a tape I use for gags. Last but not least there is Aluminium Tape. Sticks great and looks amazing but be careful.

It has very sharp edges and you cut yourself very bad. I'm sure I missed some tape, so leave a comment and let me know. After all this tape let us talk about one of the cruelest way to tie someone up... Zipties...

Yes, that is the sound that gives me goosebumps. Not because I'm afraid. I love them. Funny when I hear this sound in public. It gives me kinky feelings everytime. Of course the zipties you use for cable management for example isn't very escape proof. One hard push and they are gone. But there are heavy long ziptues where you will definitely not came out of without help. And that is the major warning point. Don't play with them alone. And don't use them on your neck or single wrists or ankles.

You will cut off the air or bloodflow and you can do serious harm. And when too tight they will leave you some nice marks on your body. Lets switch to something more classic and elegant. Rope...

Rope is the material most people associate with bondage. It used for traditional shibari and is an art. I love a good picture of a suspended girl, roped with clean knot work. So beautiful. For this kind of bondage the rope is a natural color hemp rope which is oiled to make it last longer. But there are lots of other, more beginner friendly ropes, They are a bit thicker and mostly have a soul inside. But either if you use the classic or the modern rope, you have to be carefull.

Like zipties you can do much harm to your body and worth. As it comes to suspension you also have to take care for the suspension points. They must be safe adn should hold double the weight of the person hanging on them. For me rope is a sometimes use. I like it but to be honest, I like the other materials more. Speaking of other material.

Leather belts are an fantastic and beginner frindly tool to tie someone up. Of course you can do harm but it needs much force for it and you will definitely notice it on the sound the tied person does when you overtighten it. And a belt is something most people have at home. Its long enought to tie the wrists and ankles together. So a good start for a little play with your vanilla partner maybe... From Belts a solid tool I will change to something stretchy and soft. Yes, Plastic Wrap...

Plastic Wrap is an so incredible material. Its soft, it streches and on the other hand it will leave you no chance of an escape adn you will sweat massivle. Of course. A single layer won't do the trick. You have to wrap it multiple times but that makes the process even better. Some sorts can be heated up and will shrink to make the cocoon even tighter. As you will know, for me it is the ideal material for a mummification. Sometimes as standalone and sometimes as foundation for tape.

Either way. Playing with plastic wrap is a thing I enjoy so much. There are different types. Clear saran wrap you will find in you kitchen, for example. Or black heavy pallet wrap which is normally used to secure goods for freight. Have I mentioned that a pallet wrapping machine is number one on my wishlist? Oh dear, what I could do with it. The day will come when i find an effortable one or let me build one. Now I'm excited. Let us quickly change the material...

Hell Yeah... Cuffs. Everybody loves the scenes where the attractive female is arrested by the police and placed in handcuffs behind her back. Amazing. For me it is the corrupt secretary in a shiny satin blouse and high heels, put in cuffs that wanne make me... you know what I mean... Cuffs come in many different colors and options. The standard are the one with a small chain in between, A longer chain

when it comes to ankle cuffs. For me I love the restrict feeling of hinged handcuffs. The arms are forced back more and the feeling of not beeing able to escape is even stronger. I always have a pair with me when travelling. Of course that wasn't every material on earth but that are the most common ones I use. There will be another episode in the future which will cover gear and furniture. And maybe things you wont think of when thinking of bondage...
