MAZES AND MONSTERS with Meika Grimm (Part 1)

You're going to want to bring out the 20 sided dice, blacklights, and Mountain Dew for this one. We're staying in the year 1982, but after a string of teenage wasteland themed episodes, it's time to get back to the show's roots. That right! Horror! Specifically the Tom Hanks led film Mazes and Monsters, also starring Wendy Crewson and Chris Makepeace.

Joining Sam today is TableCakes own Meika Grimm, editor of this very podcast. She has also edited a number of our sister podcasts, including Smart Mouth. She is an L.A. based digital creator, musician, and audio/video engineer. 

Our film follows 4 college aged kids from New York who have formed a bond around a fantasy table top board game loosely based on Dungeons & Dragons. When the group decide to take the game into the local caves to add an extra level of excitement to the adventure, it leads to one of them going missing and the rest wondering what is real and what is fantasy. You will definitely want to watch this one, if only for the amazing 80's sweaters on display.
