Sailing Stories: A Ghost Emerges From Sailing’s Past

Nearly 130 years ago, the 191-foot schooner barge Ironton collided with the freighter Ohio in a section of Lake Huron known as Shipwreck Alley. The accident sank both ships and killed five of the Ironton’s seven crew.
