In Genesis chapter 1 verse 26, the Bible says, and God said, Let us make man in our image after our likeness. In Genesis chapter 2 verse 7, the Bible says, and the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into His nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul. We have the image of God which is a very highest, and we have dust of the
ground which is the loist. By placing His image in the dust of the ground, the material from which Adam was made, God teaches us a very, very significant lesson about himself, and that is, it is always God's desire to lift, to elevate, never, to debase. Let me say that again, God's desire for you, my listening friend, is still listening to elevate every area of your life beginning, of course, in the moral area. Despite sin, that great catastrophe, it is still God's
desire to elevate you and me. We read in Hebrews 12 verse 10, we might be partakers of His holiness. We read in 2 Peter chapter 1 verse 4, we should be partakers of the divine nature, and we read in Philippians 2 verse 5, this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus. The introduction of sin did not lower God's standards for His creation. He desires us now, still to have His mind, His holiness, and His part-devine nature. We should connect.
I should say to that divine nature, God's desire for you, and I speak to you individually, is to elicit your life. Beginning with the moral area of your life, and then every other area will follow. Let us make man in our image as you keep the Sabbath holy. Remember, you are worshiping a creator whose original desire, and that desire existed day, is to elicit His creation continuously, continuously, because you and I can never reach absolute perfection the way God is,
but we can grow and grow and grow. By listening friend, as you keep the Sabbath holy a day on which you and I commemorate creation, and give glory on honor to God. Let us remember, by placing our lives in the hand of God, we place our lives in the hand of someone whose desire, whose yearning for us is to elevate us, to lift our lives. Middle or bless you as you keep the Sabbath holy, and may He place a double blessing on your lovely children. Happy Sabbath.
