Rubber Stamped Mixes - podcast cover

Rubber Stamped Mixes

Rubber’s sets are all about versatility, he is equally at home dropping an Afro Tech club set, Beach / Sunset House vibes, Disco, Funk, Soulful House, Progressive / Trance or some fat Breakbeats plus he loves Drum and Bass. No matter what genre he is playing you will not find anything minimal, it is all about the melody and soul, hence his Slammin, Melodic, Electronic Music tagline. Nobody is going to get short changed either on set length on his watch. Rubber is renowned for journey sets with an average set being 3-4 and upto a record 9 hours long.

Currently in Dubai, previously London Matt Rubin aka Rubber has always loved his tunes. In London he ran his own JamBasha parties and rooms in association with House Music Heavyweights Kinky Malinki. In Dubai Matt had a residency at Fratelli and played regularly with Radio 1s / Hollaphonic’s Greg Stainer. Now with 3 kids and various sporting engagements live sets are limited. My gift back to everyone that loves their tunes is a regular podcast that spans the genres of decent electronic music.

DJ's, Groups and Tours Supported: Nick Warren, Bobby & Steve, Sebastian Ingrosso, K-Klass, Hoxton Whores, George Morel, CJ Mackintosh, Greg Stainer, Ian Carey, Choci, Drumattic Twins, Blank and Jones, Mische Daniels, Gordon Edge, Shades of Rhythm, Abigail Bailey, Raymundo Rogriguez, Graham Sahara, James Jackson, Mark Robinson, Grant Richards, Andy Ward, Dale Hooks, DJ Blush, Mark Dynamix, The Persuaders, Jamie Lee Wilson, DJ Flex, Afroboogie, Tom Craft, Stoneface & Terminal, Tocadisco and more...

I only buy AIFFS and I have started keeping my WAV recordings (96,000hz 32-bit) of my mixes which i then rip to flac for playing in HD at home. These are 2-4GB a pop but if anyone wants to listen in HD then contact me on matt_rubin@yahoo.com.

Enjoy the music! Big Love Rubber

You will find tunes from amongst others Sebastian Leger, Guy Gerber, Nick Muir, John Digweed, Alex Kenji, King Unique and Tom Craft who I warmed up for last summer at Fratelli club. #43 Rubber Stamped Main Room House - September 2010 - Everything To Lose

Happy September People. I don't know where the summer has gone as usual.... Big up Sandy, Stoffel, Hartty, Lisa, Chants, Mr Pig and all the desert camping crew from last weekend. One of the good things about living in Dubai is that we now have 9 months of beautiful weather to look forward to and getting 25 of us into the desert with booze and tunes is a big part of that. I've been useless on the production front, would be so much easier if I was able to spend some time with the JamBasha crew Ada...

As I have just launched my new website I thought it would be a good idea to add another mix to keep people logging onso I have done a Deep Tech mix. #38 Rubber Stamped Progressive Tech House - July 2010 - Absinthe

This is my 3rd mix in 3 weeks! I think i have rediscovered my musical passion...... I just need to buy an Maudio keyboard and I can start my production mission. To follow my trance and breaks mixes I have done a 100minute deep, progressive, techy, house mashup. I am thoroughly loving Traktor Scratch Pro and not having to burn loads of new CD's each week. #37 Rubber Stamped Drum and Bass - July 2010 - Judgement Day

To follow my recent trance, breakbeat and house mixes, I thought it was about time for another jazzy, soulful, rolling, funky drum and bass one. Judgement Day is more chilled than my previous Drum and Bass mixes Sick Music and Everything's Different as the main room bangers i bought to make these mixes are just not being written at the moment. It is however really flowing and rolling and I have treated you to over 2hrs worth so it is perfect for a car journey or the like. I am sure I will be cra...

#36 Rubber Stamped Breaks - June 2010 - Only You

The inspiration for this mid month mix came from Jambasha's very own Spanish DJ and Producer Chevy One. Chevy has just completed a fat remix of a tune called Only you on Lot 49 records for Meat Katie and Dylan Rhymes feat. Iconical. The tune is front page in the beatport breakbeat charts..... If you are producing tunes then the front page of beatport is holy ground and where you want to be on a regular basis. Big respect to Chevy One for the tune I play it 2nd to last tune from the end. Please s...

#35 Rubber Stamped Trance - June 2010 - Live Forever

Hello People, how are you doing? I hope you are all having a brilliant start to the summer whatever country you are in. I can't believe it is June already roll on Glasto and the Big Chill. To be honest I've been lacking inspiration for music over the last 6 weeks which is not normal for me. In order to combat this, I listened to the Above and Beyond podcast at full blast in my car then spent a few hours record shopping on Beatport solely for progressive, uplifting and trancier cuts of music. You...

#33 Rubber Stamped Live - April 2010 - @ Ibiza White and Gold Party

This is a 4 and half hour set recorded live from the Ibiza White and Golf Rooftop Party. What an amazing vibe we created with around 200 people. Most seemed to be on the dancefloor and it was totally going off. I myself was very drunk by the end. So much so when 1 of my tunes ran out after i had been for a toilet stop I thought my neighbours Rob and Chrissy had put the 80s filler music on, on purpose...... I also managed to play about 3 tunes twice by accident. My MP3 player only records for 2 h...

#25 Rubber Stamped Progressive Tech Deep House - December 2009 - Off Topic

Hello Everyone I hope you are having a great month. I can't believe that it is nearly Christmas already, I just don't know where the year goes. I looked at the webstats today and I have had an unbelievable 8500 downloads since the site was launched back in May. My mix this month is a slightly different vibe to November. It is more of a warm up set with deeper, techy rolling sounds with a sprinkle of more progressive tunes at the end. Danny Howells was my inspiration for this mix. For those of yo...

#24 Rubber Stamped House - November 2009 - How Soon is Now

Working out where to start with my November Rubber Stamped was somewhat difficult. From a personal perspective alongside playing with Nick Warren and recording Rubber Stamped August 2009 Sick Music (my Jazzy, Soulful Drum and Bass mix) my October Rubber Stamped was one of my favourites yet. Nevertheless I managed to get my arse onto beatport.com and bought 14 tunes brand new today. 12 were new to me but I had been aware of 2 of them for 4 or 5 months but until today they had not been released. #23 Rubber Stamped Progressive House - October 2009 - Ultraviolet

How this October mix happened was a real surprise! One minute I was bored at home playing Tiger Woods Golf and the next I was on Beatport.com searching for some fresh tunes to add to a few I had already. Before I knew it, I was in the mix and Rubber Stamped October 2009 Ultraviolet was born. Ultraviolet is a mix of tech and progessive house with a chillout tune chucked in at the beginning, a progessive breakz tune in the middle and an uplifting main room banger at the end. It also includes some ...

#22 Rubber Stamped Progressive House - September 2009 - The World We Knew Is Gone

I had enough new tunes in my crate after making my breaks mix a couple of days ago so I decided to record a new house/progressive/club mix as well. Hope you enjoy it as much as Sandy and I enjoyed this weekend gone. We just had a blinding time on the piss at a boat party and at the water park with Mr 4 Dex and a Sax himself Mikey Mattacola. It's all about the Ravanelli or the Simon Cowell..... Big Up Scottinho all of our thoughts are with you fella

#21 Rubber Stamped Breaks - September 2009 - Ghetto Funk

I have always loved my Breaks and in the early days Big Beat. I remember the trips to the beach club in Brighton for Fat Boy Slim's Big Beat Boutique. A Plump Night Out and The Stanton Session were two albums I bought and how the Plumps and Stantons moved onwards and upwards from there.... Other artists that have inspired me in this genre are Rogue Element, Krafty Cuts, A-Skillz, Vandal, General MIDI, Dan Magnan and the Drumattic Twins who rocked one of our best ever Jambasha parties. This won't...

#19 Trance - Unforgivable - Jul09

This mix includes many of the tunes I used in my warm up set at Club Fratelli for the visit of German Trance Legends Stoneface and Terminal and Ronski Speed. These both were classic nights at Fratelli Club with the crowd going off right from the start of the night. I will not forget either of these sets and have to say I loved my 2nd and 3rd trance sets just as much as my first with Blank and Jones
