I don't know if this is an unpopular opinion, but I think 9 times out of 10, that animal crossing your path is random. Those numbers may just be random. I think we're too quick to call random occurrences signs just because it's what we want. Deities and other spirits have many ways of communicating with us. Signs and omens can -- and do -- happen, just not as often as the internet might have you believe.
