Romancing the Dungeon is a softcore DND podcast about heroes navigating their daily lives while looking for love in a world full of peril, monsters, and heartbreakers. This show is intended for mature audiences as it contains adult themes who are the best but not the softcore thirst. Oh, what's that point? Content warnings for specific episodes can be found in the episode description. So my bad, but I didn't listen to the last episode, could
somebody catch me up? Just think of hot bath, a warm meal. Think warm thoughts. The first thought that pops into Fiya's head when she hears warm bath is when she first met AJ. Yes. You're most welcome to Bed Bath and Beholder. I'm CC. This is CC. I really, really don't remember. I I never thought I was. Up. Near Gale Shire before. Oh, you were probably still a baby, sweetheart, that's all you just hear a voice call out via via. We have to get up. Where are we going?
There's a safe house, Friends of mine will meet us there and they're going to take us into Facade. For now, yes. I suppose that makes sense with everything. Sorry, just I guess I didn't realize. Come on. And she grabs her pack and she kind of puts it over her shoulders. I do the same and I I take up the two daggers and a sheath 1 into my side and then one into the inside of my left ankle as well. She moves swiftly down the stairs and you don't see any
sign of Sissy or Sissy at all. That's kind of curious, does kind of pique my interest alright and I do look around as if I'm looking for them and stuff as well. What's the matter? I I just said never mind, it's OK. She moves the front door and you see her sort of very quietly, very quickly move the wooden latch and she unlocks the door very, very deftly. It clicks for Thea that we're sneaking out now. She looks at you, she opens the door, and she slips out.
She had told you you were leaving at first light that's still some time away, like it's still dark beyond. You can still see the lights of Gelshire City in the distance, twinkling. I'll just fall straight behind
her. You watch as she sort of, she slips down off of like she slips out of the doorway down that path and again she's sort of, she pulls her coat up around her and she closes it and she just gestures left as she slips down the hill and then immediately off the road and into the snow fields. I follow her as well. I make sure to like as I'm walking. I don't know if there's any snowfall or that happening, but my feet are going into where she's already made imprints in
the snow. There it is. Only when you step out and you kind of follow Una, do you realize, well, yeah, it's cold and you are already bundling your coat up around you. The wind, it's not as strong as it was a couple of hours ago, but it is sort of breezing a powder of snow around. So it has been snowing.
You don't know for how long. There's no evidence of the snow here in the immediacy of the bathhouse, but as you follow Una over and down the hill, you do feel the cold just get that little bit sharper and the snow sort of catching and sticking to your skin and your hair. Following Una.
She doesn't say anything for the longest while and you are sort of trying to keep up with her steps, but it's a thing of she gets so far through the fields and she stops and she looks back to wait for you, uh, to kind of catch up. You do get a sense of frustration from her Uh, but it's something she's she's not expressing.
Like she's obviously the speed at which you're going is the speed that you can go in your current state, but she's sort of a handful of Times Now, particularly as the sky starts to brighten. You see like she even kind of grabs at you a couple of times and it's that thing.
She kind of half drags you with her a couple of steps and as you you're so you're sort of rounding the mountain here almost that you seem to be kind of you turned off the road and now you're going around it. You can still feel and hear the sounds of the waters rushing. But as you reach the edge of the field and you can no longer see the bath house but for the palace, you can't see the city anymore.
But at the edge of this field, I'm looking down and it is a drop, like it's just a steep slope. The whole way down you just see miles and miles of forest, all buried beneath snow. My eyes go kind of wide in like a in a sense of awe. This is really going to take so long and almost like guilt and how long it's going to take realizing how slow I am in comparison to how I usually am as well kind of washes over me right now.
And then I also feel this disconnection from Una at this moment with with just her, I guess her being unsatisfied with how quickly I'm moving. Like she had also kind of stopped again to kind of wait for you to catch up, seeing you reach and then kind of almost out of breath even. She just, she let it's, she waits a moment or two longer than she had before. What's the matter? Yeah. Sorry, I'm still I'm still quite tired. I'm not fully back to myself yet. It's fine and you pick up on the
sharpness. Yeah, yeah, I could feel the shortness there. It's going to take a little bit longer to get to the safe house. I was hoping to make it in a day's journey, but we may not have that. And you see, you're kind of looking around a little bit. We should just press on. OK. And she kind of, this time, she lets you walk ahead of her.
Yeah, yeah, OK. I do walk ahead, but every I do every now and then look back at her to like confirm I'm heading in the right direction because I, I do, I don't know what direction we're going in. So just look back at her to like just confirm yes or no. Or do we need to go more left? Or do we need to go more right or? She doesn't really. The couple of times that you look back to try and gauge her, you see that she's looking around as well, like she's. She's scouting.
Yeah, she's an eye on you and an eye on the direction you're going in, but she's looking around her as well. And it is that thing for you when she doesn't actually correct you at all at all because it is just a slope down and you, you're careful of your footing. A couple of times you hear her like when you look back, she's actually stopped and she's kind of almost kind of taller. Like she seems to kind of standing up a little bit just
trying to get a better survey. And then she kind of catches up to you after some time. And after you finish the kind of the climb downwards, you see that here at the base of the slope, there's a clearing. And in the distance you can see the tree line for for the frost whales. And Una just kind of has kind of now caught up to you. And just before you press on, she stops you and she kind of puts a hand in front of you. Tread very carefully.
Hearing that, it puts via on high alert and she's now very aware of her surroundings. Una kind of drops low and you see her hands kind of searching through the snow and she takes out, she just pulls a a lump of rock with some ice and dirt on it and she bounces it across the the clearing in front of you. And when it does, you hear the the stone actually bounce slides. There's a Bank of snow hiding a frozen body of water. OK? And you hear the odd kind of cracking of ice, slow and calm.
Can I, now that she's done that, can I see? Is there an edge at all? You're you're, you were one foot. Away. OK. Is there a way like do we have to crossover it or is it like a little pond or is it like? No, it's it's bigger than a pond. It's not quite a river. It's like a small mountain lake. OK. And the quickest way obviously would be. Across, Yeah. Right. Are we anywhere near when it
comes to the lake itself? Like is it we're going straight across the middle or is it where we can kind of follow the side of it a little more where the ice is thicker? She's cutting across, straight across. OK, Yeah. Right, umm, I'm going to follow her very slowly, very delicate steps, not even really lifting my foot, just kind of like almost gliding it one by one, really just taking my time, really slowly. Feeling that if the ice is taking my weight.
She's kind of doing something similar, and as she kind of hears you kind of put a foot on the ice behind her, she kind of looks back and then she kind of presses forward, seeing that you were kind of mimicking her footsteps, whether you copied her or whether you just knew. Thought doesn't even come to her mind, but she's also kind of half skimming the ice with those steps. I'm also making sure not to walk
behind where she is as well. Yep, I'm walking more to the side so we're not walking over the same part of the ice where it's there's a possibility of adding more pressure. It'll make it crack easier. Give me an acrobatics check. Acrobatics OK 11. Finally get to use these dice. These are metal dice I've had for Una for a long, long time They're really pretty umm, OK uh 10 for Una. The both of you are sort of cautiously treading across this and it's only you're only kind of about 20 feet.
You can see the other side like you're it is it is probably an only another 6570 feet and as the crow flies. But there's a moment where you see Una hesitate as she puts a foot down and there's a very audible crack and you hear kind of a slosh of water via and she looks over her shoulder. She gives you an eye and she vanishes into a plume of smoke, and you see her appear on the other side of the lake. We should. OK, so and how's, how's the ice
under me? As you kind of as you see her vanish and she kind of calls out to you in that it all happens in that one moment. The ice is now splintering. And it's 70 feet away, right? My blessing of the Raven Queen only takes me 30 feet. OK. So what I want to do, if I can use it to get to the edge of the lake, not even if I get closer to her, whatever edge of the lake is closest to me. So. You're going to you're, you're just going to try and teleport
straight in front of you. Whichever edge is closest to me, just to get thicker ice if you get me. So whatever the shortest distance is to an edge, whether it's I have to go back on myself or I have to. You can go. To the side or. At this point you can either go back. Yeah. Or you can go, I mean, you can go in any of those directions, but if you go back, you're going to be right back where you started and it's going to take you ages to cross the lake. Do you?
Know what I'm going to do? I'm going to bounce action, manifest my E30 feet away from me. And then what I can do then is for every bonus action, I can swap places with it, OK? And then I'm going to move it ahead of me again and swap and move and swap to get to where I am because the the Raven Queen won't get me. So you're saying a 70 feet won't get me there?
So I'm not moving. The echo's doing all the movement for me. OK, so give me an acrobatics or athletics check just to for because as you manifest and move and you kind of blink into where the the echo was, it's that thing of the ice under foot is. 7. You see Una vanish and it's that thing of wait, what? And then immediately it kind of sinks into her head. You just see her reappear on the Bank of the lake and again about
70 feet away from you. You're not going to, you don't know how she's able to go that far, but you just, you kind of go to lunch forward and the echo of you sort of blinks into place, rushes across the ice. And then immediately you swap places with her. And another echo of you as she hurled into smoke, another echo kind of just broiled out of you
like fog. And as you go to move and you press down, you just feel the ice slip and dip below the water and you the everything spins as you go to manifest and the echo just explodes and you slip below the water and immediately you feel your whole body just yanked by occurrence downwards. I think as soon as I feel the occurrence, just kind of completely reactionary, I use Blessing of the Raven Queen to balf out of the water and it's closer.
I know I'm not going to make it the full way, but it's just it's been hit by that cold water, the shark, and I'm just like trying to want myself out of it. With the Raven Queen, you have to see where you're going. Yeah. So you can bump up onto the ice. Again, you can't bump. OK, I suppose that's the only thing I can like because my echo didn't manifest again. No, not right. That's the only thing I can I can do, Yeah.
Yeah, it's the as you kind of feel your whole body being pulled down and the weight of the water and the force of it just sort of dragging you, you something in you just clicks. And it's not the echo, it's the darkness around you. And you just feel these eyes on you and you force yourself up as your whole body is whipped through darkness and smoke. You land on that same platform of ice and with your weight, it's sort of skimming and bobbing.
You are soaked through and as you gasp for air you feel two hands on you as Una looks you dead in the eye and you are hurtled through smoke and shadows. Give me a wisdom safe and through. God 17 is my lost. You swap where you were a moment ago, you on the ice, you felt Una's hands on you, and you are just pulled away from the ice as you feel it kind of crack up beneath you. And for the faintest of moments there is that sense of this has happened. I know this. I feel this.
This has happened to me before. And Una is kind of now kind of next to you, breathing heavily. Umm, both of you sort of crumpled in the snow. You are soaked through and whatever warmth the clothes we're providing beforehand is
gone. Gone, Yeah, umm, I street I, I start taking the coat off and someone like, that's the one thing is like taking these off to like wring out the, the water so it's not stuck on me because otherwise that that coldness will just seep in. So I start taking these off and like just wringing them out and getting rid of that moisture as much as I can. Yeah, Una is kind of trying to help you as well. She's kind of pulled it away and she's trying to like help as much as she possibly can.
Are you OK? I the ice it just. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. It's Fiya, it's fine. You're OK, you're you and like she's trying to have pull the the armour off of you. It's OK. Let me, It's fine. I'll do it. What's again? What's your passive perception?
20. As she's helping and she's kind of and you kind of pull away, it is that thing where you kind of half fall back into the snow and with kind of the coat kind of up around your head, you see Una snag clearly pick something up from the snow and put it in her pocket. Right. I kind of looked down at myself and sees like my pouch still on my thing on my. Armor. Yeah. Checking the pouch on your belt. It's there.
It's wet. OK, I don't know what could have been in my pocket then that she took, so I didn't put anything in my pocket. So I don't know. OK, Noted. Noted. We have to get you warm. Come on with you sort of struggling with the wet clothes that are on you as run out as much as they possibly can. They're still wet. She's now again leading you into the woods. And here you do. It is the it's a forest that has just been completely blanketed in snow.
Huge pine trees just sort of stabbing up out of the ground, their branches laying kind of low and bending with the weight of the snow that's on them. OK, Usually you do here like one of them give away and just a clump of snowfall and echo across the quite forest. And like that Una kind of stops and moves on and as she sort of leads you through The Woodlands, she brings you deeper and as slow as you were before.
Now it's that thing again of every step is a labour, every step is difficult, every step is hard. She brings you, uh, deeper and deeper into the woods, only to stop as you start to see the kind of the, the sun in the sky is now kind of, it's about noon and you find yourself as kind of in a small clearing with an overhang of rock. Uh, there's a couple of fallen trees that just seem to have been, uh, bowled over by the wind. Small sort of saplings that didn't, uh, didn't manage to
hold firm in storms. She nestles you towards the crop they are cropping and immediately goes to start a fire. We have to get you warm, OK? Umm. I'm just kind of busy in myself again, taking off some of these layers to kind of ring out more moisture if I can. But my eye while I'm doing it. I, I, I, I know after that experience, I have an eye on her when her back is turned. And it was.
I'm really looking at her properly now for the first time and like, not in a way where it's like I'm looking at my mom. I'm like, I'm questioning things that have happened and the the smoke and trying to convince myself there is no connection. But also my brains like no, you can't deny there's something off here. You've like you have felt that
before. She doesn't say anything like she has a small fire kind of going and again, she sort of, she means you closer to it. She's taking out some rations from the bag and she gives you some, and she sits there just chewing on them in silence. I do the same. I don't. I don't try and make any conversation. I'm just running through my own
thoughts right now. Time goes by and she's finished off the the kind of the dried meat and just sort of staring into the fire and it's a small, low little flame that she's got going. It's barely giving any warmth, but it's better than nothing. You shifted. What do you mean? From under the water, I you were able to even in that state. I just it's the only thing I could think of doing. No, I it's quite a strenuous thing to do at the best of times, let alone when you're at
odds with the elements. I guess I just let any other thought creep into my head and just thought of that and getting out first. I didn't let the cold, the thought of cold creeping in, the thought of the water creeping, and it was the first thing that popped into my head. I've kind of done it before where I've messed up and it's the first thing that I do and. She just kind of sits there. What yours is different? It comes with practice.
That you're able to go further? I've never seen that before, not even with Quillo. Our abilities as we get older can manifest differently. Can I inside check that? Yeah. Damn it, it's a 10. She's definitely holding something back. You're you're not sure what, but she's definitely uneasy in this conversation. You don't really seem like you want to talk about it. Because I don't, so let's not.
Are you going to keep going? Sure, OK, that kind of puts another knock up in Fia's wall against her. You see kind of una stand and for the last couple of hours the you've seen kind of a change in her, like she's gone from being quite. Gone from warm to nearly tactical, I see. Yes, it's, I think it's like a switch has gone that warm and protective nature is now, she's still protective, but she's way more sort of calculating. She's way more sort of cold about it.
She kind of stands up. And I see for me, it feels like there's like a level of annoyance there with with Thea and how she's not able to keep up as well. Oh, yeah, there is that she's, she's struggling to hold on to the fact that you're her daughter and you are after going through something awful. Yeah, this is coming through, yeah. Yeah, she stands up and kind of puts the fire out and then you see her freeze. I don't move and just listen. Don't move.
And you see her eyes, kind of her eyes kind of look to you. And then she gestures very, very faintly over her right shoulder. My eyes slowly move to over her right shoulder to see what she's picked up. At first you don't see anything. It's kind of what you didn't hear anything, you didn't see anything. And then it's just a very, very small movement at the edge of the clearing and you see three walls larger than what you would have encountered in the forests in Tezra. They are Snow White.
They are low to the ground and as they kind of come into your eye line, your eyes lock with them and there's a sharp whistle and the wolves come running. Give me an initiative roll. Got. It yeah, OK yeah 7:00. OK, Una rolled twelve. OK, the Wolves have an 11, the Whistler a nine, and you got it. So we all rolled really crap on initiatives and Una has a + 5. Oh gosh. As that whistle just kind of cuts through and the wolves come
running. You see Una just reach down to her left side with a right arm and turn and immediately run at the wolves. And as she does, she draws out this crested scimitar. The blade is black metallic. And when she does that whistle, the wind, everything gets quiet as she pulls it forward and from her right side with her left hand she draws out a second blade. This is more of a short sword. As she runs, you see her throw the scimitar forward and it whistles through the trees.
It is her blade and it is called Whisper. Oh. Wow. It flies kind of forward and it slashes at one of the wolves, so she's going to make an attack with that. That's a 24 to hit the blade as she kind of throws it forward. She didn't throw it like you would a dagger. Like an overhand or anything. Yeah, it's almost like she half
kind of tosses it into the air. And when she does, you see this thing just sort of of its own volition cut and weave through the the pine saplings and just spin and slash out at the front wolf in the pack. And as she draws closer, you see her like she's she's scanning the area around her and she just calls out via your flank and you see just kind of coming around the the kind of what say that outcropping and around the rocks
and the trees. An orc dressed in hunting gear, great heavy furs, sort of a bronze skinned, 2 large tusks kind of protruding, his hair pulled back in a long slip of a ponytail, just all pulled back and it's this sort of wet kind of orange colour. It looks like it's been oiled or greased back. And he he's running at you with a javelin in hand. So he's attacking me. Sorry to interrupt you there. Yes, he is.
Well, he's he, but it's still una OK as her blade the the the black scimitar sort of cuts through the air and slashes into the front wolf. Uh, she with her short swords skids into half kind of a stop and lunges with the short sword and she catches the same wolf kind of in its front left leg. It lets out a Yelp and you see that the other two wolves have kind of flanked her on either side, her blade in just off to one side and her short sword in the other.
You watch as she she starts to kind of search herself and she draws out a dagger. It is the wolves who will go next. That's a net 20. That's a hit on the second one and a hit on the third one for SO35 damage wolf to Una as she is surrounded by these wolves. What's my distance from Una now? She's about 20 feet as she charges in and she slashes at the first wolf. Immediately the one on her left bites and you see it where she was searching for that dagger. It bites into her leg.
She recoils and half stumbles back and the other wolf comes up and bites her into the shoulder. She's holding herself fast, but you watch as the first wolf then bites into her leg and starts to pull and tear and she's slashing with blades. The orc from where he is, is going to Chuck his javelin. That's a 15 to hit. Meter beaters. OK. And then it is five piercing damage. I got to also use my uncanny dodge to have that. Your uncanny dodge. My uncanny dodge. Your uncanny dodge.
So three or two, yeah. Sorry, that would have been five. No, no, two, because I round down. Damn it. He he is running through the tree line at you Phea, and as he kind of gets to the edge, he hurls the javelin. You kind of half throw yourself out of the way kind of spinning low. It catches you just kind of across your shoulder. Gotcha. And you hear it thawed into the ground.
And then immediately he lets out, kind of just says as he barrels into you using his aggressive ability, OK, he can move up to his movement speed towards a hostile creature that it can see, which is you. So he's now on top of you, but that's his turn. He's in my space now. Yes, yeah, and it is your action. OK So what I'm going to do with bonus action? Manifesting my echo directly behind him.
So technically that would give me advantage for a hit, but because I'm exhausted, it just gives me an A, a straight role. So I'm going to I I have my two daggers, one in each hand. So I'm going to do a dagger attack against him. OK. And it also gives me sneak attack because I have my echo at in five feet as well if I land it. No No 11. No, 11 doesn't hit your echo. Oh, your body doesn't get to attack? That's all I can do, yeah. The echo is purely there to give me the the the yeah.
You do you as he barrels down on top of you. You immediately you cast forward your echo and just these plumes of smoke half drifting out of the squashed fire that Una had put out all sort of mixes with you, and it just sort of wafts around him. And then directly behind him, a version of you made entirely of smoke and shadows appears. You slash out with your dagger. Yes, yeah. And as you do, it glances off his leather and he kind of half
swats your arms away. He you see like now that he's on top of you, his full presence, he's barreling in at about like 6465 quite a muscular, heavy barrel chested fella. And he has pulled his his great axe out. Great, you've bonus actioned. That brings us to Una. Una kind of glances over her shoulders and she sees, you know you've got a cut. But with the orc on top of you, surrounded by the wolves, she turns her attention.
She takes a breath inwards and then exhales, and through the snow and the cold air that just exudes out of her. Shadows twist and form as she manifests an echo of herself behind the other wolves, and she draws up her her long, her short sword and her dagger, and she just turns and digs in with both blades on the wolf in front of her. That hits, but not great on the short sword. OK, hits again, but also rolled A1 on that.
So, umm, now there is a thing that you didn't do me Yeah, that you can do with your echoes the unleash your incarnation. Yeah, I didn't want to. I didn't want to do it. You don't. Want to do it? Yeah, I'm going to use it. She's going to again on the oh, actually, I, I, I would have sneak attack on that. Oh, boy. OK. Does she have two attacks per turn? Does she? She does. Oh yeah, yeah. So. She's her bonus 2 attacks now she's doing a leader incarnation
for a third. Yeah. That's amazing and sneak attack on all of them. So now. You're gonna get sneak attack on the first hit. You are correct. But doesn't her echo get sneak attack? You did? Yeah, we gave it to you. Did we? Yeah, I think. So did we look if anyone listens back and you're like, oh, wait, we didn't well, whoops, we'll give we'll give your echo in this. She's only she's done 12 damage to it there. So that's 33 now her eight D6 for her and the echo. So it's 46 each.
Oh I was like, what fucking level is she in in Rogue? OK, that's 7 and 12 for Una that's 19. OK, Echo didn't do so great, 9, but you again keeping your eyes locked on the orc, you can just hear the sounds of a wolf's howl in pain as Una and her Echo both sort of in rhythm with each other. Dig and slash both the other two wolves the other side are snapping and biting, but the echo is able to kind of gracefully kind of dodge and
mirroring Una's movements. The wolves are up next and they are going to go for well, 2 are going to go for Una, one's going to go for her echo. OK. The one for Una doesn't hit other one for OK, this one does and that is 6 damage to Una and then the one for the echo Knight and this is their AC is 19 isn't it? Mine's 18. You're probably knight for a higher level, yeah. That doesn't matter because it's
a net one for that wolf. Yeah, it goes to bite where the echo knight was, but it's it's gone. Like it's just, it's sort of just with the wind catching it up. It just sort of is half danced, blown around in a circle. The orc with his great axe on top of you. Via is gonna go for a swing that is 22 to hit. Oh yeah. And six slashing damage only because I rolled a three on my D12. I'm having that. OK, so it takes three damage. Yeah, and it is your action.
So I, I'm, I'm, I'm kind of frustrated that I don't have any my other equipment. I literally just have my daggers. Umm so I'm going to attack on my action, my bonus action, and I'm also going to unleash incarnation. So I'm going to do 3 attacks with daggers against the. Orc and two of those yours and this. The echoes will have sneak attack. OK, so the first one is 1717 hits 10 plus or 14 on my first hit.
OK. Eh, 17 again to hit for another 8 and then my a dirty 20 then for my echo so it's 16 damage. Yeah, it's a very because you, you weren't watching Una, but the pair of you have more or less pulled off that same manoeuvre of that dig down and slash you with the the daggers in hand, the orc with his great axe having swung as it
connected. You have bent and twisted your way around, giving yourself an opening as you slash and bury your daggers into his armour and you feel flesh as you drive them deep down. Your echo from behind buries both daggers into his shoulders as the pair of you hack into him. Una, seeing one of the wolves low literally is going to attack with her, her short sword and her dagger as her bonus action. She can have the scimitar attack
as well. So she's going to attack the wolf in front of her again and that is a dirty 20 on the short or the short sword to attack. OK, and that wolf is down. She drives her short sword straight into the wolf's chest and as she does, she lifts him up and knocks him over, kind of kicking him off the blade. She slashes to her right into the wolf on her right hand side with her dagger and that is a 15. OK, that's a nifty 8 damage.
And then her whisper, her scimitar is using her bonus action is going to attack and that is a 26 to hit 11 damage on the other wolf. And again, she's sort of having lifted the the the main wolf off its legs and knocked it back dead on the ground. She lunges to the right as her whisper blade slashes to her left, and the pair of them managed to dig their blades into the wolves, who are now kind of half surrounding and moving kind of within their space. Uh, circling. Uh, Una and her Econite.
One's going to go for the Econite, the other one's going to go for Una, and that's on the Econite. That's the Econite gone as it bites down where it was and there is a familiar sense of that space, that energy, that magic, whatever it is via just it's there and it's gone. And you, you feel it because you know it, but it's not the same connection that you have to your Echo Knight. The other wolf misses, thankfully, as it tries to bite at Una. It is the orc who is just
growling and snarling at you. He, he kind of synapsed around to kind of meet your gaze here, and you do see kind of ruins and like some of the marks on his body like these, what you thought might have been tattoos. They glow as he casts Hunter's Mark on you. For the next hour and until the spell ends, you deal an extra D6 damage to any target whenever you hit with a weapon attack. You have an advantage on any Wisdom or Perception or Survival checks you make to find it.
And if the target drops to 0 before the spell ends, I can move it to somebody else for free as a well as a bonus action. Gotcha. And then he's going to take a swing with his great X. That's a 13 to hit. No OK, Sort of manoeuvring himself between you and the echo again, trying to get out of that sort of pincer movement. Just taking a step back as the magic wells up and he casts under his mark on you and you do you see that? You are kind of, you feel it on you. It's like that.
There's like a shimmer of light just above your skin. Uh, in the same markings as his tattoo around his neck and jaw. You just managed to kind of squirm your way around as he slashes out with the great axe and it misses your midriff. It is your action. I'm going to go back in with the same thing I did last time. I know I'm going to burn through my unleashed incarnations, but it's more about survival at this stage really for Thea. So it's going to be 3 attacks
against him with my daggers. First one, that's a natural 20. OK so with your Nat 28 you do 1D4 full damage SO4 plus whatever you're old plus 4 which is. 88 and then 28 on the first hit, so. How does he go down? And this is lethal. It's it's literally just a case of pure survival is just flowing through fear right now. So it's a case of quickest way I like, I know he's big, the quickest way I can get him down. And I, I kind of, I leap up a
little bit. I don't have as much energy as I did before, but just enough to get up with my dagger in my right hand to bring down into like between into his neck, just above his collarbone and just sink it down into into into his neck. Like again, mirroring the movements around you, it's that thing where you're econite and you almost kind of circle your econite moving like a Wraith of smoke. He's he's watching you, the pair
of you as you sort of move. And just as the econite goes to lunge and he goes to defend against the Econite, you see clearly and you just, it's not even a jump or a leap.
It's kind of a bound or a hop up with whatever energy you're able to muster, and your dagger in your right hand, you bring it straight down into that gap just above the collarbone and down in. And then there's just kind of as you catch and you see his eyes kind of meet yours, and he falls to his knees as you drag him down and he collapses on his side, dead. Una can just see over and she just shouts call your bow, don't get close.
Call my bow. It's like I just confusion runs through me, but I'm like alright. And I just think about. I just just imagine the Ravens talent in in my hand give. Me a Wisdom saving through. This is a disadvantage. Yep, gotcha 5. You remember the bow you, you hold onto it. Everything gets dark around you. Like you see Una and the wolves, her blades kind of whisping through the air and everything
goes pitch dark. You see all of it get just swallowed in darkness, and there are two eyes watching from above looking down at you. Panic sets in a little, seeing those eyes again and again and again, and it's like. What matters most to you in this world? Via Burbage. A jealous steel. Everything shakes like you. You feel that darkness just get closer as it presses down on top of you. By his name I can give you power. What do you need? I need to survive.
And survive you shall, my little one. And the darkness that was kind of encroaching, you start to see it take form, and there is a woman standing in front of you, made entirely of shadows and darkness. And she moves, and as she does, you see a line of shadows, a procession behind her. She takes your hand and out of the silhouette you just see a pair of purple eyes look straight at you. Family, sisterhood. A new Raven Queen shall rise, and she embraces you.
You feel two hands on you, dragging you up as light just sort of burns into your eyes. The voice is muffled. They're calling your name. You feel the weight of something in your hand. You feel the cold and the wet of the snow sticking to your neck and soaking into your clothes. And you just hear Una calling out. Thea Thea. I snap to attention and I look at my hand and what I'm holding. The Raven Salon. And it's almost as if slow motion is it's coming back into
like, you know, normal time. I unleash incarnation and I fire my bow at one of the wolves. As you kind of dart awake and it's that thing of like, oh God, we're fighting. And you scramble to your feet, pulling at your bow and reaching for an arrow. You see three dead wolves lying in a pile of blood stained snow. He had this And into your hands. Una stuffs a wanted poster. I looked down at it already, I think, knowing what I'm going to see.
You see your picture next to a Festa, Nate, and AJ all with wanted for treason and crimes against the Kingdom of Galeshire. Dead or alive. 500,000 gold pieces. There will be more we have to go. And she's kind of grabbing at you and leading you into the woods. There's shock, there's a daze, and then I kind of snap out of it and I just say, yeah, yeah. And I, I fold up the The Wanted poster and I, I, I slide it into my pocket.
As you're led by Una through the the woods, she's holding you behind the wrist and she's dragging you through like she's faster on her feet now, and she doesn't seem to be giving any kind of consideration to the tiredness or anything like that. Occasionally you just hear if he was able to find us and others can as well. We can't. We have to hurry. And she's saying it to nobody. She's saying it to you. She's just saying it to put it
out there. And again, a little while later you're hearing it. What? What's that? What, what were, what happened? And again, she's not really letting you catch a breath to respond or to just in flight mode. Like it's that thing of she's moving and she's moving quick and she's dragging it with her. And a couple of times as you trip and fall, she's yanked you off of your feet and through as you're moving with her. What?
What is Thea going through? She's just, she's back in that dark space and she's feeling the hug around her and she's not sure whether it's comfort or fear she has for it. It's a mixture of both in a way. And she's she's completely not here at all. Like the, the, the, the waste of the of the situation with The Wanted poster and you know, even even seeing her friends on it and everything like that, none of that has really fully hit or sunk in yet very much on
autopilot. And her, just her thoughts are back in that space with those those eyes and that embrace. As you kind of dwell on all that's happened and trying to deal with each of those things keeping pace as you are hauled through the snow fields and the frost Wilds by Una you've you watch as it as the sky darkens and you can feel the pain in your muscles, the ache, the heat, the draw, the the energy just sort of seeping and sapping out of them.
You feel the burning in your lungs and just as you find yourself on the edge of almost collapse at this point, Una just stops and nestled against a low hill. You see what looks like a small log cabin and there's a flash of a memory. The same cabin, forests, una and quilo. Small little caravan chock full of all sorts of antiquities and oddities that the pair had managed to bargain and pilfer. This rising sense of Deja vu.
And as the memory comes into full picture, standing there in the open yard, you see somebody else, something else, a woman dressed all in black. And as the memory fades, you see two large black wings just unfurl from behind her and she vanishes into a plume of feathers. And Una hauls you towards the cabin and we'll leave it there.
