And we keep it moving on a Fridays, moving fast, Jason Smith, moving fast like you do, cat quick baby. Oh, last day of the PAC twelve man, Last day of the PAC twelve, Last day, last day. And you know on that last day we're gonna have to get our spirituality in so Vic. The Brig Jacob is gonna bring that to us in just a little bit. But right now, let's bring on the barbecue. Brother, the man with the plan and the man has the answers,

my brother, David Bassey, David Bassay, what's happening? Oh, Rodney, great to talk to you again. What's up? Jason? And Rodney? I forgot to tell you earlier this week. Yours truly did beat your son RJ's fantasy football team last weekend. It wasn't even close. Ah ah you you took it out on RJ and the clubbies. I did. I did. I took him. I took him and put him over my knee and gave him thanking. Oh I've had He's visiting his mom in Atlanta.

When he gets back, I'm gonna call you and put him on the Oh you would enjoy that. Yeah, absolutely all right, Dave, you reported this man so I want to hear from you. Is there any tan Jack Peterson comes back. Well, speaking of RJ, you know how much Jock and RJ love each other. There is a chance, Rodney. I know there has been contact between the two sides. Nothing is close, but certainly Jack Peterson is on the radar. And last year the Dodgers had interest in

bringing back Jock Peterson. The only issue was that the Giants extended the qualifying offer to Jock, which was nineteen million dollars for one year, and he could not turn that down. He went back and now as a free agent, they cannot offer the qualifying offer a second time. So if the Dodgers do decide to bring back Jock Peterson, it would be in a role where he would platoon in left field, essentially taking the role of David Peralta.

But basically, David Peralta and everybody else have never come close to replacing what Jack Peterson and Keith k Hernandez did for the Dodgers during the twenty fifteen all going to twenty twenty. They've never been really able to replace those two guys in that combination of left and right. And I know talking to Key k after the game in Arizona, he said he was open to coming back to the Dodgers, and I believe the Dodgers are open to bringing him back as

well. So it's not out of the question that you could possibly see Keith Ky and Jock Peterson back on the same team wearing blue. Yeah. Two guys have been clutching the playoffs for the Dodgers over the years. Man. And speaking of fantasy football, we know the fantasy team and the Dodgers will be better if Jock Peterson comes back, right, you better not include Tommy

samm in that league. Hey, Dave, As it looks as things go with the meetings coming up this week in Nashville, you're going to be there. Rodney and I talked about this earlier today. Pitching hitting Is it a combination of both avenues for the Dodgers. What are you seeing how the next week or so plays out? Well? Certainly starting pitching is at the forefront of the agenda for the Dodgers, but it is for virtually every other team

out there. The difference is the Dodgers have obviously the financial might and also the roster flexibility to add top rotation pieces, and also they have a lot of Uh, they have a lot of good young pitching that showed they can be really good at the major league level, and that's what the White Sox

are looking at. If you're talking about Dylan Cees and my understanding, I know we were all excited about the prospects of Corbyn Burns being on the block, but by all accounts the people I talk to around baseball, the Brewers seam intent on holding on to Burns and seeing where their season goes, and if they're out of it, then they would consider trading Burns, who's a free agent at the end of the year. But by all accounts right now

they are not open to trading him. So the trade market has shrunk as far as that goes. And everybody believes Dylan sees the rumors, the talks, they are going to get really hot starting Sunday in Nashville. What about some of the other guys, Dave, like Jordan Montgomery, Wade Miley or Clevenger. Yeah, I don't know about those guys. I don't believe any of those maybe, with the exception of Jordan Montgomery are on the Dodgers radar. Lucas Giolito, I know, has had talks with the Dodgers. They

believe they can help get his career back on track. And he's a local kid out of Harvard Westlake. He would slot in in that four or five spot in their rotation. So that's a guy they have had serious discussions with. And as far as another trade possibility, Shane Bieber of the Guardians could be a partner with the Dodgers. I wouldn't say he's the same Shane Bieber that he was a couple of years ago, but he would fall in the same category as Dylan Cea said, number two, number three type of reliable

starter in their rotation. Dave, when it comes to Otani, you know we're hearing today that hey, it could be a week long process. We could get some clarity coming up soon. You had the fascinating report last time that we got to talk that hey, don't discount that Otani might stay for a year or two with the Angels and get back to free agency after he

proves he can still pitch. I mean that that's something that's just absolutely mind blowing, that that that he could stay there and this is something that could be how this all plays out. Is that something that you still are you still hearing that, you still see that that being a possibility though Toanni could maybe stay for a year or two with the Angels. Yeah, Actually talking to somebody with the Angels today, they told me, you know what,

it's not out of the realm of possibility. The Angels are still in this thing. It's all up to Artie Moreno, of course, but the teams that I'm hearing and what you know, this is what I've heard in the last twenty four hours. Teams believe that the reports out there about the Blue Jays being in on Otani is very real. And the way it was put to me from just a handful of people I've spoken to around the league, they believe it's the Dodgers, the Cubs, the Blue Jays, and like

I said, don't discount the Angels. I can't go to the Angels. Can you see him going back to the Angels? I don't know about that. Just to make it clear, guy, guys, I have said this going back two years. I'm not sure if you remember this guy, Chris Martin. He was a really good reliever with the Dodgers, went to Boston

last year, was great. He was teammates with shoe hey Otani in Japan for a short time for one season, and he said, being around him in Japan and you know, being teammates with him, he believes that Otani has mapped out his entire career and at that stage in Japan, still not here in Major League Baseball, believed he had mapped out his career at that point as well. And he believed and he told me this when he was with the Dodgers, and he doubled down when I saw him in Boston this

year. He believes Otani already knows where he's going to sign, so whatever team he signs with, uh, there is no wooing or trying to, uh, you know, roll out the red carpet for Otani. He believes Otani already knows what team and has envisioned already at this stage of his career,

what team he is going to play for. Wow. Wow, that wild the kind of guy he is, And that doesn't surprise me at all though the way you know, he kind of interacts and does his own thing and walks to the beat of his own drama, that that does not shock me at all that he's got it all mapped out. Day. But let

me ask this. So, if it's so, Dave, if this is the case, would possibility exist, if this is how things go, Could the Dodgers get involved and say, well, if you want to do two years until you get you know, until you feel about hey, we we can do whatever you want. We're right up the road here, right,

we can do two years for you tell us what you need. Could the Dodgers get involved if if that's a case or is this a it's angels for one or two years and that's the only team that be involved for that right And then if you look at it, it's going to be a long term deal with other teams, and my understanding, many people in baseball believe there are going to be multiple opt outs in a long term contract. So it essentially works in the same way day we talked about a possible reunion with Jock

Peterson, Is there a possible reunion with Hinjin Reu? I wouldn't roll that out of the question either. You know, the Dodgers are opening up their season in South Korea this year. First two games with regular season are in

South Korea. And look, the Dodgers have made a living out of buying low and getting the most out of a lot of pitchers, and you would fall in to that category coming back from arm issues again with the Blue Jays, Tommy John with the Blue Jays, So he would be a by low type of candidate, Rodney, So I would not roll it out later in the offseason, all right, Dave, Now, Yallamoto's a guy that's going to probably wind up getting the richest non Otani contract of anybody. It just

keeps going up and up every day. Two hundred million in the posting money two fifty two seventy five. We've heard the Dodgers are are all in on him and they're really close. Other NL teams are starting to get in the bidding on him. What do you think it's going to end up being money wise at the end of the day, And isn't enough The Dodgers are going to stay in it until the end. Yeah. My understanding Jason is Yamamoto is a big Dodger fan as well, so he wants to pitch for the

Dodgers. From what I'm understanding, whether or not financially that works out still remains to be seen. And if you look at the time that Andrew Friedman has been with the Dodgers. The closest that he's ever come to paying any picture the type of dollars that we're hearing it's going to take to sign Yamamoto is when he tried to sign Garrett Cole for close to three hundred million dollars.

He obviously want to pitch for the Yankees. So I'm still I'll believe it when I see it that Andrew Friedman signs any pitcher that has not you know, just I'll believe it when I see it. Yeah, yeah, Dave, Before we let you go, what's the word on Miguel Vargas. Is he someone that's still in the Dodgers' plans or no? Well, his values at an all time low, so if he tried to trade him, you're not gonna get the same value you would have gotten a year ago at

this time, So I would say he's not untouchable Rodney. But if he does roll it back with the Dodgers next year, it will be a combination of second base, third base, and left field because of the way Mookie played it second and they've re signed Jason Hayward. All Right, Davids again ready for the big goings on in Nashville. Wait, you're on the show every day next week, aren't you, Dave. Yeah, And Dodger Talk will be live next Tuesday night from Brad Paisley's farm in Nashville, Tennis.

That's right. I can't wait to get the lowdown on that day. Oh yeah, big Dodger fan, big Dodger fan. You guys see him all the time, Rodney, And for whatever reason, he likes Dodger Talk and the way I do it. So he invited me to the farm. Very very cool, very cool. Is he gonna do some songs? Like is it gonna be you talking Dodgers? He does a song? He talked Dodgers. He does a song. Is that how it's gonna go? Uh wow?

I haven't thought about it that way. Maybe you could send me some of his song names, Jason. Don't let him know I'm not well versed in this catalog. Well, he's got to have a Dodger song ready for you. He's to have his own Dodger song ready. I'm you know what, he might have one. He might have one, so he will be in the man cave. I'm sure there's a guitar or two laying around. Very cool, And you can still check out Jason Hayward. That interview with

him was great as well. On the podcast, David Beth's sake, appreciate you joining us. Many appreciate you joining. Looking forward to talking to you next week. Dave. All right, I just have a great weekend, He goes, our man, David say, he can have a good time down there. Now. Can you imagine Otani back to the Angels? That is that is telling you, man, that's wild. But the fact that

he's got it all mapped out is kind of really interesting. But it doesn't, Like I said, it doesn't shock me that he's got it all planned out. I'm gonna be with the Angels for this amount of years and I'm gonna go play for the Dodgers for the rest of it. I'm not getting out of the West Coast. I like to see that. Uh gotta have that spirituality though. When we come back, our man Victor Brick is joining

us for a little high coup. Yeah. Santa Claus Lane, Ronnie, that's where we're going, Jason Smith, We've been going to Santa Claus Lane. It's where Rodney used to go to collect his checks. Let's go to Santa Claus Lane. Come on man last night of the PAC twelve. Tonight. You can't help yourself. Your checks don't clear anymore. You check your checks are done. My goodness, yes they have been done. They have been done since nineteen eighty nine. Dear mister Pete, thank you for your

service. This concludes our business. Good luck. Let's move on. Let's move on because after that statement, we're gonna need some spirituality. As you're corrupting me. Let's bring him out because we desperately need it. And to provide that ultimate spiritual essence is the one and only Vic, the Brig Jacobs and Vic. Good afternoon. He's picking up the pieces of the PAC twelve. Rodney petely BDB. What a great void it will be from the Pack

eight to the PAC ten to the Pac twelve. I mean, growing up in New York, I would be so under the influence of West Coast football. I loved it so the high octane offenses, the exotic play calling, the great talent. This is indeed, I mean, I understand, we understand the power of the narrow, but the power of the of the pack, the Pacific Conference and it's so many stars and its impact on the game. It's it's when we look at Washington Oregon tonight. It's gonna be a

very emotional game. Then only you know, for those two schools to you know, to move into the you know, the ultimate playoff. But the conference itself, it's a sad, sad time. Yeah, Vic, so many memories. It's the sad thing that the West Coast doesn't have a powerful conference. I mean, there's so much pride out here and to lose that makes no sense. Vic was running the PAC twelve. We'd still have the PAC twelve. Agreed, we'd have the PAC twenty four. It would be

the PAC twenty four Flavor Conference. That's what it would be. You're telling me, I would not screw up the TV contract. That's the shore up. No, you wouldn't. I wouldn't be paying exorbitant rents in San Francisco. I don't. I don't want to spoiler from you, but is your high Coup about Larry Scott? I just have to ask, not even close. Okay, it's not even about Byron Scott. Okay, Scott Fitzgerald. He's in for Fred and he wants to love himself some yam a Moto Jason

Smith, Oh King Flavor yam A Moto coming to New York. Everyone's everyone's got the cash for Yama Moto. We'll see who steps up. A multi skilled executive producer seventy eighth and Vermont Kevin Figures come on now and he dazzles us daily, told us list to us with his musical repertoire. Alright, if Fossio have gong, we'll travel y'all. King Flavor, Yeah, I did the King Flavor. You gotta do something. I did the King Flavor today. Okay, let me do it again. Ready, this is for

you, Jason Smith. Okay, he's a mighty bench. It's King Flavor. He v t b otherwise known. Thank you. You went to King Flavor again though, No, but no, but at the end I said no at the end, I changed it. At the end. I just threw it in there to annoy Jason. No. I don't know about you, guys. I can't get enough of Tony watch more hardware for the Mount Fuji of Masforte. He wins a third straight Designated Hitter of the Year award. Oh, can't get enough. Remember those numbers. I mean, that's

why he's gonna be paid six hundred. You know A million whatever, forty four home runs, ninety six runs, better than eight triples, twenty stolen bases, and he missed like what the last two months now they missed fifty games and he still did that. Hey, did you hear David Masse talking about he's got his career all mapped out? Vic he already knows where he's

going. Doesn't surprise me, Right, He's a very, very attention to detail oriented fellow, loves routine, loves being close to the ballpark, always has been, even you know in Japan. You know we were talking Yamamoto, But obviously it's all about Oltani and the schmooz fest I believe is still on and still relevant of Otanisan. I mean, there's heavy vibes that the team Otani wants to make a deal in Nashville. They want to get it done. That's what I'm here, and they want to get a deal done

in Nashville. Will it happen? We'll see. David Vessey will be direct from Nashville, Tennessee giving us daily reports of what's happening. But the team Otanisan resonating that they want to get something done. They want they don't want to wait till you know twenty twenty four. They just they want to get Otani in place. They want to make a deal in Nashville, Tennessee. It's the inside track to secure Otoni. San Why the azul Why the Dodgers, Let me count the ways, talk to me. Number one, nobody

will outbid the Blue. Nobody nobody out bears the Blue, not even the the evil Empire in New York. No, the Yankees, the Red Sox are out of it. Toronto suddenly is in the conversation. What about far Hunt. They'll be talking, but he has a track record of failure going after free ations. It's not gonna stop. He's the one that had a bad need. Oh no, that was Carlos Carea that had the bad need that he couldn't sign it. Yeah, Aaron Judge led them on. Listen,

Atisa wants to win. Now, you're not gonna win with the hated ones who are basically you know and the post bust a posy. There's they're seeking talent, you know, far hunting the tough situation up there. Number two, while tiny son will sign with the Dodgers, the way of the azul otonisn loves the legacy of the blue. Number three, the winning traditions. As I repeat myself, tisn wants to win now. Number four Dave Roberts the only Major League Baseball skipper with the Japanese flavor. Dave gets it.

That's an influencing factor. He's the perfect manager for Otanissan. Number five Dodger fans o sees and appreciates the amazing loyalty of the CEO DoD and their love for the Dodgers. I backed it up one, Vic sorry, does Dave Roberts? Is he fluent in Japanese? Does he speak Japanese? Do we know that? I believe he speaks a little Japanese. Okay, I'm not sure if he's fluent, but you know his Japanese flavor for uh, it's very acute you. They'll find it. His mom is Japanese. I

mean, I did I realize he's half Japanese. I just don't know. That doesn't mean that he speaks Japanese. No, they'll find a way to tell him. Six hundred million dollars, they will find that way. They will find it. We can get along. You understands how to get along, but vic BLI does. So we have to trust Vic, I'm just saying, I don't know if that just the very fact that he happens to be have Japanese, I don't know if that's necessary, don't doesn't hurt.

Vic. Let me ask you a question, like saying like, oh yeah, Blake's now you Black Souls are on Washington, You're gonna sign with the Angels. That works. I just don't think it works that way. Vic. If if show Hey Otani signs with the Dodgers, how quickly are you going to leave the wittier dojo and head to Dodger Stadium and hands show hey the blue bamboo and show him the way? Vic? Well, number one, show he already know away he knows the way. But does he?

I mean, I will be ecstatic, and I will I will not vibe out until he's you know, he signs with the Dodgers, but we know he's close. So, Vick, you didn't answer the question. You didn't answer the question. You skirted the question. Would you come out of your wittier dojo and be like the Dodger Stadium to break bread with Sho Tan until

I get you know, my my my health back and working order. I will just be reaching out of you know via you know, zoom or email whatever, but I'm not I'm not going to be there directly in the house until you know I am fully one hundred Vic. I'll pick you up. I'll go pick you up, and I'll drive you to Dodgers Stadium myself. Thank you, Ronnie, I appreciate that much. Love you know that A number six of why old Tani we'll sign with the Dodgers. Our sushi is

the freshest this side of Osaka, and it's oy she delicious. When you say our sushi, you mean what La County La County sushi? Because La County sushi they didn't get a good down there in Orange County. Right, Well, it's fresh and oh see, but La County is amazing, amazing fresh sushi. So those are the six reasons why any side we'll sign with the Dodgers. I think they're valid and again, can't wait for the reports from David Vasse. I mean, going with Bray Pearsley's ranch next Tuesday Live

with Dodger Talker is going to be a that's wild. So looking forward to Brad Brad where's he going Vic his farm doing some farming. Hold that dog We're coming back, baby, coming back. Yeah, come on, come on, Vic. We need it for this weekend. Baby, we need it, Baby, come on, Vic, come on, Vic, shake that dradle. Y'all fellas, are you following Tiger Woods in the Bahamas? Uh? I have not, Vic, I have not. How's he doing? Vic? Well? Remember yesterday had a rough round three over seventy five.

It was beaten up. He was very sore and his body is stolen coop brating. But today he was the bamboo he bent. He didn't break two under seventy for Tiger Woods today. Oh at his World Challenge. So he's won over through thirty six holes. He's fifteenth out of the twenty golfers. Scottie Scheffler Jordan Speith lead at nine under it. But it's good to see Tiger regaining some form today that put him overall. He's won over. It was three over yesterday, won today? Right? Do you want to

say he's one over? Remember? Yes, they kind of ran out of gas to last four or five holes. Was in the sand, no bit. I think he ended up in Aruba on some of the holes. The slow bowt to Aruba. Are you guys watching the Hottest show on television. What is that Golden Bachelor? The finale was last night. Yeah, hit me. It was god ridging. Two ladies were left looking for love with with Gary, you know, the the Bachelor from somewhere in Indiana, So

Leslie, I mean, come on, from somewhere Indiana. So there's two, there's two lovely women left. Of course, these are the Golden Bachelor. He's seventy two years old. So all the women were you know, it was sixty or above. And it was just a beautiful, beautiful season for you know, for me, I usually don't watch The Bachelor, but I was fixated in it. Huh. Oh, I was totally vested. So you call myself with just going going wild my beloved bride because the search

for love is is so beautiful. So so Leslie was one of the two ladies left. She gets blindsided by Gary in Costa Rica. I mean she met and was loved by Gary's family, but then something suddenly changed and Gary chose Teresa out of New Jersey. Oh, what happened? What happened? He said, Puerto Rico. He met the family. They're in Costa Rica, Costa Rica, and something happened and suddenly a twenty four hour span. I mean, emotions went wild and eventually, you know, Gary found love

with this, you know, a beautiful lady from New Jersey. And get this, the Golden Bachelor of Journey has just begun. They're getting married, honeymooning in Italy. What solo meteet when they get married? I think in January? Is that soon? Wow? All right, Tully seventy two? How long do you want to wait? I mean, come on, you know, maybe a few months, get it done early. That was beautiful Gary from Indiana, Gary from Gary. So everyone found love. So you

found love. Last night, the UCLA Bruins just escapes. You see Riverside, the Highlander is extending the home winning streak to a nation best twenty nine. McK cronan out with COVID. Oh no, Cronan got COVID, got some COVID. But Dylan Andrews last I can lay up at Nelan John Wooden court and they escaped the uc Highlanders from Riverside. So the ie was in the house. The Islanders almost pulled it off last night. Yeah, you know who could play. I went to the usc UH Brown game about a

week and a half ago. Brown's got a nice squad in the IVY League. You know, we only hear about Princeton coming out of the IVY League as a basketball powerhouse. And I gotta tell you Brown, Brown had some players. There's no dominating team anymore. No a squad can come from any corner of America and springing upset, there's no doubt, which, of course

leads us to the source. On the on the eve of the PAC twelve and coming to a close, of course, the Pack twelve of the greatest basketball coach of all time, maybe the greatest coach of all time in John Wooden, and the High crewp is by John today, the UCLA Brewin basketball Buddha, of course, his pyramid of success, a virtual blueprint for life, his wisdom profound and eternal, the great John Wooden, and go something like this, it's what you learn after you know it all that counts.

A feeling you, John Wooden, What you learn after you know it all is what counts. Talk to me, John Wooden. Big, that was awesome. Big, that was the one big fear me through the weekend. Big. Yes, we are never going to hear another high coup. While the PAC twelve is still a conference that was the last ever high coup while the pack twelve. You can't help it, Jesus Smith, thank you much

brother, you got it man anytime you got it. Ronnie, thank you, Kevin, thank you, Victor Brick love you have a good weekend. Everybody. We'll talk to you. The money Petrolson money next
