Trying to figure out God's timing can be frustrating, confusing, and down-right exhausting. We often pray for God's intercession only to not see what we prayed for. Or maybe it doesn't happen as quickly as we desired.
This single act is one of the largest contributing factors to people abandoning their faith. "I asked and God never listened. " While this may feel like the case, the truth is that God hears all of our prayers and answers all of them with his answer, not ours.
Don't feel like you are alone in this endeavor. The greatest of all the saints fall into this same predicament. King David frequently prayed and questioned God's actions in the book of Psalms. He cried out only to wait for God's answer.
Often when we pray, we do so with intensity and immediacy. "Lord, I need this now!". The deal is that God knows what we need and when we need it. So, we often feel like we rushed to our prayer only to be left with a waiting game to receive God's response. This time of waiting is critical to our faith. It can either build it or destroy it depending on how committed we are to God rather than self.
