Sam was incredibly generous with his time, sharing his insights and stories about the making of classic rock docs (and one of our favorite "rock docs that's not a rock doc").

How did he get Jason Isbell, Amanda Shires, and the members of Wilco to open up about their professional and personal lives? What's it like going into a documentary with no idea what he was going to get? How did he adapt to the unexpected, from Wilco getting dropped by their label to Isbell's record release running into a global pandemic?
