Modern life in the 21st century west provides us with a plethora of ways of escaping reality. When the challenges of life are all too much, we usually find comfort in numbing our minds. Drugs, alcohol, and other traditional forms of escape often take the spotlight in a Christian tradition; but what about the more subversive forms: netflix, online shopping, gaming or continual scrolling.
