In desperation, he disguises himself and consults a medium at Endor, despite having previously banned such practices. When she summons Samuel, the prophet's disturbed spirit delivers a final devastating message: God has become Saul's enemy, the kingdom will pass to David, and Saul and his sons will die in battle the next day. Overwhelmed, Saul collapses until the medium persuades him to eat before departing. This dark chapter portrays the tragic culmination of Saul's spiritual decline—having rejected legitimate spiritual authority, he turns to forbidden practices only to receive confirmation of imminent judgment.
